  • "Overpriced for the performance"

Pros: Truly none. Anyone who gave these 5 stars knows nothing about audio. They're not bad, but for $300 they are more than 3 times the price they should be.

    Cons: Overpriced for the performance.

Summary: As with any company such as Monster, you're paying for a name. In this case both the Monster brand and the Dr. Dre name. They aren't horrible if you want a big low end and don't care about getting the most from other recordings. For recordings with little detail, such as hip hop where bass is the main objective, these aren't terrible. When I demoed these, I was in shock at the price. I paid $370 for the headphones I do have, but they are in an entirely different league (offer more bass that's clean and not bloated with great extension, more clarity, better mids, and better highs). Do some research before buying these. I didn't even find them particularly comfortable.

Bottom line: If you buy these, you didn't get the most out of your money unless the only thing you're going for is looks and to say you have them.

    Eh,
you're right about the overpriceness of the headphone and it isn't a very good quality in sound, but it beats some headphones which cord jacks suddenly wear off easily.

Somehow mine's battery power runs very short and it is one of the things that upsets me. Additionally, when it starts to get static when the power is low. I'm not really really for the quality...

    Audio Engineer Producer Dj Here

Over priced. Not worth the money, very simply put.
Here is some food for thought.

    SONY MDR-V700DJ HEADPHONES
    Frequency Response : 5Hz - 30 Khz
    $99

    Monster Beats by Dr. Dre
    Frequency Response : 20Hz - 20 Khz
    $299

You claim you can hear things on these headphones that aren't audible on others? Doubtfully. In fact, Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones don't even come close to the frequency response ranges of most pro audio headphones. Look it up and do your research. (In General)The audible frequency range of human ear is (20Hz-20kHz) Although this is the general scientific fact, it has been scientifically proven that some people can hear a hair above and below that of which i stated. So for the everyday consumer to acknowledge audio frequencies they claim they have never heard before, i believe them. But then again, what's their point of reference, $40 cheapos? Beats by Dre just aren't worth the money. Go with a set of good pro audio headphones.

Hi, I am a great music lover like you. I am not good with the terminology used for the headphones like highs, lows etc.... but i think you have the answer that i am looking for. I am in search of an in-ear earphone (say canal-phones) which will give me one of the the most outstanding bass in the world, and at the same time the music should be clear as well, in the sense the bass should not dilute the treble and vocal effect of the songs. I recently purchased sennheiser cx 400 II and I want to say its a total loss of money. It has very less bass effect than i expected. So this time I would like to be correct in getting a earphone with a bass quality that nothing can match. I would also expect the product to be of a reasonable price.
    Please reply soon.
    Thank You

What headphones do you have? I demoed the dr. beats at and apple store and was floored at how terrible they are. It's not just overpriced, they really do suck. Totally muddy, terrible highs (no sharpness) and not even that comfy.
