"One Word "BOSE""
Pros: Excellent sound, rich deep base, light, comfortable, and nice case
Cons: lacks the noise isolation features.
Summary:Updated
I was going to buy the E2C Shure headphones, then I saw the bose. I don't regret it! I'm a sound freak, I had many other name brand headphones but these are by far the best I ever heard!! I'm a runner and these bose are so good. It's actually good that it doesn't isolate noise, because it allowes me to hear cars and other background noise during night running without decreasing sound quality.

There are many people suckered into joining the sheep who have been brainwashed to hate a particular brand. Bose in particular gets lots of flak, for no good reason frankly. People are quick to call any Bose product crap, nevermind that they probably never even heard the product. On the other hand people are quick to praise, say Shure but now if there was ever an overrated pile of turd of a company it was Shure.
Let's compare the two headsets from the two, Bose's TriPort in-ears which retail for around $100US and Shure's e2c's which also retail for around that price. The sound is roughly similar with Bose having a better lowend, Shure having a better midend, but both are pretty over-priced. However in terms of ergonomics the Bose is far more comfortable, as if you weren't wearing anything, while the Shures hurt your ears after a few minutes, no matter which buds you use. They're also bulkier and harder to carry around.
Despite that, Shure gets praise, Bose is evil. Whatever. -
There are people who get suckered into high priced "brand names" regardless of real value or quality. Obviously this is one of them.

Bose hardly means quality when it comes to many of their products... I'm not saying these headphones don't sound good... however, much of their product line is average at best, and generally well overpriced.

I've got one word for Bose, but I won't print it here. I'm sorry but Bose can't make a competent pair of anything, not even socks. They can CHARGE a lot for it sure, but if you're looking for something that doesn't sound like a tin can attached to a string, look elsewhere, to the above mentioned for ear buds, or AKG, Beyer, Sennheiser, and even Sony for big old fashioned cans.

Bose is not the best, In fact compared to real speakers in this case ear phones, they are quite inferior. Coming from a self proclaimed sound freak, you should be ashamed of yourself for saying "one word bose" before you make comments like that please listen to other speakers.. B&W, Martin Logan etc or other eahphones.. Westone UM2 Shure e5c etc...

I just returned the Shure E2's. They were great for cutting out the sound, but the bass was low and they hurt my ears. I've been using the Bose In Ear Triports and they sound excellent. Bass is great and they are very comfortable. These are perfect if you listen to R&B, Hip Hop and lots of bass.
