"Not much different than a pair of $4 earphones"
Pros: 1. Built-in volume control looks sleek
2. Pack includes an airline adapter jack to connect it to in-flight audio systems.Cons: Absolutely no "richness" in the audio. Yes it provides complete audio range, but the resultant sound is totally flat, without any bass or treble effects standing out.
Summary: I looking for high-performance earphones, and because all my previous experiences with JBL audio devices (computer speakers) were excellent; I bought this.
Terrible mistake.
It does not live up to the high standards of rich audio that you'd expect from JBL.
The sound is so flat and lifeless that you'd find no difference using this and a cheap $4 set.
It claims to reproduce the "full audio range" present on the track and I guess they're right - you can hear pretty much every sound, but they all end up at the same volume level that it sounds cheap anyway.
On the plus side, built-in volume control is pretty okay and sleek; and they also offer you extras such as the airline adapter, the carry case and nice-looking box.
This may be good for a small minority of people looking for something to hear all the sounds on the track, but for the rest of us, it is just a plain waste of money!
