"Good for sitting and listening to music, lousy for any kind of activity" on by tkoscott
Pros: Good sound, great noise reduction
Cons: The volume control is bulky and heavy, tends to pull the ear plug from your ear, the shirt clip does not work well and tends to pinch and snag clothing
Summary: As far as ear buds and sound they are great, ease of use with the volume control are marginal, the volume control is heavy and lousy if you want to use them to work out or run. Customer support @ Altec Lansing is lacking, have tried to contact them 3 times with no response.

"Buy amazon for $73 with next day shipping. great deal" on by jnsimons sr
Pros: Best kept secret .studio sound and great isolation
Cons: if you don't get a good seal they will sound terrible
Summary: A good set of phones at $150.At $73 these are the best deal out there.there is so much detail with tight powerfull bass.I have no problems with the fit in my ears as I like the isolation of the quality sound. My sony 71s had deep bass but it was not as defined and the treble was too shrill as the altecs and silky.buy and enjoy

"Wow this is too good!" on by yiwakawa
Pros: Sound, sturdy, and only $80!
Cons: Only came in white I want black, but it's only $80...
Summary: I got mine at Amazon.com for $80. I got to say it's just as good as my Grado SR60. It's got everything I like about the Grado, but it's in my ears more, and easier to take with me.
I wanted black, but it looked like it was only available in white. At this kind of price I think I can recommend this one to anyone. -
"Great Sound, Unbelievable Price" on by rugby10
Pros: Price, Clarity of Sound,Decent Bass
Cons: Clip is terrible,In-Line HD/Bass/Volume device weighty
Summary: I just got these from Amazon for $49 incl shipping! My first pair of IEM's, and so far I'm very pleased. I'm using the tri-flanges, but will soon move to the foamies to determine which is best suited for me. Did come research on www.head-fi.com and at $79, they said it was a steal. Most reviews place these above the etymotic er6i's in overall balance. I have nothing but the standard Sony buds that came with the NW-e507, to compare them to, but they sound awesome right out of the box. I have yet to use them enough for the "burn in" period some people say occurs, but if the sound never got any better, I'd still be happy! $49 and free shipping for quality IEM's cannot be beat...ebay included. Plus you get a 2 year warranty when you register. I initially was looking into the Shure line, but they priced me out of their line, especially when the Amazon sale was found. I'd seriously give these a listen if you are in the market for a higher-end sound at a marginal price.
