Pros: Headset controls work well (ie. Volume, Play/Pause, Track Skip, Answer Phone)
Works well as headphones from within the vehicle.

    Cons: Useless outside the vehicle
    Intermittent Sound
    Poor Call Quality

Summary: I had a set of Motorola Motorockr S9's and yes they were worse than this headset but this one certainly isn't much better.

I was looking for a headset to listen to audio books coupled with my HTC Legend.

In the vehicle they work as headphones with good sound reliability but outside the vehicle the sound is intermittent unless the headset is directly beside the phone. Even when the phone is on my arm (with an arm band holder) the sound is intermittent so there really isn't a practical solution for using this headset outside of a vehicle.

While attempting phone calls from within the vehicle(as outside the vehicle the headset periodically disconnects and sound reliability is nil) the radio turned off driving at a speed of 90 to 100 km/h the people I talk to say it sounds as if I'm on an airport runway or in some other noisy environment. Yet again the device fails me.

Since the headset doesn't work as headphones or as hands free headset I would say the best word to describe the Backbeat 903 is useless.

I'm just so frustrated that there is no solution for wireless headphones. I destroy wired headphones regularly as i catch them on door knobs and things pulling them from my ears and the phone.

Perhaps I'll go back to carrying a ghetto blaster on my shoulder.
