  • "Never been so disappointed with a pair of earphones"
    on by Reallycoolalias

    Pros - Crisp treble

Cons - No bass in noisy environment
    - Crappy bass in quiet environment
    - Super uncomfortable
    - Unimpressive max volume

Summary Purchased to upgrade from these: http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/sony-mdr-ex85lp-blk/4505-7877_7-32780180.html - which I payed $49 NZD for.

Instead...I found myself with a pair of earphones that barely perform any better than the pair from Samsung that I got for free with my Galaxy Sii.
    - The bass is totally lost in any noisy setting, and for the bass to actually fill out it's place in a standard pop-rock mix from my iPod I have to be in a silent environment.
    - The max volume doesn't even come close to matching the Sony's

  • "In my opinion, shocking."
    on by Marty_R94

Pros - Good clarity in the treble ranges is about all.

    Cons - Shocking bass
    - Terrible design with an uncomfortable fit, heavy earpieces, a heavy volume control feature and an inconvenient jack

Summary My set of Seinheiser CX 300-II had blown in one earpiece and so I bought a set of the K 340s after having them recommended by a salesman >:( As soon as I started listening through them, I was dissapointed with the sound quality: a tinny sound with low bass. The design is also hopeless with an uncomfortable fit in the ear, a heavy volume control and earpieces which drag the bud out of the ear, and a protruding base at the jack which makes it hard to wrap the earphones around your iPod without damaging the lead. In my opinion, unless I bought a defected set, these earphones are certainly not worth the money after listening through the much cheaper and, from what I believe, better sounding CX 300-II. I want them back :(

  • "Great sound, good appearance but very bad build quality"
    on by R3in

Pros Very good sound quality. Nice appearance. Great variety of silicone earbuds.

Cons Very bad build quality. Broke my 2nd pair within three months (the first pair was replaced under warranty). Cable keeps breaking at 3,5mm plug. Can not be used while running. The weight of the volume control will pull it out of your ear.

Summary Very disappointed about the quality of these AKG headphones.
