"The PalmOne ($499) Store - Every New Product is $ 499" on by tamay17

    Pros: Bigger Screen, HDD, WIFI

Cons: No Camera, No Phone, Battery Life

Summary: I have not bought the LifeDrive as of yet. I started with the Treo 600 (No BT)$499, then the Treo 650 $499 because it had the bluetooth and now the LifeDrive $499 which sounds great but why spend that much when there is no phone or camera? the only added feature/difference between the Treo 650 and LifeDrive is the 4G HD. NEWS FLASH AS OF JUNE 10TH YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET A DEVICE THAT WILL GIVE YOUR TREO 600 & 650 WIFI - THE DEVICE IS CALLED "The Enfora Wi-Fi Sled" for the Treo 650 allows Treo 650 Smartphone users to access Wi-Fi hotspots to surf the Internet and send and receive email at highspeed over Wireless LANs. It includes WEP Encryption and an internal long life battery which provides 5 day standby and 24 hr typical data use and does not draw power from the Treo Smartphone. It ships with a 5 volt power supply and the Enfora Wi-Fi management/setup CD which includes Eudora Web Browser and a 30 day trial of Bachmann Mobility Suite. When the Sled is attached to the Treo the power supply will charge both devices simultaniously. Browse the Internet; read email and even Hotsync your Treo 650 wirelessly. Charge your Treo 650 through your Wi-Fi Sled. Integrated battery provides hours of high-speed Internet use without draining the Treo 650's battery.
Lightweight and low profile design makes for effective travel and comfortable use

"Not sure what the point is." on by cyclist_guy

    Pros: absolutely none

    Cons: huge, expensive

Summary: I've owned two Palms and two Pocket PC devices over the years. Report after report seems to indicate that these types of devices are on the decline in terms of sales. And I know why. The only thing I ever used it for was the calendar contact function. WiFI is useless - there are not many wifi hotspots around. On top of that, WiFI on a pocket pc of palm is SLOOOOW simply because of the low processor speed of the device. Bluetooth is another useless function. Manufacturers need to give users what they want - a SMALL, integrated device, that combines contact management, calendar, e-mail, and cell phone in one. Its no wonder smart phones are catching on and where the growth is in the handheld industry. I want something I can easily slip in my jacket pocket - not a brick

and since when is sharing pictures on a pda something thats important. how many users actually do this? Another useless function.

"Nothing that hasn't been done before" on by Bill Door

Pros: PalmOne are trying to be different

Cons: They've been beaten to it by Sharp by almost a year

Summary: Looking at the leaked specs, they fall below what the Sharp Zaurus CL3000 has in almost every area: the CL3000 has a 480x640 screen, integrated keyboard and a 4gig HDD. It runs Linux too. The only area its lacking is wireless connectivity but this is available via SDIO and CF. The only problem is its only available on import :(

Still I can't believe that over a year down the line this is the best PalmOne can come up with- no improvement on the Zaurus!!!

"innovation isn't even skin deep" on by scottcantor

    Pros: plastic case prevents fall-apart

Cons: Omigosh, they're hyping included software called "Camera Companion" but it doesn't even have a built-in camera!!? You just can't make this stuff up!

Summary: Thanks Goodness they're still using PalmOS 5; wouldn't want to join the 90's with a real operating system. Keep riding the Treo cash cow, folks; it should last another couple quarters before Palm starts pushing up daisies.

"WI-FI: YES APPLICATIONS TO RUN WITH: NO" on by gmaccian

    Pros: It's new.

Cons: Low battery life and not user replaceble, use palm os , hard drive .

Summary: If you are a man on the go,and you need to stay connected to your files, your bussines, your home ,your music, your movies i sugest you to take a look on HP RX3715.I have this hp with windows mobile,i never used the RESET button ,which is VERY famous on palm os powered devices(as on my tungsten t3).And about the battery, the ipaq keep playing music for more than 24 hours without battery charging.

    Tips:

-hard drive need more energy to work than a sd card so you may have less battery life using it.

-if you need more storace space on your pda buy an storage card.

-if you are planning buying the lifedrive because it have wi-fi forget it.what you can do with wi-fi and almost no applications for it?
