"Kickass performance"4.5 starson by Starving Artist
Pros: Fast card--great price/performance ratio--good cooling
Cons: Size--but high performance comes with a price.
Summary: To start I gotta say EVGA is a great company to deal with--I got this card on a step-up from an 8800GT, and it only cost me $50. dollars, as I got full credit on my previous card. That was a sweet deal IMO!!
I read the benchmark reviews before stepping up, and this card does not disappoint. The 8800GT is a very good card, but my FPS playing Crysis took a nice jump with this card.
Also, the card runs nice and cool when I run the fan at max--playing Crysis it rarely goes over 50c--usually in the mid 40'sc. And, at desktop I put the fan up to aroud 70% to keep it cool, and it is still very quiet. Although the stock fan is more robust than the stock 8800GT fan, it is quieter as well.
Only possible con--this sucker is BIG!!In my Antec 900 case any 9800GTX placed in the lower PCIe slots(EVGA 780i board) would interdere with any HDD's in the bottom cage. Not a problem for me--even though I am going to go SLI eventually--just make sure your case can accomodate this monster card.If it made coffee I'd give it a 10.
