    "NICE sound in FRAGILE phones"

by AlexanderHolm on November 3, 2006

Pros: Relaxed, warm and easy sound

    Cons: Fragile, clumsy detachabel cable

Summary: The sound is warm and relaxed which hence prolongs the listening pleasure. I've been listening a couple of hours, the sources: NAD C 320BEE, SonyEricsson W800 and the studio. They are comfortable and they stay put during adventures, however, they are fragile. Mine (3 weeks old at the time) suddenly started to show the wiring, the isolation had broke. Sure they do work, but sooner or later the wiring will rip thread by thread. You can all understand the consequence of that - no sound. I hope that Jays will replace them, because it's obvious this is a production error. Isolation just don't snap off this way. Anyhow if your looking for some fine looking and nice sounding in-ear phones this is the way to go. However, until I've got my phones replaced I wouldn't recommend anyone buying them. Because with the hefty pricetag, good service should be included.

I would like to add that my phones which I recieved from JAYS were pre-release samples - yes I got them for free. I have been in contact with JAYS and they assured me that mine did not fulfill the standards in mean of quality. To prove this they have offered me a pair of new phones "of the rack". I have no question to doubt them in matter of quality because the sound and build quality of the acctual phones themselves is brilliant. Therefore I surely must recommend these phones. What is it not to like? They sound nice, they look nice and the most important thing; they are comfortable! What more is it to it than that? It's a 8,5/10, why 8,5 if they are so brilliant? Well, I still do think they are a tad expensive even though I didn't even have to pay for mine. Still, 895SEK approx. 96? or if we are speaking american money $122 is not a lot of money, but for a student it is. If I had the money and wanted some good phones - yes, not a single doubt. They are really sleek!
