"disappointing sound quality, mediocre isolation, expensive"2.0 starson by GreggN
Pros: changeable ear inserts, small earbuds
Cons: overpriced, tinny sound
Summary: Broke the cable on my cheap Philips earbuds and chose the er-6i based on cnet reviews. The default earpiece (3 plastic circles) was a painful change after the soft foam of the Philips, and it did nothing to block other sounds. Changed to the foam inserts on the er-6i and it was more comfortable - but not as much sound isolation as the Philips. The audio was thin and tinny compared to the Philips.
With the foam inserts, these are more comfortable than others that I've owned. They're small enough to fit under my motorcycle helmet. I'm hard on earbud cables, and these haven't broken yet.
In summary, I wouldn't buy these again because I want better sound isolation and better audio quality. I'll probably go back to the Philips brand when these break. Earbuds break too often to be spending this much money on replacements.
