"As good as it gets for less than $100" on by Guido Muldoon
Pros: Audio specs identical to the stellar Sennheiser PX100. Earclips and single left side cable.
Cons: Neckband may appear less than cool to those who care about such things.
Summary: I think that, dollar for dollar, these may be the best external headphones you can get that are practical for use with an mp3 player of any brand. I already own Sennheiser PX100s and Shure E3c in ear headphones. The PMX100s are identical to the PX100s except for style of fit. I like the ear clips and neckband. They are more secure for jogging/excersizing and are still perfectly comfortable for several hours at a time. The neckband is nonadjustable steel and has a slightly odd round shape that may look or fit oddly on some people.
The quality of sound reproduction is really quite amazing. I prefer these to my Shure E3c in ear phones. Some people don't know how to properly seat in ear phones and so never get the full range from them. I do know how and the PMX100s have better sound, cost about 1/4 as much and are easier to use unless you need noise isolation which is the only time I use the Shures. -
"Sweetest sound at this price point." on by ParallaX49
Pros: Fatastic clarity, featherweight, behind-the-head design won't mess up my hair.
Cons: Highs may get a little tinny at high volumes, no adjustable band.
Summary: Finally, a pair of behind the head headphone that don't sound cheap. At this price point, it literally took me 5 minutes to think of cons worth listing. These phone offer so much for under $50, that I'm willing to forgive (almost) anything.
Great buy for those who need a lightweight, innexpensive, piarof headphones, but don't want to give up sound qualtiy for it. -
"Great but PMX60 is better - for the intended use" on by pnovak
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Heavier and less conformable than PMX60
Summary: I have been using very happily Sennheiser's PMX60 for over a year - primarily while bicycling. I was looking for a replacement / spare, so I bought the PMX100. The sound is marginally better than the PMX60, but given its intended purpose - outdoor activity and etc., the added weight and loss of comfort are too big a price to pay for that margin. While PMX60 are light and employ elegantly simple method of attaching to / over the ears, the 100 are unnecessarily heavy (steel band/spring) and employ plastic clips to attach to the ear. The end result is that the steel band is pressing against your ears, and by extension onto your scull, while the plastic clips bend the top part of earlobes over the phones and away from your head - not attractive. I just hope that the lobes will return to their natural state after awhile. I am a great fan of Sennheiser - have another 3 pairs of their other headphones - for other uses, and if I was to advise them, they should stick with the PMX60 ear attachment design and just upgrade the earphones - don't fix what was not broken.

I normally get about 10 hours of play from an AAA battery using the PMX 60, but with the PMX 100 I only get about 4. I knew that these phones are less efficient and that you have to increase the volume driving them, but the power consumption is quite high. Anyway, I have to reinforce my earlier comments - great sound (I only listen to classical music which is a lot more demanding of the phones/speakers), though I suspect that listening to popular music would not discern the improvement over the already great sound of the PMX 60, but not that well suited for little MP3 players, or keep spare batteries handy.Updated

"Best buy for a long time" on by TeeMan22
Pros: Excellent sound and build quality. Long cord. Flexible neckband.
Cons: Very minor, a little uncomfortable to rest around the neck when not on ears.
Summary: I seem to 'consume' headphones at an alarming rate. I've previously owned several Sennheiser, Sony and Logitech headphones in the past two years and I can honestly say that the PMX-100 surpasses them all. It has taken the depth of sound from the Logitech FreePulse, but without the awkward bluetooth attachment.
The cord is the longest and most practical I've come across (I'm 6"0' and it almost touches the floor).
The build quality is fantastic by being flexible enough to 'peel' off your ears without damaging it. The speakers can also be clicked flat for easy storage.
The only minor gripe I have is that due to its well-fitting nature, it is a little snug around the neck when it isn't on your ears, which becomes uncomfortable after long periods.
An excellent headphone all-round and I'll definitely be purchasing another one when I inevitably break this one. -
"Insanely great!" on by afyrileiv
Pros: Awesome sound, comfortable and easy to wear.
Cons: Nothing wrong with these. Nice price for great sound.
Summary: I love these headphones. PMX 100 has great sound, affordable, comfortable, has great bass and they feel solid. Works sweet with my iPod.
(I used to own a pair of PMX 60 earlier, but they're nothing compared to the PMX 100.)
