"Truly great reproduction; unbelievable value!"4.5 starson by hpaul3
Pros: Smooth musical response, excellent isolation
Cons: Harder parts of the earbud can irritate my ears
Summary: I have used these for five years, and recently thought I could improve upon them by spending up to $100.00 for a new pair of buds. In short, I have tried a $50.00 pair of Sony's and returned them, and a pair of $80.00 Shure e2c and returned them. There is nothing in particular about the Plugs I was dissatisfied with; I just though I could spend a little money and get better sound quality or isolation or both, but these things are so fantastic that I don't think I'm going to try anything else. For the money it's one of the biggest no-brainers around. Smooth bass, natural midrange, detailed highs, and excellent isolation even in very noisy environments, like the cargo compartment of a military cargo aircraft. Fantastic efficiency also. For the isolation to work well, you need just a bit of luck here. One of the supplied foam pieces should work for you, but you'll have to experiment. But for $15.00 it's about as easy as falling off a truck. By the way I'm an audio snob, I listen to everything from bass-heavy acoustic pipe organ recordings to jazz, blues, hip hop and speed metal. I have a pair of Mirage loudspeakers in my home system, powered by Adcom. These stupid little Plugs are almost as satisfying to listen to as that whole kludge. Enuf said. Only disadvantage is occasionally I don't get them inserted into one ear or another just right, and the plastic body can impinge on some of the stiffer parts of my ear to cause a bit of discomfort. Fuss with it a little and it goes away.
