"Great little tool" on
Pros: Has the basic software. Palm i705 has been a loyal tool for a long time, I work with it for hours on end daily. Never had a problem with its functionality. Battery charge lasts for weeks.
Cons: No color, Internet connection service is pricey and not available everywhere.

"Meets my needs, not my wants" on
Summary: I wanted to buy Tungsten C or W or Handspring Treo 300 but it's very expensive package. All I really need is wireless email to keep myself closer to work and home. I decided to buy Palm i705 to meet my needs at Fry's for 149 dollars. Although it has no color, I love it already. Once I recharged the battery for one hour, it lasts for four days! I check my emails at palm.com and aol with no problem. I edited my assignment on the document in i705-no problem. I must point out that it's not for customers who want everything in one PDA. Thumbs up!

"Better then the palmIII" on
Summary: I upgraded form a palmIIIxe. the main reson i got it was it came w/ a keyboard for $140 at OficeMax. Its ok. Its faster, has same memory, nice look, better hardkeys and has a chargible battery. I also like the alarm (louder sound and a vibrate!) The thump keyboard is great. I did not subscribe to the wireless thing, i use it for typing my homework assinments on it (works great). THe propbles i've has is with my remote program, and my "butten launcher" program. Seems the i705 has diffrent IRQs or something. Overall, I like my new palm, but their could be improvments. note: my palm fits in the cradle, but it is easly shifted and losses connetion during syncs. I gess i need to call Palm.

"Skip It!" on
Summary: The i705 was my first PDA. The i705 never worked correctly for me. I had to hold it in my hand for almost ten minutes to get it to warm up enough to be able to get it to respond, and I live in Arizona. Finally, my husband said I shouldn't have to wrestle with it so much, so I called Palm for service. Of course, it was past the 90-day warranty. In the process of verifying the problem, they had me do a hard reset (I had previously done a HotSync). Now the unit only toggles back and forth between the upper left corner and lower right corner on the digitize setting screen. It was worth $399 when I got it. It would cost $123 to repair it. It could be replaced for $159 or less now. But I'm strongly considering a Sony CLIE PEG-SJ33 now. I should have gotten a color screen before!

"4 replacements and it is still broken" on
Summary: I purchased a new Palm 705i. It never worked. I received four replacements, and none of these units worked correctly. I read the negative reviews before I purchased the unit, and I still purchased the item. WHAT A MISTAKE. Please, stay away from this product. It does not work.
