"Great for the Frequent Airline Traveler" on by thairishmtnbiker
Pros: Excellent and effective for the money
Cons: Not as effective as much more expensive models
Summary: I've had the opportunity to compare these headphones against the Bose QuietComfort2 headphones. I must admit that the Bose are somewhat more effective, but nowhere near 4x as effective to justify 4x the price.
I typically travel at least two trips every month, and the JVCs have become an important part of those trips. I plug them into my laptop, turn on the noise cancelling, and turn on a movie. Then I have a comfortable and effective mini-theater. It works so well that the flight attendents have to shake me back to reality to offer me a drink, because I don't hear them talking to me.
Some background noise still leaks through, but the headphones work so well that I'm listening to the movies or music at a much more comfortable level. Also, the padding on the ears is very soft and very comfortable.
My opinion is that this is one of the best travel-specific buys that I've made in some time.
