"Not a big fan" on by sjfrench

Pros: Price seemed fair compared to the Bose

Cons: Didn't block out the jet noise much

Summary: Overall...big disappointment. I did my research and thought I had chosen the right product. On my first trip out I was disappointed. The left ear had a continual rattle, the noise reduction really wasn't that significant, and I still had to turn up my iPod full blast just to hear it. I'd pass if I were you.

"battery cover irreplaceable" on by Charley Cableen

    Pros: decent noise suppression

    Cons: battery cover irreplaceable

Summary: The first day I used my new HA-NC100 headphones on a bus they worked well, but the battery cover fell off and was lost. I emailed JVC but received no response.

I called JVC, they said I have to buy a new set of headphones, they would not sell me a replacement battery cover.

Since I researched these headphones on CNET before buying them, I am posting the events described above to warn others against buying this product.

I'm really disappointed in JVC, I thought it was a better company than it is.

1/31/07 I got an email reply from Margarita Trevino at JVC telling me I could in fact order a battery cover for $7 + $7 shipping & 85 cents tax. Pricy for a piece of plastic but better than buying new headphones. Glad Margarita knew more about it than the guy I talked to on the phone lasty week. I'm relieved. I ordered the replacement & should have it in 7 to 10 days.

After about 3 months the noise suppression feature quit working. They still function as headphones.

"cool features but sound is below expectations" on by romansf

    Pros: features, and compact design

    Cons: sound quality

Summary: sound quality is really bad, esspecialy if you listen to any streams. I am listening to CD quality streams and I am having to adjust my equalizer in order for sound to not sound distorted.

"Terrible, barely noticed a difference" on by rascaldoc

    Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: dont fit well, noise circuitry did not work for me

Summary: I wear hearing aids, and travel a lot. I wanted a set that would cancel noise. These would not even block out sound from my TV, nor diminish it enough that I could notice. Ear pieces did not fit tightly either due to the construction of them.
