Quick Take: Whether they know it or not, BlackBerry users and Apple users have something in common: cultlike loyalty and support for the products. And now it's nice that these two groups can come together. PocketMac for BlackBerry 3.0 lets you connect your BlackBerry device to Macs (via USB or serial port) and sync data from applications such as Microsoft Entourage, iCal, the Mac OS X address book, Now-Up-To-Date, DayLite, and even stickies. The program is fully integrated with iSync and, for added security, supports any passwords you have set to your BlackBerry. PocketMac for BlackBerry costs $30 and supports the full gamut of BlackBerry models, including the 5800, 6200, 7200, and 7700 series.

Works Great

Pros: Fast sync of my data

Cons: Not always the most stable

Review: I believe all in all that this is an excellent piece of software. It as stated above is not always the most stable software. It has tried twice to replace or erase my address book on my blackberry. All in all though, I have been very happy with the software, especially since it works with my ibook. I cannot wait until they come out with a sync option for my email.

Has worked fine for me

Pros: A good way to sync iCal and the Blackberry

Cons: Can't exchange word documents on the mac

Review: Performs as advertised. If this program didn't exist mac users would be out of luck!

Lost Contact Info

Pros: It's the only solution

Cons: It doesn't work

Review: The program replaced the contact info on my blackberry with the info on my Mac. Instead of sycing it just over-wrote my info causing me to lose contacts. I played with all the preference and was unable to produce the desired results.

Tech support quit responding to my messages after they couldn't figure it out in the first two replies.

I am using a Blackberry 7520, perhaps it is just this model as others users love this product. Either way, I'm trying to get a refund.

Needs work

Pros: Easy to use,

Cons: Only worked in one direction, TERRIBLE Tech support

Review: The program claims to work on 3 different programs, Mac Address book, Now contact, Entourage. I have tried 2 of the programs and only 1 of them worked. But, the real problem is TECH support or should I say lack of "un"support. I have a "ticket" out with them for over a week with no responds!!! So if you read this Pocket Mac get back to me

Nice idea, but repeatedly crashed iCal on Mac OS X

Pros: It works, for a while, and indeed synchs all your data between your Blackberry and your mail, contacts and notes.

Cons: After a while it invariably crashes the iCal application in OS X (10.3). Mail can only be resuccitated by reinstalling iCal and removing Pocket Mac. No bluetooth synching yet.

Review: I was particularly disappointed at PocketMac's customer service and technical support when dealing with this issue. I submitted several tickets, which generally took up to a week to be responded to by PocketMac and they didn't end up solving anything. I tried installing and reinstalling the programme, which inadvertedly meant Mail would crash and I would spend hours reviving it. Nice idea, but flawed execution.
