"Worth the cost!"on by physiosux
Pros 1. Budget friendly AND does what its supposed to do
2. Comes w/a traveling kit
3. Mostly light weight
4. Only needs one AAA battery compared to other noise canceling which require 2
Cons 1. Cable is way too short, so if you want to move w/ them maybe invest in a longer cable
2. Inserting the battery is tricky though not too cumbersome
Summary Overall, I rated these a 4/5 because I had bought and tried and then returned 3 other noise canceling headphones that were in the same price range only to be disappointed. The quality of the JVC cant be beat for this price range and although I havent tried Bose I can only say that $300+ is way too pricey for the average consumer. It is also true from other posters that even without the noise canceling feature on these have a sound insulation effect. And with the noise canceling on, there is no hum or hiss- which is just awesome. I definitely recommend.
Pros Comfortable. Comes with a case and airplane attachments. Noise canceling is good. Good sound quality
Cons Other sounds, like conversations around me are able to penetrate rather easily.
Summary For the price, these are an okay pair of headphones. I'm a little disappointed that the padding of the headphones, while comfortable, does not block out more sound. I tried on a pair of Boss headphones in-store once, and the padding blocked out almost all sound... and they weren't even noise canceling headphones! I will try them on my trip this summer and maybe revise my review.
Pros Comes with a case
Cons Walking or travelling on a train, plane, the sound cuts in and out! This is apparently a known issue. I listen primarily to Classic Rock and the bass breaks up constantly. They sound terrible
Summary I will not buy another pair of headphones without trying them out first. I don't listen to music at high volumes but when stationary the bass distorts. When walking, or travelling the sound cuts in and out. Unless yous listening to news casts at a moderate volume sitting still, these headphones are unusable. I can't believe they keep getting high ratings. My worst online purchase
Pros comfortable, crisp clear sound. cool hard case.
Cons the battery location. Slightly clunky.
Summary These headphones are better than I expected. My music sounded crisp and clear. With the noise cancelling feature turned off, I had to turn the volume up significantly. I couldn't her a train in the background that I usually hear at nighttime. Can't wait to use them on my next long airplane flight.
"STELLAR SOUND"on by eighteendumb
Pros Fantastic sound and bass, with the noise-cancelling acting like a bass booster
Pretty much drowns out ambient noise around me
No sound leakage
Cord length is great for personal use
Cons Mostly comfortable, but more than 3 hours and my ear hurts a little
Since the noise-cancelling acts as a bass boost, I always have it on and thus battery life diminishes
Summary For the average audiophile, it's an amazing set of headphones. With moderate use (mostly while working or doing homework), mine have lasted for 3 years and still going strong. I can't compare it to other like-priced headphones because I've never had to use another pair. I'd definitely recommend them.
