"Excellent Headphones"4.5 starson by kschles
Pros: Wonderful, balanced sound and very good isolation
Cons: None so far.
Summary: I was very worried about trying another set of earbud, canal-type, headphones. I had the sony MDR-EX71's and could never get a good fit, and consequently never got very much sound. However, the theory behind the earbuds was good - light weight, noise isolation, and (because I have some ringing in my ears), not having to play the music at higher levels (especially in the gym, with other music and TVs blaring.
I read lots of reviews and advice on different types of headphones - here at CNET and on other sites - especially the importance of proper insertion (wetting the flanged eartips first is essential). Finally got the buds and I'm currently listening to incredible sounding music. I actually prefer the flanged tips to the foam tips. Have tried different types of music - classical, pop, rock, jazz, even a little new age. Everything sounds fresh and new. The base is fine without my Ipod equalizer turned on. Really, for those that complain about really bad sound - read the manual and make sure you are inserting the buds properly. The results will be worth it.
