"Sound Great, Died in about a year :("3.0 starson by maxnight1189
Pros: Sound AWESOME: nice, balanced bass & quality mids/highs too, relatively comfortable
Cons: DIED IN A YEAR (sound like theyre underwater, its some sort of filtering effect cuz the bass is still good), If you lose the the tips that fit you you're f*ed
Summary: So I have LOVED my Custom-2s for about a year now. The sound quality is by far the best Ive had (although, the only comparisons I have are the Bose TriPorts and cheapo $20 kinds). I listen to them almost constantly: between classes, on public transport, I even overcame my fear of losing them to take them to Europe with me last spring because I simply could not go back to normal headphones (and wore them constantly there too).
For me the medium sized tips fit best, so of course I promptly lost them. They're not as easy as the TriPort tips to lose but you also cant get replacements (other than eBay, I guess) like you can from Bose. So I had to make do with what was left. I could still get a good seal but they would slide out, especially in the morning when my ears were alittle waxy or damp. Id have to clean my ears every time I put my headphones in (good hygiene but OBNOXIOUS!).
And then this week, they all of a sudden died. Well, I guess I knew it would happen sometime, but still...See, the chord is rather short and very thin but it felt protected because of the nice fabric sleeve. However this sleeve isnt fixed very well at either end of the chord so after about 3 months of having them it came off the bottom end and started sliding up the chord, exposing it. I did my best to keep it pulled down, but it was quite determined. So I suppose it was only a matter of time before something with the chord went wonky. And it finally did, a couple of days ago. I feel like for the money they should have lasted alot longer than a year. VERY disappointed.
