Pros: they only ripped me off for 700 and not more?

    Cons: frame rate below 30

Summary: I hope that I am doing something wrong and missing a setting. I am a PC tech, thus, no inexperienced consumer, and I thkn I have tried everything but I hope am missing a setting or something because this is the card from hell. I purchased 2 of them, and put i PC's that are both over 3 gigs p4, power supplies both are 400. Checked all setting I canthink of, settings defult to 8x AGP anyway but I still checked, checked everything, I am so upset. I spent 80 bucks and my son gets 30 and under for framerate in counterstrike!! To make things even more sad, My sims 2 game lags!! all this for over 700 bucks.

If you're using an older motherboard with integrated video, there might be some conflict if it's not manually disabled in the BIOS. If that's not the case, driver issues is the next possibility. Did you install the latest drivers? If so, did you run driver cleaner to uninstall previous video drivers? The hardware isn't to blame.

check cpu if p4 478 socket under 3.4 ghz ht there your problem. have build over 25 systems with this card no problem get 60 in framerate in doom 3. Doom 3 will only see 60 in frame rate max. go amd 64 bit or fx2 will be very happy. P4 is bad for gaming. could have got that card for under $450.00. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=2044
http://www.superwarehouse.com/p.cfm?p=405894&CMP=KA18442
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/ATI-Radeon-X800-XL-Video-Card-100-435502CCS-/sem/rpsm/oid/119178/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
or you get two of this, if you go with a amd processor with asus motherboard that have dual AGP slots (SLI). I pick a couple of theses a week ago. best cards I own.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/EVGA-e-GeForce-7800-GTX-Graphics-Card-256P2N528DX-/sem/rpsm/oid/127960/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
