Pros Well, let's start with the obvious.
A. These are Beats, and you're getting the brand here.
B. These look sleek and new - an excellent design.
C. Nice, folding design, with solid case.
D. Fairly Comfortable
Cons Aaaaand here comes a deluge of bad.
A. Truly awful sound.
- Weak treble
- Murky bass
- Undefined mids
B. Noise canceling causing an unbearable, perpetual, hissing noise.
Summary Basically, when you buy these headphones, you're paying for the shiny looks and little logo on the sides. They sound atrocious. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I can tell you this right now - if your music sounds murky, with unclear, undefined mids and painfully weak treble, your headphones suck. Also, the noise canceling makes this really noticeable hissing sound, and it is a pain to put up with when you're using these. I'm not one of those guys to rag on Beats all the time - I have a pair of Beats Mixrs, and I think they sound great. But frankly, these headphones just sound so flat out bad, I wound't want anyone to have to go through the pain of wasting a few hundred bucks for such disappointing sound. If you want some seriously great noise-canceling headphones, go Bose QC's or Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B's.
Pros This head set is a very attractive piece of hardware. It definitely will make people notice what you are wearing and will compliment your sense of style. The sound is very clear as well. They are built well
Cons The active noise cancellation makes a hissing sound which makes me think it does not do a good job in actually canceling the noise, more like disguising it. The head set does not actually fit around your ears they rest on them. Not as clear as Bose
Summary I had bought these for my wife because she needed a decent head phones for all the flying we do. I currently have the Bose which I have loved since day one. I decided to buy a pair of the beats because I ave heard that they are pretty good quality and sound is good. I figured that why buy the same thing twice right? After purchasing the beats executive set and comparing them to the Bose, I would definitely purchase Bose again for sound cancelation and sound quality. The beats look aesthetically better but can't compare as for comfort and sound clarity for the cost. If I could, I would exchange them for Bose all day long. Now that I have them I am still happy with them but I have been spoiled by the Bose. If I had not have owned the qc15's, I would have rated these as a 4 star head set. Over all if you are looking for comfort sound quality and true sound cancellation, do your self a favor and buy Bose. If you want LOOKS and decent sound, you will be happy with these.
Pros Great sound
Easy access to batteries
Cons Heavier than Bose QC15
Slightly less comfy than Bose QC15 - but well worth it due to the sound quality increase
Summary These replaced a set of Bose QC15's for me. I liked the feel and quality of the Bose QC15, but unfortunately, they just were not loud enough for me. The bass on the Bose QC15 is not nearly as dynamic as the bass on the Beats Executives. They are a little heavier and "tighter" on my ears, but I am used to the feel after a few uses. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase these at Costco last weekend as they were blowing them out at $225.00!!!
