"Superb deal if you can buy it from online dealer"
5.0 starson by SactoGuy018Pros: Excellent, non-peaky treble. Bass very clear and not "boomy." Efficient enough that it can be driven to pretty high volume when directly connected to iPod headphone jack.
Cons: Wished JVC offered a version with iPod-compatible in-line controller.
Summary: I just got this in-ear monitor (IEM) through Amazon at a very reasonable price. At that reasonable price, I consider them a major steal: the sound quality is flat-out excellent, with very clear treble, and clean, non-boomy bass. You'd need to spend way over US$100 to get an IEM that could match the sound the HA-FXC80 offers.
The only pity is that JVC doesn't offer a version of the HA-FXC80 with iPod-compatible in-line controller, because that would make this IEM a serious competitor to the Klipsch Image S4i and Etymotic mc3 headsets.
