"I bought these in the boston airport on an impulse. The store manager said they are good as BOSE" on by horstjosh
Pros: - Sound was incredible, they work if battery is dead, very comfortable
Cons: - Little pricey, bulky like the BOSE so you need room in your carry on
Summary: They were great and I have been very happy with them. I like the fact that I can still use for music if the battery is dead.

"Horrible Product!!!" on by mayday2471
Pros: - Nothing is good about these!
Cons: - Sound Clarity is awful
- Noise Cancelling is sub par
- Manufacturer's customer service is non-existenceSummary: If you're considering buying a pair of Ableplanet NC1000CH headphones then please do yourself a favor and get a pair from Bose or other reputable manufacturer instead. I just bought a pair of these to replace my Bose QC2s where I had worn out the headphone cups and I was extremely disappointed to find out that the sound quality of these don't even measure up to the earbud headphones that came with my iPod.
Pros:
- Absolutely Nothing. Extra thumbs down for Ableplanet's Customer Service (or lack thereof).
Cons:
- The sound quality is awful and the signal is cheaply amplified to try and drown out the poor sound clarity. There is nothing "clear" about these headphones and the speakers don't even replicate the full spectrum of sound...meaning the highs sound shrilly and the bass buzzes or makes that "thwwwpptt" sound.
- Noise cancelling is sub par. While it does produce some white noise, there is just as much crackling and popping to offset any noise cancelling.
- Ableplanet's customer service is terrible. It took me several calls over a couple of weeks to even get someone to pickup at the end of their 800-number. Don't bother leaving a message either, because nobody will call you back. Same with sending an email to their "customer support" address as I still haven't gotten a response back. When I did finally get someone, they sent me a return number so I could send mine in for a replacement pair and when the replacement pair came, it was the exact same pair that I had sent. I know it was the same pair because the box had a mark that I made when I originally opened it and the included wires, etc were all unraveled and unwrapped. Really? Did I just waste $8 to ship this piece of crap back to Ableplanet only to have them ship them right back to me.
I honestly can't comprehend any of positive reviews for these and I can only assume that those people must never have heard true sound quality like that from a pair of Bose. I don't often write reviews but I felt strongly enough about the poor quality of these that I had to warn any prospective buyers. Buyer beware!!!! -

Noise canceling

I might blow these babies if Im not careful; The padding vibrates off my ears at full blastSummary: Dont give AblePlanet a bad rap due to Groupons lack of experience with large orders
As I understand 10% of sales go to charity -

"Not worth the price tag. Satisfaction genre dependent." on by liszt85
Pros: Nice carrying case
Works without battery (but muddled)
Tight fit (some people may not like this)
Good battery lifeCons: Poor noise cancellation performance (only works in low noise environments)
Creates noise on its own
Highly susceptible to cell phone signals
Crackles periodically (not all the time) if cell phone is anywhere near itSummary: Sound quality: I listen to a lot of classical music. I don't really like the fact that it adds these higher harmonics to the sound altering the timbre of the various instruments involved. I somehow lose the "authenticity" behind the music. Other than that, I guess the sound quality is ok, nothing really to rave about there.
Build quality: Feels solid, though the components look somewhat cheap. I also don't really like the shape, it sticks outward from your head (the shape is probably similar to the Bose QC2, judging from other reviews, but I'm not sure as I haven't used the QC2).
Noise Cancellation: I was highly disappointed by its NC performance. It does alright in very low noise situations. Its passive noise cancellation is good because the ear cups by themselves remove some noise. Its the active noise canceling that's disappointing. In high noise situations, it generates its own noise, presumably to mask the external noise but I am able to hear BOTH the external noise and the added internal noise and its annoying! So if noise canceling is a priority, go for the Bose QC15! Also, it crackles in the presence of cell phones. I've had it happen twice. A periodic crackling sound appears in the left ear cup. It happened during the day time but it did not after I got back home, at night. I then put my cell phone near me, and it did some crackling (though not as periodically as it did during the day time when I had the cell phone in my pocket). So I'm not sure they've fixed all the bugs in their noise canceling technology.
Comfort: Its a tight fit. Not tight to the point of discomfort. However, I don't know if I can wear these for more than 2 hours without being fatigued around the ears. I haven't tried but I found the QC15 much more comfortable (I tested them at Best Buy and might buy them soon).
I will keep these though because I got it from Groupon for $69 and its not eligible for returns! :( However, I'm glad I didn't spend $300 on these, so I don't mind keeping them. I'll just have to get better headphones for travel purposes and for higher quality music listening!
