"Glad I bought them"4.5 starson by SweetTunesinNC
Pros: Very good sound stage, solid bass, high sensitivity so it doesn't need additional amplification
Cons: Heavy, makes your ears sweaty, not suited for extended listening, loooog, heavy cord(wish it detached and a shorter one could be added)
Summary: I already own pairs of Grado SR125 and the Klipsch Image S4 so I wanted to have a pair of closed, over the ear HPs. I think the AT sounds better than the Grados. Even though the Grados are open backed I found the ATs to have a more open, grander soundstage. Understandably, the bass is deep with the ATs and it plays plenty loud with my Touch so no amp needed.
What really surprised me is how well the Klipsch Image S4 held up to the ATs. I think the sound quality is on par, plays even louder, and is far more portable than the AT. So if you are on a budget and/or you don't find IEMs uncomfortable, I say go for the Klipsch instead. But ideally, own both!
I also purchased a pair of AKG 701s a few months ago. It had a beautiful, smooth, warm sound. It is sexy as hell, especially in white, super comfortable, and has a very high quality build. But I like a more dynamic sound, more bass, and it didn't play adequately loud enough with the Touch. Maybe I could have gotten there with an external, quality headphone amp but that would have exceeded my budget so I reluctantly returned them.
