Pros Clear, even sound; good comfort; good noise cancellation.
Cons Can be a bit tricky to get properly positioned in the ear; the cable isn't the most durable.
"Flimsy and trebly"on by tombuur
Pros Good isoilation. Works real fine for monitoring during recording and avoiding bleed to the microphone. The bleed is close to the electric noise floor.
Cons Flimsy cable and worst of all a shrill trebly sound. I simply cannot understand why some (including cnet) think these sound good. Okay, on the iphone and elsewhere I can adjust equalisation to make them sound better, but why is this necessary. All my othe
Summary As I said flimsy and trebly, but excellent isolation. The latter may be useful which is why I gave them three. If you don't need isolation I would only give them one.
Pros sound quality
Cons poor construction
Summary i bought TWO pair and for both the same happened: a bit after the 1 year expired, i started losing sound from one of the side which after a while was dead. either the cable of the contacts got broken.
Thus i cannot spend $80 every 1 1/2 years on new earphones!
Pros Stay in ears while running.
Good sound quality
Cons Cord is too long and thin.
Start to become unconfortable to wear after a while.
Summary This is the 4th pair of earbuds I've tried for use with my iPod and the only pair that actually stay in throughout my workout. The sound quality is good, but not the best. Kristine E. Musaraca
"Better than drugs"on by Art Kaye
Pros clean sound, excellent background noise reduction, and easy to carry
Cons blocks out too much sound for safe use on the street.
Summary I bought my first pair of ER 6i's based on a combination of reviews and recommendations from friends, and I'm glad I did.
I've been using them for two years and I love them. The sound is clean and transparent, the passive noise reduction impressive - I commute by train and the train sound fades far enough into the background as to stop being distracting. This means I don't have to crank up the sound loud enough to damage my hearing, and it takes a very loud person on a cell phone to be annoying.
In an ideal world, I would want a better balance to the sound - but at the $90 price point, these little guys do an excellent job.
The company is also very good about repairing damaged phones during the warranty period. I had a pair whose jack developed a short, and they had them repaired and back to me in a week. It was during that week that I realized I was addicted to them, and needed to be sure I had a pair around, so I bought a second pair.
A word of caution: it does take a few days to get used to the in-the-ear pads, and it is important that they be inserted deep enough into the ear to seal the ear canal, or else they will sound flat and hollow.
