"Superb, but only for home listening" on by kingfelix

Pros: Great sound quality and build quality

    Cons: Not for portable use

Summary: These Grados serve up incredible sound fidelity for their price; they might be the best sub-$100 headphone.

They do not isolate you from the outside world, however, and they do not isolate the outside world from your music at all. This makes them unsuitable for loud locations such as the bus or airplane, where you'll deafen yourself (and annoy the other passengers) if you turn the volume up far enough to listen to your music. They're also unsuitable for quiet locations such as the library, as the music you're listening to will be quite audible to those around you, even at moderate volumes.

For home use, though, and for the odd locations where it's not too loud outside and there aren't other people in close proximity, these headphones sound amazing. I'm glad that I own them.

Be prepared to adjust them yourself to make them comfortable (instructions included with the headphones, I believe). The headpiece gets much more comfortable once it has been squeezed to your head shape. Even after adjusting them, these aren't the world's most comfortable headphones.

    Happy listening.

"Perfect for MP3's and private listening." on

Pros: Sounds great with ipod and laptop--makes MP3's sound fuller and more nuanced than I thought possible.

Cons: Leak so much sound that everyone within 15 feet will get to enjoy the music too--really not useful with portables for this reason.

"Excellent headphones and nice people" on

Pros: In addition to the great sound that you'll hear about, their customer service is amazing. I never filled out my warranty card, but when I, probably through rough use, bent my miniplug slightly, they fixed it for free, and even sent back the 5 dollars I'd

Cons: Well, there are more comfortable headphones out there, but these are still pretty nice.

"Great sound but fragile" on by mcsmith86

    Pros: Great open air sound

    Cons: Fragile, Low life expectancy

Summary: I bought a set of SR60s approximately 1 1/2 years ago for use with my guitar/amp and at work.

Unfortunately when playing (electric) guitar at home the headphones couldn't hold up and started to crackle at seemingly very low thresholds. With no real use for them at home they have lived in the office since then.

In the office I felt these headphones were worth their weight in gold. They had great sound and was also open enough that I could hear people if they called for me.

My only real complaint is that after ~1 year one of the cups had wiggled its way off the metal post. For the next few months I would simply wiggle it back on (sometimes with a spot of glue - a feel good measure at best) but ultimately the plastic on the cup was stripped/widened to the point of no return.

Overall they held up ok for the amount of use they saw but I really would have thought they'd be more soundly built especially from Grado.

"Excellent sound quality; grados got it where it counts most." on by lkkchung

Pros: Great sound. AND GRADOS LOOK AWESOME

Cons: Foam is a little too flimsy, and everyone can hear what I'm listening to

Summary: Great product for listening to music at home or work. Doesn't keep outside noise out, though. And everyone can hear what you hear, so it's not the best time to bring out your Spice World movie sound track. I don't know why everyone thinks they look goofy, because they look freakin' pro. They have that raw functional apeal. And they totally deliver.
