  • "Works well then fan noise starts"
    2.5 stars
    on by PaulReagan0

Pros: A great card for the non gamer. Fast and cheap..

Cons: ...until the fan noise starts. And drones on and on until you replace it. Which is why I'm here at CNET again reading the reviews.

Summary: you could get lucky. You're probably becoming fan / heat sink savy by now if you are putting your own cards into your machine. The fans usually give out before the card does.

I have one now, and noticed some noise after I gave it a brush to get the dust off. All I did was undo the fan's retention clips and tapped it a few times upside-down on my desk, now it's fine. It's possible that dust can get into the fan's motor even without brushing.
