  • "I'm very pleased by this headset!!"
    on by junoim

Pros very portable, cheap, nice sound quality, comfortable, long battery life, fast charge

Cons rubber plug by charging jack can break off easy, sometimes sound gets choppy when listening to mp3 outdoor (this issue can be easily resolved when you locate your phone on left side body)

Summary "Make sure have your phone located left side of the body whole time, otherwise sound will get choppy in outdoors"<~~~~very important. I ordered 3 plantronics backbeat903 from Walmart.com for $48.00 each for my family members. We all were very pleased by this product. What I liked about most was the sound quality, comfortability, and easy of use (I mastered functionality within 5minutes). Battery stays pretty much all day and it only needs less than 2hours of charging time(manual says 3hours but it takes less).

  • "Durability?"
    on by Rlehmkuhl

Pros Good sound, functionality for blue tooth. Enjoyed product daily for 2 weeks. Good range. Can leave phone in one place and stay connected for 40 or 50 feet. The controls take a bit to get used to, but are pretty intuitive.

Cons Used them while working out. Sweat rolled into ear and shorted them out. I have seen other complaints about this, but others have said they sweat heavy and use with out problem. I'm not a" heavy" sweater so I figured I would give them a try.

Summary Pretty good product. I will try to get them replaced, but will not use them during exercise, or expose them to elements (rain).

  • "Can't beat them for the price"
    on by OSD

Pros - Works good with iPhone
    - No cords getting in the way
    - Much better sound than I expected
    - Does not eliminate background noises (important if wearing at work for me)

Cons - Fit is odd and always needs some adjusting.

Summary I am moving around a lot at work inspecting parts, I also do a lot of work around large mills and lathes so corded headsets are out. I have been wearing the backbeats at work now for the past 2 weeks and I must say I'm impressed. The sound is as good as most of the corded headsets in the same price range.(I paid 34.99 w/free shipping from CellPhoneShop.net) At first I thought not eliminating the ambient noise was going to be a problem, but for me it works out great. I can still hear all the important "attention needed" sounds, telephone, co-workers, machinery, announcements, etc... and it only takes a touch of a button to stop the music and hear normally.

I don't wear these working out, I have a corded set for that, but I do get hot and sweaty at work and so far no issues with buttons not working. I did have to do a reset once, but so far they have proven to be pretty durable.

I have hod no issues with lost signal. I wear my iPhone on my left side clipped between my front and back pocket. I also leave my phone lay on my desk a lit and I have wolked into my inspection booth over 20 feet away with no lost signal.

Battery life has not been an issue for me. I wear them about 5-6 hours a day and the only time they have gone dead is when I forgot to charge them. Charging didn't seem to take long either. Most of the time I just put them on the charger when I home and take them off in the morning on my way out.

I have only used them for phone calls 2 times and they did OK. (I will stick with my Blueant Q2 for that task.) The other party had a little difficulty hearing me with background noise interfering, but they did allow me to complete the call.

Fit is weird. It seems like I am always adjusting them. They could have added more adjustability, a few different size earbuds, or both. Sound quality suffers because of fit issues. Maybe some day I will figure out a decent combination of twist, height, and tube angle to get optimum sound from the Backbeat. Until then, only 3.5 stars.

If this set fails I would definitely buy them again. I don't think you can beat them for the price.

  • "Not as moble as you want."
    on by cmartinez2216

    Pros Small, compact, light weight

Cons You can't use it if there in your front pocket or at or below your waist. The phone call quality is the worst I have ever had, and this is my third Bluetooth device. The phone calls are spoty at best and there is a high amount of static.

Summary If you want a pair of Bluetooth ear phones that you can work out with and take your music with you as well as make phone calls... this is not the set for you. Your phone calls have terrable quatliy and you cant have your device at or below your waist! If you have it your phone or Ipod on the treadmill, or just sitting on a table that is in the gereral area of your body there perfect.

  • "Crappy outside"
    on by obnxs1

    Pros Nice fit
    Decent sound
    Easy controls

Cons Works just as well outside as Motorola S9............

Summary Considering these were Plantronics, which I've always had to best luck for bluetooth gear, I was expecting the same kind of performance. I was disappointed. I already own the Motorola S9 and if I'd known these performed just as poorly outside I wouldn't have bothered.
