Cord length is neither here nor there especially when it come to major issues as I see it. Although, granted, Sony seems to have thought so too. That's evident by the fact they included an extension. Stil. It does give you a choice and I don't suppose you really want a very long cord with an mp3 player etc.
Uneven cord lengths? (cough) Well. Clearly, like a lot of other earphone makers, Sony has a lot of people with crooked heads just like we all do, eh? hmmm..... So. No surprise there.
What does particularly matter to me however, is the sound quality, or rather, the lack of it. They produce 'some bass, but not a very large amount. They produce some midrange, but once again, not a real lot. They most certainly do produce a lot of trebble though. So if you're a hiss freak with a crooked head which is too close to your butt, these are definitely the phones for you and they come with 3 sizes of ear pad thingies, so you can shove 'em in good and tight (nice touch). Seriously. Don't buy these phones. -
are YOU a moron. the material that coves the wires is so cheap that it rips after only a few weeks of wearing it. i'm not bothered by the behind the neck design, but i am bothered when the material comes off the wire and exposes the wifes underneath.

I bought these earphones and used them for a few months, and then the cord started ripping apart, making the green and orange wires come out. I was sick of the ripped apart cords, so I bought another pair. It seemed that sony started using a different material to cover the wires, and now they dont rip apart!

And then write us, what happened to the cord - actually a part of the cord that goes behind your genius neck? It becomes a GOO!!!!
It happened to my 4 pairs of the famous Sony MDR-EX71SL's. And yes, since i went thru 4 pairs of this crap, I'm not so smart. -
Your comments on reading the directions make me laugh. In the first place, mine had no directions, just a pictogram. More importantly, any earbud that requires directions other than "put the L in your left ear and the R in your right," then disintegrates if you treat them like any other earphone, is defective. I'm sure there are any number of ridiculous ways you could wear these that would hide their weakness, but get real. Earbuds go in your ears, and should survive the experience.

Quality is as expected but the cord length is stupid. Cord gets tangled 100% of the time. If this design is so revolutionary why don't other manufactures have you put the cords behind your head?

I recently purchased these, having read the very good reviews, put them with a sony walkman NWE507 mp3, the volumn is about 1/2 that of the original headphones that came with them. I'm extremely dissappointed, as they are comfortable and lightweight. Have others found this? or is it just mine? Sending them back asap as simply not enough volumn. Any advice, help, appreciated.

These headphones are great, as long as you wear both and under ideal conditions. I know that they are meant to be worn behind the neck, but that is not always possible. Walking down the street, I do not wish to be completely unaware of my surroundings so I need to wear only one bud. This is extremely akward with the assymetrical setup. In addition, the rubber wore out fairly quickly and the copper wires are now exposed on mine!

Mine fell apart after 2 months. Just the moisture in the air started to rot the cheap rubber wire. Soon after the left bud stopped working at all.
