One of the better cell phone developments in the past year has been the proliferation of stereo Bluetooth. While previously it seemed that handset manufacturers were consciously avoiding the feature, a simultaneous push for music phones has, thankfully, made stereo Bluetooth a reality. And as the number of supported phones increases, manufacturers have started to introduce stereo Bluetooth headphones as well. One of Moto's latest entries in the space is the Motorola S9 Bluetooth Active Headphones. Made with the sports enthusiast in mind, these headphones feature a sleek, space-age design that wraps behind your head. For both calls and music, the sound quality was decent--and the fit was relatively comfortable. Priced in the $100 range, they're not exactly cheap, but they won't break the bank either.

Motorola emphasizes the word "active" when mentioning the S9, and by looking at the S9's design, it's clear why. Sleek and aerodynamic, the S9 weighs less then an ounce, which makes it one of the lightest stereo headphones we've seen. It also employs a simple, behind-the-head design that isn't clunky and doesn't look too conspicuous when worn. The rearmost portion of the headset, which holds the power button and charger jack, is the largest part of the S9 at almost an inch wide, but the ends connecting the earbuds taper to a slim diameter of .25 inch. We tested the red-and-blue version, but it also comes in a more subtle gray-and-black model as well. The S9 is water- and sweat-resistant, so you won't have to worry about wearing it during a hard workout.

Thanks to the practical design, we had no trouble slipping the headset on and off. Though the area with the power control and the charger jack is made of hard plastic, the ends are made of a rubberized material that bends easily. The ear hooks slipped easily on and off for us, but users with larger noggins may want to try the S9 before buying. On the whole, the fit is comfortable and the light weight made it barely noticeable, even for longer-wearing periods. The fit was quite secure as well. But the 0.5-inch earbuds did have a tendency to pinch if not positioned just-so. Indeed, it took us a few minutes of fiddling with the earbuds until they slipped comfortably into the ear. On the upside, the ear tips are made a flexible rubber and you get a choice of three sizes.

The controls on the headset were easy to understand and to use. As we mentioned previously, the power control is located on the bottom of the rear end of the headset, just next to the mini-USB charger port. It can be hard to locate when you're wearing the headset, but we can't imagine you'd be turning it on and off excessively. The charger jack is protected by a rubber flap, although the fit wasn't very secure. A small indicator LED sits between the power button and the charger port.

Moto smartly separated the phone and music controls on the S9. A Talk button and the volume control sits just near the left earbud. The former is easy to find and has a soft, tactile feel; the volume control is touch-sensitive and barely needs to be pressed. We haven't seen touch controls in very many headsets, but it's a feature we love on the S9. At times, they could be a bit too sensitive, but overall it was a very user-friendly experience. A music Play button sits near the right earbud and is also touch-sensitive.

We tested the Motorola S9 Bluetooth Active Headphones with the Motorola Razr V3xx. The pairing process took only a few seconds and the connection remained strong. Also, we were able to reconnect instantly after turning both devices off for a short period. Overall sound quality was quite good for all kinds of audio. We could hear callers plainly and there was plenty of volume, even in windy or noisy environments. Callers reported few problems on their ends and we had no trouble being understood by voice-automated calling systems. Our only complaint was that voices on our side sounded harsh and almost robotic at times. However, the effect wasn't constant, so we don't consider it a deal-breaker. Other calling features include voice dialing, call reject, and last-number redial.

Sound from the music player was better than the call sound. We loved the stereo experience and we were impressed by the volume range. Keep in mind that the sound wasn't the sharpest we've heard, but it's more than adequate for most uses. Conveniently, the music automatically pauses when you receive a call, and then resumes after you hang up. We also tested the headphones with streaming video clips and enjoyed solid audio quality. The S9 has a promised battery life of six hours on a single charge.

Bluetooth Motorola headphones NO base, poor sound

Pros: They are wireless. That's it.

Cons: They sound terrible

Review: Having recently purchased the Logitech Boombox, I was so impress with bluetooth technology. I rushed out to my local Best Buy to find bluetooth headphones that I could use at the gym. The Motorola S9 Bluetooth Active Headphones were the only set availble for under $100, so I purchased them. I could not believe how poor the sound was. Compared to my $15 JVC headphones, they had half of the volume and none of the base. I was so disappointed, I took them back.

Good Headset, As Long As You Don't Sweat.

Pros: Design stays put and for the most part out of the way, phone functions well with good audio both ways.

Cons: Music is off balance, with no way to adjust. Sweat often got into the earbud area, aggravating poor audio quality and made the headset uncomfortable.

Review: Disappointing music performance, stay with wired buds or look elsewhere.

very light weight and comfortable

Pros: LIghtweight, good sound, comfortable, no ear pain

Cons: have to re-sync to my phone on occassion

Review: I'm a bluetooth nut. I keep buying different ones in search of the perfect bluetooth. I work from home and use my cell phone constatntly. This bluetooth will stay on all day and I listen to music between calls. The best thing is that my ears never hurt.

They just broke after 2 years

Pros: used them for working out. Worked out for the most part. Fair reception, and cut out all other sound when doing lard work like mowing the lawn.

Cons: Cuts out, not as confortable as I would like. The conneciton for recharging is hard to see, it just broke. Wont charge because the fit is no longer snug. Shopping for a new bluetooth head set for working out.

Review: Overall they worked for me but I would like to see some more refinement

not that great

Pros: the feel is the only pro i have for these, comfortable, sleek and you CAN wear glasses while these are on, but thats all the nice things i have to say about these

Cons: can cover my phone with my hand and get a lost connection. cant carry phone in pants pocket - lost connection.

Review: i started using a pair of motorola BT820 and used them for years. The padding on the earphones was the only thing that went wrong with them (they still work but cant be worn for long due to comfort reasons) i could set my blackberry down and almost walk through the house without even a skip of connection. these s9's can lose connection if i cover my phone with my hand, also i cant put my phone in my pants pocket as this apparently is too far for the headphones to go (im only 5'8") im going to set these S9's aside and try to replace the padding on the old bt820's. not worth the money.

+++ bass response and hrs. of play time per chg.

Pros: Great sound and batteries still last a long time after 3+ years.
USB charger is convenient and they are very comfortable.

Cons: Seems to loose signal from device in varied circumstances.
Not noise canceling.

Review: Based on the price at under $50.00 I am most satisfied with these.
Impressive sound quality, durable, hours of play/short charge time USB chargeable.
Wins all the way with me and I love music and quality sound!

Over 3 yrs of use; through runs, racquetball, and P90X

Pros: Easily pairs with many devices
Battery is great for typical 1-2 hour workouts
Stays on while running
I've had no problem with moisture malfunctions

Cons: Older phones sometimes require multiple tries at pairing
Have to occasionally readjust for comfort while running

Review: Easily paired with my PCs, Macbook, Samsung phones, and iPod. I've worn these through my sweatiest workouts and many times running in the rain, and haven't had any troubles. They're also great for doing chores around the house while streaming music. Maybe I got lucky and have a very average head and ear canal size, but I've had these for over three years, and have probably averaged at least two workouts a week with them with no problems. The sound quality isn't spectacular, but they're perfect for podcasts while working out.

Cons: Not if you sweat...

Review: Been through 3 sets as well as the predecessor model - all the same. Too bad as I liked them a lot at first.

Fits poorly, uncomfortable, sounds like a tin can

Pros: Pairs easily with my iPhone

Cons: The manual is filled with misspellings, and the information about the LED indications is just incorrect. The headphone is uncomfortable, and sounds terrible.

Review: I was being generous at 1 1/2 stars. You'll think the product is defective if you believe the LED indications described in the manual. If you work with it, you'll get it to work, and then be disappointed by the sound. Its like listening to the stereo with tin cans on both ears. Poor fidelity, no base, and it echoes. I guess I'll use it to workout, but it really makes you appreciate the sound from the standard Apple headphones that come with the iPhone. Then there's the pressure that it puts on your ears. It will probably stay in place while I workout, but I wouldn't want to keep it on to just listen to music.

Short lived, and ill fitting!

Pros: None, since it never fit right and stopped working shortly after receiving it!

Cons: The big problem is it did not fit (migh less comfortability) to the point the ear buds barely fit my ears & caused pain! Right after getting it, it stopped working for some unknown reason, I never dropped it etc to cause it to stop working!

Review: I cannot recomment this bluetooth without it being adjustable! I find it hard to believe the company did not think to make this blue tooth adjustable! If it was adjustable I would think it would have been a great product for a wider range of people! Unless you're a small person, do NOT buy this product-it is a waste of money!

Not a good BT headset

Pros: Seems to work well at the start and a decent design

Cons: Terrable phone connection, not sweat proof, horrible ear bud design...

Review: It just works then dosent work... not a good buy at all... The ear buds fall out and hurt your ear, the buttons stop working most of the time and when they do work they wont work with my device a MOTOROLA Droid... you would think they would work becasue they are both from the same company... Don't buy read the reviews and look and see that the people saying they are good must work for Motorola... cause they are the work ear buds i have ever used!!!

Not recommended for active people

Pros: Good sound, good range, good fit, comfortable

Cons: Not sweat resistant at all!!

Review: I bought these for the sole purpose of using them at the gym. I wasn't that worried about the call clarity because I don't take calls while I am working out. At first, it paired with my Motorola Driod seemlessly. Went for a walk and the muisc was loud and clear. Received a phone call and didnt have any problem hearing nor did the person know I was on a bluetooth headset. I thought "wow" these are great. Then I take them to the gym. All downhill from there. The first 20 minutes jogging and working up a good sweat, the headphones cut off. I try and turn them back on to no avail. I had to finish my workout w/o my usual tunes. Pretty pissed off at this point. The next day they wouldn't turn on or recharge. The day after that, they turn on butI have problems with the volume buttons. A week after the headphones seem to be working fine. So I take them to the gym again and what do you know, they cut off again after I start sweating. Same ol' problems continue. As soon as I think to return them, I try them out and they seem to work. However, I do have to make sure they are fully charged before using them or I can't even turn them on, even if I only used them for 15 min or so before. I don't know what to do because if I ship them back, I am sure they will work whenever they get them. I am very disapointed in this product because it is advertised as for the "active lifestyle" and "sweat resistant" which they are not!! I would not recommend these for anyone who intends to use them while exercising for more then 15 minutes or as soon as you sweat, you will lose your tunes.

Headsets work great with a iPod Touch 2nd Generation

Pros: Headsets have a good clean sound and easily pair up with the iPod Touch

Cons: The sound is somewhat lacking in bass but does have clean treble delivery. The piece behind your head is in the way when sitting in a high back chair or lying down.

Review: There are a few issues when used with the iPod Touch 2nd generation.

1. The software in the 2nd generation iPod Touch must be upgraded to at least 3.1.3 to enable Bluetooth.

2. The left and right channels are reversed in the S9 earpieces compared with the wired iPod earbuds.

3. The microphone in the S9 is not recognized by the Skype application in the iPod Touch so the headset cannot be used to make or receive calls.

4. The iPod equalizer or volume controls have no effect on the audio in the S9 headset. The S9 volume control buttons do work however.

5. The pause/play button on the S9 controls the iPod just fine but the skip forward/reverse buttons have no effect.

Great unit, crappy ear bud design .

Pros: I have had mine for a year now and it is a great unit.

Cons: The only problem is loosing the rubber ear buds. Now I see Moto will sell me a replacement set for $10. Given the crappy adhesion in their design they should give you three sets.

Review: For $40 bucks they are great. Just store them in a plastic bag so you don't loose the ear pads. I just starting doing this after loosing three of them in my gym bag/briefcase.

Great sound, but not for active wear, lousy cust svc

Pros: Great fit, light weight, and good sound. The controls worked well (for the 1st 6 months)

Cons: These are not for active outdoor wear - sweat will cause the buttons to stop working. Battery life is limited after 6 months to about 1 hour. Very difficult to get through to customer service.

Review: I bought these for running and really loved them. The first set worked well for about 6 months, then, the buttons only worked part of the time. They apparently do not handle perspiration very well and it gums up the internals - no way to resolve.

Since they had a 1 year warranty at the time, I called Customer Service. Their phone tree was a hellish way to contact them as there were no options for this product and it put you in a perpetual loop. I finally selected an option for a product and was directed to somewhere in India - but at least I had a real person to initiate the process. Within a week, I had a new headset and was happy.

The new headset worked well for another 6 months. Now, I am looking for any competing product that is lightweight, comfortable, with good sound, that handles active sports such as running.

These would be great for just listening - but you don't need the sports design for that.

Stopped charging after 14 months and became useless.

Cons: A little bulky over the ears for women. Headset stopped charging just after 1 year warranty expired; Motorola technician said to throw it away and buy a new one! Hmmm.

Great idea, horrible implementation.

Pros: Nice size, nicely placed controls, good sound quality.

Cons: No resistance to moisture, breaks OFTEN. VERY often. Like every few hours.

Review: I've just returned my 3rd pair of these. Originally a gift, it broke about 30 minutes after receiving it. Returned via a very difficult return process (mail) to Motorola, which took weeks. Second pair broke in 10 days. Returned. Third pair, now broken, now in the garbage. I loved everything about them, except for the fact that it seems like if they come in contact with sweat from your head (like if you're--duh--working out while wearing headphones), or walking down the street on a clear, not rainy, day. Or sneezing too hard. That will break them too. I don't understand why anyone would give these more than 1 star rating just for that reason. If it wasn't for that, it would get a FULL 5 STARS from me, instead of a mere half-star.

great value for money..

Pros: pairing with my mac and my nokia 2700 classic was such a breeze. sound was a notch better than expected but cannot be compared with my wired ultimate ears. discreetly functional without having to appear like someone from mission control.

Cons: i do not know if its the nokia or the s9 that causes so many signal drops when i jog outdoors. oddly, the music never drops when im listening to it inside my car. the volume isnt as loud as i want it to be. the battery life can be improved upon.

Review: i wouldnt recommend it to an audiophile unless he is willing to sacrifice audio quality with wireless convenience. do not expect thumping bass because you will be disappointed. the controls on both sides of the ears are very intuitive. you may get "wows" from your friends because of its uber chic form factor

Woah!!! overrrraated!

Pros: Sleek design, great (if now standard) controls, comfortable for even a big head like mine, lightweight

Cons: AWFUL sound quality!

Review: I am a musician, and audiophile. I have tested these with my iPod Touch, and HTC touch pro, and as soon as music started playing on both, I feel like I expected chicken soup and got unsalted broth. There is hardly ANY low end. Vocals are overbearing and yet thin. I have JABRA BT620s stereo bluetooth headphones, and there is simply no comparison between them in terms of sound quality. The jabras have great bass, and full clear sound. The motorola's just... don't. Call quality was even worse, voices are very muffled compared to the jabras or headset use. People on the other end seemed to hear me ok, but I didn't ask for a comparison from them. Bottom line, I feel like if you have a taste for sound quality, these headphones are not what you're looking for. Also, I have noticed a lot of cutting out, which seems to be echoed in other reviews. I WISH my Jabra headphones weren't so large and goofy looking, as that's the primary reason I wanted to switch to the S9. But I'm hungry, and bland broth just won't do!

Pros: it works well with all my other bluetooth enabled device except for my new lg env touch.

Cons: cannot use while lying down also customer support is not very helpful.

Review: the headset works well with my lg chocolate, my moto q9m , my laptop but not with my new lg env touch. It would pair with no problem but would keep disconnecting after a few seconds. Alright sound quality, poor bluetoth connection

Pros: I like the fit of the headphones and the controls were awesome. Very Convenient to wear. Tested them running, worked very well if phone wasn't in your pocket.

Cons: you can't keep your audio player in your pocket, it has to be somewhere on you above the waist, or the sound will cut in and out and the sounds quality was tinny at times.

Review: Good if you are using them to work out if you don't keep your phone in your pocket or if you are going to use them with your phone not in your pocket in general and don't strive to find perfect audio quality

Pros: Great sound quality if you are looking to chill on the couch or zone on the train during a commute.

Cons: Sweat! Don't use it for your workouts! I have gone thourgh 1 a month for the past 10 months! The retiler finally stopped exchanging them. Perhaps one day soemone will realize that there is a market for these in the fitness areana!

Review: It was built with a sporty looking design with a rubberized look giving the impression that it holds up for active individuals. This is not the case at all, sure it works after 1....3.....5 workouts, but excahnging a device ever 30 days......does not impress me!

Pros: Controls of the ipod are great when they work.

Cons: Any amount of sweat and the controls either stop working or get stuck. Volume kept beeping as it was stuck in the UP position. Unit turned off all byself at least 3 times everytime I used it. I would have to turn it back on while I was running.

Great stereo sound, phone audio in one ear only.

Pros: I have own this head seat for several years and love the stereo music sound quality.

Cons: The phone audio only plays through the left ear. Also, The mic is fragile and will quit working if you subject it to wind. If you sweat a lot while working out, the sweat may cause the headset to stop working.

Review: I am on my second one of these since the mic quit working, but the unit was under waranty and was replaced. Now on my second one the mic quit again. I think it is beacuse I used the head set in the car going down the highway with the windows rolled down. I think the wind killed the microphone. Also, I sweat a lot while working out and the sweat has on several occasions caused it to stop working. However, It did work again after drying out. I have enjoyed this unit for it's stereo sound quality but I am looking for something less fragile. I may or may not find something better but I will replace this unit with some other brand, maybe the Altec Lansing T903.

The 1st day review.

Pros: They feel good and not killing my ears by hanging on the backside of them, also I dont mind the controls they work for me.

Cons: The back hangs too low on my neck and when you look up they seem to pull out of the ear, also I was expecting more volume from them,I like boomers I guess,I will say this they are worth getting.

Review: I would buy them for the money its worth it. I like the way they mute the music when a call comes in, and the calls are xtra clear on both ends, the only reason I gave them 3 stars is the volume of the music and the way they pull out of the ear when you look up. I dont know what the new S9 HD headset is like BUT wish I could get my hands on them if they are better than these. However these could use more bass, Im not saying NOT to get these buy allmeans try them out I think you will like them..But shop around dont pay $100 for them..

Almost Perfect

Pros: 1. Controls are separated & easy to use.
2. Connected easily with a Blackberry Curve 8830.
3. Lightweight, small & portable.
4. Sound quality.
5. Wireless audio for both MP3 & phone calls.
6. Uses same charger as MotoROKR or Blackberry C

Cons: 1. Does not work with radio applications on the Blackberry, like Pandora.
2. Little if any adjustment to ear pieces.

Review: I bought two of the Moto S9 headsets, one for me and my Blackberry Curve, the other for my teen son and his MotoROKR. After charging the device, I was able to easily connect it via Bluetooth to my phone. Once I'd navigated to my music, the headset worked like a charm. I love the portability of the headset, which enables me to listen to music without wires, and still not miss a phone call. The headsets fit both me and my son without any worry of them falling off, although the ear pieces are harder than I'd expected, not as adjustable. The only real disappointment I had was in learning that the headset doesn't work when I launch the app, Pandora, to listen to music via my phone's radio application. (Motorola does not advertise this capability, so it was more of wishful hoping on my part.) But it does work perfectly in playing my MP3s, and I have a large enough memory card to provide plenty of music, so that functionality and the portability the headset provides far outweighs any negatives. My next purchase will be Bluetooth adapters for my (and my son's) iPods, because the instructions that came with the device indicate the headsets will work with multiple devices! So, all in all, it delivers on what I needed...portable wireless headphones for both music and cell phone calls.

Great....But!

Pros: The sound quality is perfect for what I need, the ability to answer a call and have the music pause is a great point, and the >>(fwd) or the << (rev) for the music player is great for when I want to play it again, but....

Cons: The buttons are so sensitive that they have a tendency to turn the volume way up or way down with just a simple touch or on their own, and the music buttons fwd & rev have problems. It is like someone is remotely changing my music and volume. Scary!

Review: It would appear that there are some real problems with the touch sensors and the circuitry that could be fixed with more "easy to identify" "braille" or some other "sense of touch" identifiers, that would reduce the number of times I had to press the buttons to find the right one. But it took about 4 1/2 months of constant use to get to this point. Is that too much? I thought it would have lasted a little longer.
.............But it is great for driving and the music quality sounds soooo good that I will probably get a new one, save the paperwork this time and the receipt, and try to have it fixed on warranty if the next one does the same thing.

Tight fit makes otherwise great headset a dealbreaker

Pros: -Great sound for basic music. Deep bass and relatively clear sound.
-Stereo Bluetooth
-Fits snugly (more on this in cons).
-Nice, sporty look.

Cons: -The sound isn't great for discriminating listeners. Due to lack of equalizer, this device isn't meant to be a used primarily for just listening to music.
-The thing is waaaaay too tight. It's not adjustable. I had a headache after using it!

Review: If it were not for the tight fit, I might have kept it. But the fact that it lacks any mechanism to adjust it made me return the thing.

Short life-span and too expensive

Pros: All the features that don't last very long are cool - see cons.

Cons: So this phone only lasted about a month for me. All the controls and bluetooth and phone features and volume control and playlist control are great, but when the phone stops working after just a couple long workouts - LAME!

Review: I'm pretty sure this headset flaked out after a farily strenous workout. It probably got a little sweat in system somewhere. It didn't work for a little while - then it started working again and flaking out. Bummer. I expected a headset that could withstand a little sweat - and it was too expensive.

What a piece of garbage

Pros: It would be great - if it worked.

Cons: These are a damned disgrace. $100 headphones, and after four days of use they quit - who could possibly make headphones for physical activity that get shut down by sweat?

Review: Avoid them like the plague. They are simply not fit for their function. They are in the trash now, and it will be a cold day in hell before I touch another Motorola product. As I said, a damned disgrace.

Poor Connection Quality

Pros: The concept is good, comfort is reasonable. It is great to have headphones without the wires.

Cons: Connection quality is very poor. The connection keeps "skipping" or loosing the signal for a second or two at a time. The only way to keep the signal up is to hold your bluetooth deivce up to the headphones.

Review: I sent it in to Motorola to have it repaired, and they sent a new one with the same problem. The intermittent loss of connection seems to be a design flaw that can not be corrected.

Bottom line, is it was a good idea, but poorly implemented. I had expected more from Motorola.

For reference, I was using this with a Motorola phone equipped with bluetooth and MP3 music functions.

Wow Great buy.

Pros: Sound, Feel, Loud

Cons: Outside. Sometimes, if placed to low it doesn't sound good.

Review: I got these around Christmas 08'.

I am using this headset with the BlackJack 2 and I love it. However, be forewarned if you plan on doing a lot of running with these headsets, I personally have found that they bounce up and down distorting wearing them both ways.
They do however, give great sound quality for the Classic rock that I listen to.

They will not hold up.I have had 4 in one year

Pros: the sound works well indoors for a while and when works sounds pretty good

Cons: the key is when if works. I am on my 4th one. I bought it for the gym but sweat will shotly render the controls useless.

Review: motorola has no problem replacing the unit , however the unit does not stand up. I have had limited use on the 3rd one I have to try to make it last longer to no avail. Does not work well outdoors as it skips. My warantee is now over so when this one goes that's it. Good for one year. but I had to pay shipping back to motorola I believe the cost was about $9 or so so for me now that is anothr $27 added on to the price of unit. I would not recommend this product. i love the idea of it and it's great when it works , but it won't work for long.

Disappointing. Useful, but not functional.

Pros: A2DP sound quality is great, Pairing works fine with both my Samsung U550 and USB dongle for my computer.

Cons: Will not fit me for any length of time. Quickly becomes too loose and uncomfortable.
Mono sound when using mic, surrounding noises drown out my voice quite easily.

Review: I was hoping this headset would be my one-stop shop for audio. I was disappointed.
While it will fit me comfortably for a short period of time, it quickly becomes too loose (i do have a narrower head) and uncomfortable.
The microphone is completely unusable in anything but a perfectly quiet environment, and even then there is an annoying background hiss.
I found a place to buy it for 42 dollars and I still feel like i didn't get my money's worth. I'm back to using a $20 corded headset, and holding my phone to my ear.
I only use the S9 when i'm listening to music and cleaning my room or doing something away from my computer.

Great Product

Pros: Battery Life is good.
Nick Packaging
Charges with mini-usb
Works well with Nokia 6085
Cheap price

Cons: Occasionally it drops sound when there is obstacle between it and bluetooth transmitter.

Review: Overall I think it is a wonderful product. I listen to podcasts all the time while I am doing things at home. Wired headphones get in the way to often and in general do not last very long, wires beak fairly often. The Motorola S9 has been the perfect solution for me. I use it with a Nokia 6085 bluetooth cell phone. The only complaint I really have is that it loses reception occasionally if I put the cell phone in my front pocket. I get around this by putting it in my back pocket which gives it better reception. This may be a limitation of the technology, or related to the cellphone transmitter. I am not sure since I have never used it with any other bluetooth devices.

Perfect for the right application

Pros: Sound is really good and the controls simple

Cons: I was disappointed that I couldn't listen to my PC stereo feed without an adapter, but that was clearly stated in the manual.

Review: I bought these phones as an alternative to standard earbuds for listening to the MPEG player on my Nokia smartphone. Not sure if I look cool or nerdy wearing them but the earbuds stay in your ear much better than the cheap wired sets. Comfort is OK, they are more comfortable than similar non-Bluetooth headphones like the RCA HP260.
I really would like to use the S9 with my laptop but will need to get the adapter. My Dell laptop actually does recognize and link with the S9 but not for stereo sound, so I guess I would only use it if the Dell became a cell phone.

What a piece of junk

Pros: Light weight, good fit.

Cons: Very poor quality product. Motorola should be ashamed of themselves.

Review: I received this as a gift. The first one died 1.5 miles into my first run with it. One earpiece became very staticy, the sound became very "a.m. radioish" and it started advancing through my music libray on it own. Sent it back for a replacement, the second unit was DOA (the volume controls did not work, I don't even think the switches are installed),

Waterproof? Bull****!

Pros: The sound quality is very good. Hands free is great while working out.

Cons: Supposedly water proof, I have had to mail these in 3 times to Motorola because they completely stopped working. This is simply from biking or running. Now I can't get them replaced even if I wanted to.

Review: Not waterproof/sweatproof. The headphones gradually stopped functioning with the buttons on them. Eventually they stopped working all together. I had to send them back to Motorola 3 times because they completely stopped working. I am a runner and biker and saw that
"Work it Out - Combining ease-of-use with the latest Bluetooth wireless technology¹, the water and sweat resistant Motorola S9 is the ideal wireless headwear for the active music lover. Now, be connected and listen to favorite songs during those tough workouts, without getting tangled in wires!² "

Well, not really the case. Now because I had to fiddle around with the nearly three months without the headphones (the three times I sent them back) I can't get them replaced again. Not that I would really want to. Just watch out if you work out with these. Bogus

They sound good and wireless is nice.

Has abysmal durability for a sports product. Mine broke

Pros: Good stereo sound and blue tooth wireless connectivity. But these things are to be expected and that's why I bought it.

Cons: The fit is limited in that it will not fit a broad range of head sizes. Additionally, the volume button broke after 3-4 uses. I returned the product and bought another. It suffered the same defect. The balance is poor for runners.

Review: The S-9 is a poor quality headset. Although, the sound was good - the good sound alone is not enough to overcome the poor fit and the abysmal reliability of the buttons. I originally purchased the S-9 as a headset for running to use with the music feature on my mobile phone. I found that the headset bounced too much on my head and that the earbuds never would sit well in my ears. The Motorola S-9 does not have any adjustment capability and thus I could not re-size it too fit. While the weight of the S-9 is light most of the weight is concentrated in the portion of the headband that rests behind the head, low on the neck; it was this part that bounces while running. The durability was also very poor because mine broke after 3 or 4 uses. The volume button was the first part to break. The most frustrating part was that it was the volume increase button that broke - but the volume decrease button did not... hence I turned it down and could not turn it back up - bottom line DO NOT BUY

Don't buy this, wait for next generation stuff.

Pros: The sound quality was like of normal headphone, but there wasn't anything good about it.

Cons: Wasted of my money, since the sound consistence was horrible. There would be constantly lag ever few sec in music, giving me headaches, and I was pairing it with my rizr. The material isn't very sturdy either, since it broke when i drop it once.

Review: I really dislike my s9, even though I must admit that it really had nice sound quality and pairing was very easy. However, when listening to music, the sound would lag or jump as i called it since, there would be many moment in a short songs where I would hear nothing for awhile, sometime for even up to like five seconds and I would have my rizr right next to me. The material isn't as sturdy as one would think since it broke the first time I drop it and I ve been trying to glue it back together but I gave up since the jumping in the music gave me head ache anyways. compare to the old generation, the sound was better but the steady stream of music was poor, and should be re-evaluated.

True, Decent Review

Pros: confortable( but can't allow head to rest so its not for airplane voyager...)
nice look
wireless :)

Cons: i dont like the buttons

Review: Actually im selling cellphone... that's my job and i'm good at it. Most review are done on phone usually stereo bluetooth but not designed to do it good... a razr v3 is not made to listen lot of music... if you have a phone like this there's no purpose in buying this... But if you have a samsung instinct or a blackberry storm or anyphone really made to listen music youll see those headphone are great.
I'm actually working out with them with phone(instinct) in a pouch at my waist and theres not much disconnection maybe 1 or 2 times per hour... Neither had a problem with sweat like ive read earlier here. But if you sweat a lot probably not recommended

no luck with this item

Pros: Great sound - Great for jogging (when it is working)

Cons: Hardware problems. The On - Off button, and the volume control all stopped working after a very short time.

Review: Don't waste your time with this one. I loved this product when I first bought it - the sound was terrific and I was comfortable enough to wear for my 20 mile week-end runs (I am a marathoner). I bought two of them - and I had the same problem with each one. The on button ************ and I couldn't turn it on. I got a repacement from Motorola (under warrenty) but now the volume button does not work. I will send it back again, but what a pain!

Pros: awesome sound, cheap (OEM from ebay ~$20), hold in place very well, battery last long enough. auto shut-off after 1 hr

Cons: in-ear design caused my right ear infection :(

Review: got it for a great price on ebay, looks authentic but even then it sounds awesome. have it on me all the time now...

too bad i just found out i have sensitive ear as my right ear is now infected... :( if ur ear is sensitive, the in-ear design would be dangerous for you. other wise, its sounds awesome and the person on the other end hear very clearly.

Must be close to your phone to work

Pros: Good sound when working and reasonably comfortable after you get it on

Cons: I use it with my Blackberry Curve and as long as the two are close enough, the connection and sound are fine, but with any movement - like running, biking or even walking fast, the headset looses the connection and there are large gaps in the sound.

Review: I really wouldn't recommend it - there are too many other products that are much better out there. An example is Plantronics Pulsar 26 - cheaper, as good if not better sound and much easier to use ... it doesn't look as cool, but a better choice overall.

Great when new after 30 days in gym cease to work right

Pros: Good sound and easy to use when new. Keep going back to VZW store and exchange approx every 30-45 days

Cons: After about 30 days of use in the gym the buttons either cease to work or the the buttons activate without being pressed. Also the speaker and handsfree phone mic will fail with sweat sometimes as well.

Review: I really like the fit and quality when new. I wish they would seal the unit up better to protect it from the sweat that is causing the button failures. Since April 07 I have had 5 pairs and currently need to exchange once again. Is there a new revision out yet. I will research and if so let everyone know.

NOT Sweat Resistant

Pros: Sound good, fit comfortably, comes with nice arm-band

Cons: Microphone is weak, buttons stop working if it gets sweat on it

Review: I like the unit for listening to music, but people tell me that my voice does not come through very well during telephone conversations. The biggest gripe I have with this unit is that it DOES NOT offer resistance to sweat. I am on my 3rd set, because it seems as soon as sweat gets on them, the volume and or skip/repeat buttons stop functioning, or sometimes just go wild like they are stuck. I would get a refund for these if I could, but have to just settle for getting warranty replacements for them... about time to go get another set.

Great Headset for the ACTIVE user.

Pros: Lightwieght, stylish, comfortable for long use(not by everyone, but I find them great), stable fit(don't bounce around alot), awesome controls, sound quality more than passable

Cons: Battery life could be improved, connection break issues near other 2.4Ghz devices(there are alot of these: cordless phones, wireless networks, other BT devices)

Review: I skateboard everywhere go. These make commuting on my longboard extremely enjoyable. Okay product.

Pros: The fact you can listen to songs and receive calls. Its a well designed form factor.

Cons: 5 people said I sounded like I was in a tunnel. They also said I cut out some. This is due to the fact the S9 does not have noise cancelling properties. Make sure you get them to fit right or your ears could get sore. No base when using for music.

Review: I liked the light weight and stereo sound when listening to music. There is no base but stereo music is good. The instructions will tell you not to let the band touch your neck. Well that could be tough when driving your car. No noise cancelling is a big deal for me. I could hear my contact real well, but some complained the phone experince wasn't good for them.

Great Headphones! Call Answer/Music Stop/Restart A Plus

Pros: I got theS-9's for a birthday present last July. I wear them mainly when cutting the grass and walking the dogs. The sound volume is great. The bluetooth is easy to pair with the Q, Treo and Instinct. Music comes in clear and telephone calls are ok.

Cons: Background noise from callers, but I didn't notice anything. Tight around ears/head. Can be a little unfortable for larger heads. A little over a year and the forward/rewind buttons stopped working for no reason (luckily I got a 3rd party warranty)

Review: These are great headphones. I'll be replacing the ones I have with another pair (black) once I get the check from the warranty company in a week or so. The price, design, fit, volume, clarity of music and calls can't be beat! The ability to answer the phone via the headset, turn volume up or down and forward and rewind music are also a big plus. Waterresistant is a good description. I never wore them in the rain, but I have been soaked from cutting the grass. They hold up well when thrown in a bag with school books and a laptop. The red headphones brought to much attention, so I'm glad they came out with an all black set. Most retail outlets ave them for around $99.00, but you can find them online for as low as $40.00. I paid $75.00 for mine, so I'll be ahead of the game with my new pair. If your looking for a great pair of headphones, look no further.

Had to be replaced twice in the first 8 months.

Pros: Good sound when used to talk on the phone but the sound only works on one side.

Cons: These won't last you more than six months. Sweat will ruin the switches and the antenna sucks. Mine only work if I hold my phone in my hand. If I put it in my pocket, it disconnects. If you gotta have them, you can get 'em on eBay for about $45.

Review: Don't waste your money on these. Your sunglasses won't sit on your ears with them on and if you wear them while lifting weights, you can't lay down to do bench without taking them off. GREAT idea, PITIFUL implementation.

Don't use it for running if you plan to SWEAT!

Pros: Good stereo sound, control locations

Cons: - I've had 2, & both died after ~5-10 runs. Sweat causes ctrl buttons to fail & then the speakers fail too.
- Batt pack is held in the air behind your head, where it bounces uncomfortably while running, or drops down causing poor earpiece fit

Review: Motorola needs to do some real-world testing with real-world runners before releasing their next "athletic" headset. It works great if you don't plan to sweat though. Also, the location of the battery pack is directly behind your head (not lower, against your neck) so if you are using it for a phone call you can't lay down in bed.

Useless for exercising, running

Pros: Sound is very good, switch to calls during music is seamless, controls very effective and easy to use, easy pairing.

Cons: Cannot be worn with eyeglasses, very sensitive to sweat.

Review: I bought these to wear on long runs, based on the positive reviews. I had to take off my glasses and put in contacs for a good, comfortable fit and still see. On the first run on a cool day they worked great with my Samsung music phone. A call came in while I was listening to music, and the switch was seamless. The next time out the weather was warm, and the controls shorted out after 20 minutes. The controls work a few more times after the headset dried out, but eventually quit altogether. The headset is now a piece of junk.

Great wireless headphones

Pros: These headphones have the best sound of any that I have had or tried. The microphone sucks, people can't hear you. I don't use it to talk. When I get a call while listening to music, I turn this thing off and just talk with my phone on my ear.

Cons: Controls need to be switched (music on left-phone on the right). Also, picks up too much background noise. I can't carry on a conversation unless I go to a very quiet spot. Mic. is terrible. People can't hear you.

Pros: Great fit, light weight, can run with them and they don't come loose. Good battery life.

Cons: Not sweat resistant!!

Review: This headset is awesome when it is working. The sound quality is first rate and they are very comfortable. I use them for running and have had them on for over an hour doing so. Problem is they are not Sweat resistant. I replaced the first two pairs within a couple of months. The third set is now out of commission. This one lasted longer as I wrapped a rubber band around the charge port to keep it sealed better. The charge port simply does not seal properly. looks good, feels good, sounds good, and plain works.

Pros: just plain works, not bulky at all... no one can tell you h ave it on.

Cons: nothing to report

Review: this thing does everything it says it will do and does it good. im not an earbud kinda guy. the earbuds fit in my ear, and i can make it fit on my head good. im used to "over the ear" dj headphones... the other motorola dj ones are HUGE and bulky, and heavy, and they have a flashing light on the side. yea im looking to get mugged on my walk home. the plantronics silver headphones are flimsey and cheap, also have a flashing light on the side of them. i wear these headphones with my glasses. i usually have a fitted cap on, maybe a hoodie... i still can make them fit right so they feel good. now they do have a flashing light on the back of them... but its to the back of them which is usually covered by my hoodie even with the hood is down. i tried to black out the light with a sharpie, but the light still shines thru. its like a flashevery 3 to 5 seconds. maybe i'll get some electrical tape and cut a tiny sliver to cover up the light. i havent been mugged, knock on wood. so theyre working out.

they work though just great, sound real good. bassy, good sounding jazz with with a blackberry curve. they work fine with wifi in the same room. they even work fine for uma calls. call quality is good. bluetooth/wifi hasnt been a problem in my apartment i still havent found their microphone, its not visible but it makes good calls. and they DO work for both calls and music while walking with the curve on my hip, holstered.

Great Product!

Pros: -Great volume
-Little to no hiss
-Good coverage/range (but better indoors)
-Controls easy to use once you memorize them

Cons: -Minor distortion with very bassy music
-Cryptic flashing light (but that is all headsets)

Review: I bought this to use with my new Samsung Instinct for Bluetooth Stereo. I'm very impressed with just about all aspects of the unit. They are comfortable but when worn for over two hours, they do start to pinch a tad. Volume is great... battery life too. The controls are easy to use, but take some memorization. I haven't really used them for working out, so I can't make a decision about the "moisture-resistant" claims.

At very loud volumes, "bassy" music can become somewhat distorted

When I bought the unit, I had absolutely no intentions of using it for phone calls - simply because I assumed it wouldn't work well. However, it works perfectly fine in quiet environments! I wouldn't recommend it for driving or walks outside, as the mic boom is far from the mouth. People hear me clearly and they sound fine on my end (however, I've heard much clearer/sharper with regular BT headsets).

The one problem I have with the unit is when I swap it for BT Stereo on my phone with BT Stereo on my MacBook. On certain occasions, it makes me re-pair them each time I want to switch.

Overall.... GREAT product that I'd highly recommend.

sweat will kill them, useable for sports??

Pros: when they work they are great. sound quality good, lightweight etc... basically what the review says.

Cons: within 6 months I have had to get 2 replacements sent to me. I usually run about 5 or 6 mies a day and the sweat will first cause the buttons to stop working, then they wont take a charge and wont turn on.

Review: Dont waste your time if you are going to use them while working out. Otherwise they will probably work for you.... also should be noted, they dont fit all that well if you are wearing glasses that have a thicker piece at the temple.

Worked great initially, buy sweat has killed 3 pairs.

Pros: Great sound from my sony phone

Cons: What more can I say, I have been though 3 pairs in 2 months

Review: I initially bought the monorola basically blind, as the store did not have any demo pairs. Initially I was blown away by the sound from my Sony phone. A problem that I found very annoying is that if the phone is in my pants or shirt pocket, the cound cuts in and out. If I wear the phone on belt holster it is less of an issue. Since I wear a heavy toolbelt at work the belt holster is not available. I also used it with my work phone, which is an LG Shine. I found that with the shine the music volume only goes to about 1/4 of what is obtainable on the sony, but the phone volume is loud and clear.
Now onto the problems I have experienced.
When I am working out in the sun I tend to sweat. Well within 2 weeks the first set shorted out. None of the buttons on the left side (phone control and volume) would work. I took that pair back to best buy and got another. Within 3 weeks the buttons on the right side (the music control buttons) had shorted, which basically killed the headset, as the player kept starting and stopping. I returned the second set to get a 3rd. That was last week. After only 4 days using them at work, the microphone has shorted out. One doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out what happens. Sweat on the ear, or on the head travels down the headband and into the ear buds shorting them out.
When I returned to best buy with the 3rd set they told me I was on my own. So that was a 150.00 lesson learned.

THE WORST PRODUCT

Pros: comfortable, it's a great idea if it worked

Cons: not compatible with iphone 3g, clarity is awful

Review: I was excited when I saw this device on line, and ordered it right away. BIG MISTAKE. First of all, you CAN'T listen to music on the 3G iphone using a bluetooth device, which I didn't realize -- that seems like an odd thing to not be able to do -- until I got this device. That's a bug that apple should address, no?!? Secondly, the clarity for phone conversations is atrocious. I couldn't carry one one conversation without people telling me they couldn't understand a word I said. I returned it after 2 days, and was disappointed. The concept of this headset was tremendously appealing, but the execution is terrible.

cell-digital.com sells S9 knock offs!

Pros: Great if you can get real ones

Cons: drop-outs in some situations, esp. w/some phones

Review: DO NOT BUY FROM CELL_DIGITAL.COM! They sent me a headset in a Motorola box (a bit beaten up) but what was inside was *not* a Motorola S9 but a cheap knock-off. I have a real S9 so I can tell the difference -- first off all there is a holographic sticker on real ones, also there are a lot of small manufacturing defects. Also the real instruction manual is a small bound book in multiple languages, with the Motorola logo. Others have said that the buttons on these knock-offs wear out quickly. Buyer beware!!!

not for truckers

Pros: sounds good to me in a quiet room

Cons: listeners can't understand a word when I call from my moving truck.

Review: I would not recommend this unit for truckers. Neither the Plantronics Discovery, nor the Jawbone can be heard by listeners. The LG Venus could not understand voice commands from the Jawbone which acutually says a lot. I still see cops in California talking on there cells.

Motorcycle Riders, A Must Experience!!

Pros: Sound Quality, Functionality, Helmet Compatability

Cons: Signal Distortion and Loss, Volume Limit To Low

Review: Motorola has hit a homerun with this product if your motorcycle lacks a sound system. I have traveled several thousand miles with my S9 keeping me company the whole way. Looking over several reviews I have come to realize that Bluetooth limitations (location, clothing, ect..) have been forgotten. If you plan on packing your Ipod into the trunk of your cycle expect poor signal. If you pair your Ipod with a "Griffin Streamline" arm band you will find nothing but enjoyment streaming in your ears as the miles roll by.
Utilization of the controls is very intuitive and takes only a moment to master. Volume and song selection controls are well placed and easy to access even with thin riding gloves. Volume up is the upper button and volume down is the lower button, previous song is the upper button and next selection is the lower button. The center left button activates and deactivates hands free calling on all supported Bluetooth phones, the center right button controls play/pause of music.
Sound Quality is excellent for my music and calls. I was able to hear all of my music even at 75mph, on my 2008 Harley Davidson (yes the pipes are very loud, my neighbors will verify) exhaust rumbling, in an urban heavy traffic setting. I was even able to clearly hear incoming callers with ease. This brings us to my first negative (although every Bluetooth headset I have tried has the same issue) callers could not hear me clear enough to have a conversation at speed on my motorcycle. I have discovered that with a full-face helmet (yes it fits inside, and it was fairly comfortable) callers were able to converse relatively well with few repeated words.
Signal Distortion and Loss is always an issued, don't think your current headset has issues, try setting your phone down and walking 30 feet away. Even in a perfect setting 9/10 times you will lose connection. We must be realistic; working in the confines of technology is partly our responsibility. As I mentioned before simply moving my Ipod from my pocket to a "Griffin Streamline" arm band I eliminated almost all signal loss. I now enjoy more than 98% of my music with less than 2% loss due to environment or outside interference.
Helmet Compatibility is excellent so far. I have tried my S9 with more than 20 different helmets and found no fitment issues thus far. This means your helmet will probably fit comfortably while wearing the S9. The S9 comes with three earbud designs that make comfort and "air gap" issues disappear for myself (riders should understand how important this is). I have tried no helmet and half helmet resulting in very good music quality and ability to hear callers but not be heard. A Partial Face helmet that resulted in a slight improvement in my ability to be heard. Finally Full-face modular helmets that resulted in good two-way conversations and excellent music quality and volume.
Volume has been my personal pet-peeve and disappointment with this product. It just will not produce sound above a "safe level" for your ears. Motorola, they are my ears. If you are hard of hearing to begin with this product will be hard to hear at highway speeds unless inside a full face helmet. The cycle consumer may wish for greater volume as I do (however, we could spring for the handlebar mounted stereo system, $300.00 or more is well beyond the cost of these headphones and we still have to suffer wind sheer).
Another added benefit was just mentioned, wearing these headphones nearly eliminates wind sheer noise without being turned on. I like many riders can get a wind noise related headache after a few hundred miles of hard riding. These headphones grip very well and stayed in place through some rough conditions.

Great sound, mediocre reception

Pros: Great controls, volume, clarity, comfortable.

Cons: poor reception depending on what you're doing

Review: I've had it about a week and overall I'm disappointed. It works great when I'm sitting down at the gym, but when I get out running the bluetooth reception is weak, making it near impossible to play music without it skipping every 3sec. I didn't have this problem with similiar headsets with the same bluetooth phone.

Unsatisfactory due to sound playback skipping or dropping out.

Pros: Never mind the Pro's

Cons: Sound skips 90% of the time

Review: Can't get this set to stream audio from MP3's without skipping or dropping out about 90% of the time. Several times a week I have to go through the pairing process over again. Phone calls are all right I guess. I'm afraid to work out with them after reading the other reviews. Wish I had read my CNet reviews before impulse buying!

Great Blue Tooth if you need stereo or have trouble keeping them on.

Pros: wraps nicely around head and is comfortable. You can download music onto phone than listen to them on the headphones anywhere. If a call comes through the music pauses and the call comes in,

Cons: Sometimes get some static but noth all the time. Buttons can be a little hard to get used to.

Review: I had a Samsung 180 which was great but didnt always stay in my ear. So I bought a stereo compatible phone. These are perfect for my needs. Where them while driving is about the best. Listen to downloaded tunes, sound is great and so it bass. When a call comes through the music pauses and the call comes in one ear not two, which is nice because you should have one ear free to hear traffic. You dont have to plug the plugs in your ear just wrap the blue tooth around your head and it will come close enough. Has voice activation if your phone has it. I just charge it at night and its ready to go the whole next day.

Overall, great product

Pros: Lightweight, great sound quality, easy controls

Cons: Frequent loss of connection

Review: I love to use the Motorola S9 when I go running. I have to position my ponytail just right though so it doesn't get in the way of the back of the headset. For some reason, connectivity is often in and out when lifting weights or working out on different equipment but I don't seem to have any problems while running. I have a Nokia 5300, but my husband experienced the same problem with his Motorola Rizr. I usually just use it for running because of this, but I still love it and think it's a great product.

Good Bluetooth, but uncomfortable for long periods of time, and horrible sound quality.

Pros: Easy and reliable Bluetooth connection, good phone features.

Cons: Uncomfortable, and horrible sound quality

Review: I bought (and returned) my S9 for $130. The bluetooth features are great, however the headphones are uncomfortable, and sound quality is horrible. The S9's simply do not justify the price (even if I would have bought them online for $70-80).

Bluetooth - I paired my S9 with my Samsung P2 and LG VX8300, and was able to connect to them both simultaneously and separately without issues. Both connections were strong as I was able to walk down a floor from my room and onto my basement steps before they started to skip. I also connected them to my computers and quality was the same.

Build Quality - The buttons are nicely placed, but I personally don't like to touch buttons, as mine were not as responsive as others have said, especially sense I'm a P2 user. The headphones are uncomfortable. With them pushing into your ears, after long periods of time they can give a you headache. However, the headphone are very light, durable, and flexible.

-Sound

Sound quality for the S9's phone features are decent, and callers didn't find my voice distorted, but that's the end of the positives.

The S9's music quality is just horrible. Bass is non-existent, and highs can become distorted at times. I tested this my Samsung P2, LG VX8300, and both my computers, and found this to be consistent. The $10 wired headphones at Wal-mart are better in this regard. I know the limitations of bluetooth music, but poor music quality on headphones of this price, there's no excuse.

Three units - all of them crapped out within days!

Pros: Nice (as long as you don't sweat AT ALL!)

Cons: Sweat kills them EVERY TIME!

Review: I've always trusted the Motorola brand name. Not so much anymore. After my first pair of S9's quit working after two workouts, I thought it must be a fluke and returned them for another pair. When the second pair did the same thing, I grew concerned and returned them again. Now I'm on my third pair, and they have ceased to respond as well (after the first workout no less!). Complete waste of $129 dollars! Worst product Motorola has ever produced, IMHO. They are advertised as being for "active" users, like runners, tennis players, etc. But as soon as you break even a drop of sweat, the buttons on the side cease responding. Then the volume starts going all the way down BY ITSELF and you can no longer use the headsets. Een after they dry, the buttons still don't respond anymore. COMPLETE CRAP! Don't buy these headsets unless you plan to use them in an air-conditioned environment while you drive or sit at your desk. Don't even THINK about exercising with them or you will suffer the same fate as my three units have! Also watch out for fakes, especially on Ebay. Motorola's site has a guide to identifying fake S9's. I didn't want to beleive all the negative reviews, but I must say I wish I would have listened and bought something else!

Don't get them if you sweat

Pros: Works great indoors

Cons: Spotty reception outdoors and buttons don't work if you sweat

Review: I bought these to use with my LG Voyager phone. It paired easily and worked great indoors with decent sound quality. I am 6' tall and I run with my phone in my hand. On the downswing it sometimes goes dead, particularly in areas with a lot of homes or car traffic, which is more irritating than I would have guessed. I have a pretty large goofy head and it is not a great fit, the back touches my neck. My large goofy head tends to sweat quite a bit, and after about 5 uses some new features appeared. Most notably; the buttons ceased working entirely and occasionally it would play the first 15 seconds of the song and then start over (when this happens 3 times in a row it really makes you want to stop running.) A restart of the headphones usually stops that feature. The sound quality also continuously depreciated with use (probably because of sweat.) These are probably a good fit for people with normal to small sized heads that don't sweat much. People with plus sized heads or people that sweat should not buy these.

Major disappointment

Pros: The design

Cons: Poor connectivity, fussy.

Review: A great design holds mediocre technology. Saying that pains me. I love the idea, I love the fit, I want Motorola to do well, but ...

Issues:

Pairing - never smooth. Maybe it'll pair with my device (BB pearl, which never has any problems with any other BT device), maybe it won't, and if it does, music may or may not come through the earphones.

Playing - Besides being a temperamental pairing partner, the connection constantly drops. It's not just once in awhile, but every 10 seconds. It only happens when streaming music, not when using it for the phone. On some days, it might drop "only" every 5 minutes, but those good days are rare.

I've given up on it. It has also soured my opinion of Motorola to do bluetooth right.

if this is the start for stereo bluetuth i cant wait for the next

Pros: great music sound and calls sound great at my end

Cons: callers tell me that i don't sound as good as regular phone and i wish the phone sound would come out both ears like jara bt620 does

Review: the bass is amazing with these but you have to make sure you seat them well in your ear air tight to get the full bass. for those people that experience music cut outs this is the phone because i had an lg shine that never cut out and a nokia 6555 that does and it was the same with the jabra so blame the phone not the head sets i wish they would cancel out noise in the mic callers complain they cant hear me good
in the car, they hear the tv at home to. this is my only real complaint. i hope they make an improved version of this, keep the design also i wore these in the shower probably not smart after i notice a loss of bass in the right side but it came back later that night it probably dried out

Don't waste your money

Pros: Look cool and work okay indoors or in the car

Cons: Frequent cut outs and cannot use outdoors

Review: These look cool and were comfortable to wear even with glasses. However, that's about all the good I can say about them. They have very short battery life compared with other headsets. I had fairly good music quality indoors with cutting out pretty rare. Try to use outside and the music cuts out (sounds like skipping) constantly. The enclosed pamphlet says to not wear around waist but closer to bluetooth unit. Even with my phone up around my neck the headset would not work outdoors. Also the call quality was poor from what callers could hear. CNet gives a lower rating to the Sony Bluetooth headset but it has worked perfect for me. Great sound quality on both music and phone, lots of additional features, easy to use buttons and best of all it works indoors and outdoors like it is supposed to.

not exactly sweat resistant

Pros: sporty, light, comfortable, easy to use buttons, universal mini usb for charging, decent audio quality

Cons: will break if you get it wet! call quality isn't the best

Review: Make sure when you buy this product, that it comes with a store warranty. I used it for long distance running (over 10 miles) and I bought it knowing full well of the "sweat resistant" issue. I wore hats when running to try to keep the moisture off the volume controls, but as soon as you get the buttons wet, it will stop working. Now I have a headset stuck at the lowest volume, so its pretty much useless. I bought mine from ebay, so I can't really exchange it for a new one...
When it did work, however,it worked great. Don't buy it if you're expecting fantastic audio quality. Call quality isn't the best. Most people who talked to me while I was using the headset complained.

Bottom line, if you're using it for activities where you would be sweating, DON'T buy. But if you do buy it, make sure you purchase the store warranty!

Constant Interruptions-Can't Use While Moving

Pros: Very good sound quality

Cons: interruptions every time you move--you cannot use these headphones while walking (at any speed, indoors or out) or jogging

Review: You'll only be able to use these "active" headphones while sitting still or maybe on the treadmill. If the device moves at all, these headphones will lose the signal, causing an interruption that lasts from one to ten seconds, making it impossible to listen while walking. I tried putting the device in my backpocket and doing other things to better align the S9's Bluetooth receiver and the unit, without success. I had these headphones around my neck once when I entered a doctor's office, and a complete stranger stopped me to ask whether I was having the interruption problem with them and whether I'd found a solution. Read other user reviews of this product on other sites and you will find the exact same issue.

Also, the unit does not fold or twist, making it impossible to use while lying down or leaning your head back against a chair back or headrest. Battery life is OK but not great.

It really seems as though CNET's "excellent" reviewers did not use the headset in authentic situations before reviewing it.

Took some getting used to

Pros: Great sound, attractive low-profile design.

Cons: Challanging to use outdoors.

Review: I use these to listen to streaming audio on my 2-mile walk to work. As others have noticed, they are difficult to use outside. The phone and the receiver (on the back of your head) really need to be "line of sight." Once I realized that, I just put the phone in my backpack and it works perfectly. (If I am close enough to a building that the signals can bounce off of, I can hold the phone in front of me. Otherwise, it has to stay in the backpack.)

Pros: extremly great sound quality for bluetooth and paired painlessly with my LG phone

Cons: connection does get a little flaky outside if phone and headphones are not full charged.

Great Sounding!

Pros: Great Stereo Sound, Easy Controls

Cons: Not the best voice quality

Review: I was looking for a bluetooth stereo headset to compliment the music player on my phone. I already had a bluetooth for talking so I wanted one to enjoy music. I picked up the Motorola S9 online for $55.00. It's been one of the best purchases i've made in awhile. As a music headset it can't be beat. It's sound quality is excellent! The controls took a little getting used to, but once mastered they are really convienient. As a talking headset though, I've found it a bit below average. The voice quality is tinny and i've experienced alot of feedback. I wear glasses and i've had no trouble fitting and wearing them comfortably so that has'nt been an issue. If you can find these in the $50-$60 dollar range and you want a headset primarily for music listening, I recommend picking them up

Great quality, but very frustrating

Pros: everything in the sales pitch is absolutely true!!!

Cons: buttons stop working after a few months.

Review: I have bought two of these. Paid full price for the first one and was amazed in every way. But then the volume control button stopped working. Then the other buttons stopped working. I put them away for the winter, and began to really miss them, so I ordered a second through e-bay. I fell in love again. And within two months the second is acting just like the first, buttons aren't working and now neither turns on. I am grieving my lost love and am afraid to be disappointed a third time.

I can't recommend buying them unless you only need them for 2-3 months.

Better than expected

Pros: music sound quality, button placement/functionality, style, fit for my head, low profile

Cons: call sound quality, poor outdoor reception

Review: The primary reason I bought these is for stereo bluetooth music listening on my MotoRizr Z6tv phone. In this it does not disappoint. The low-profile design is stylish without being conspicuous. The buttons for track, play/pause, volume up/down and call answer are easy to use and intuitive (as long as you remember your left from your right). The S9 uses the same mini-USB plug to charge as your phone, which is convenient for travel. The water/sweat resistant design is a plus, and it seems like these will last forever. I will have to remind myself that these are high-tech, and shouldn't be thrown around, as they feel indestructible.
Using the music controls on my phone results in it having a hard time with backing up a song or 2 or 10, mostly because the slight delay between the signals coming out of the headphones seems to mean that the phone thinks you just want to go to the beginning of the current track, not back up several songs. The audio quality is good for music, though- The sound is definitely biased toward bass, which is fine with me, though highs tend to cut off.
The call function is a different story. For whatever reason, mono phone use is much worse than the stereo sound (same speakers, only just in one ear, right?). Listeners on the other end of calls tend to get an inordinate amount of background noise with the S9, as well, though I do walk city streets a lot.
On that note, the S9 seems to like a line-of-site with the phone. The transeiver seems to be positioned in the unit behind your head, and when my phone is on my chest (messenger bag with cell phone pocket in strap), the music cuts out periodically, as much as 3 times per minute with a 2 second gap- not very functional. When I slide the phone up onto my shoulder, though, the skips disappear. My head isn't that thick. Indoors (gym, on the treadmill, at home), this does not occur. In addition, the effect is lessened when I am walking in a less-congested area in town. Possible interference?
Overall, I highly recommend these- they are better than I thought they might be (planned to return them when they sucked, and they didn't). In addition, I recommend going to a Verizon store if you have an account, and buying with your next phone (they gave me 25% off the S9s, plus a lot of other discounts- all you have to do is ask.) All in all, well worth it for my usage, which is daily walking to and from work, at the gym and taking calls during those times.

Sensitive to moisture but nice sound

Pros: light weight, comfortable, great sound

Cons: Units fail frequently from sweat

Review: I have sent my S9 back twice and am awaiting my 3rd unit. They are advertised (and reviewed here) as great for active lifestyles - well I run and bike, and with small amounts of moisture from me, the units keys that adjust volume have failed back to back. I like the unit so much I have now purchased a 2nd one so I can have one when the other is being mailed back and forth to Motorola!

Motorola - please fix this defect in all of the units - their keys must be made more tolerant to moisture from the user. I have never used them in the rain - it's only from me working out.

Good for gym-goers with decent sound, but with some minor design flaw

Pros: Sounds good. Powerful bass. Control buttons are well-placed.

Cons: Would be better if the earbuds can go into ear

Review: Lately, I got my N95 8GB and I now go to gym quite often. The Motorola S9 is definitely a perfect match with my life style. I tried Sony Ericsson's DS-200 bluetooth headsets. It's good but it's not totally 'wireless'. I really don't like wires moving around my head while I'm running, cycling.

The Moto S9 sounds really good. The bass is more powerful than I expected. However, since the headset isn't adjustable, it took me some time to get the speakers pointing to the right way and the earbuds completely cover the ear. Maybe that's why Moto will have S9-HD in which they say the ear pieces are ported design which can channel sound to the ear canals.

All in all, I like this headset and I can bare with the minor design flaw because I really like go running with this.

But people with large head, I suggest trying the headsets and see if you feel comfortable before you buy.

If you wear glasses...

Pros: Fast charge, decent sound quality.

Cons: Doesn't fit well with glasses.

Review: If you wear glasses, you might want to go for the earbud designs. I wear glasses and owned these for just 24 hours because I couldn't wear my glasses and the headset at the same time. Additionally, this design will not allow you to lay your head back while listening. It will interfere with the support and pop out of your ears. Also, mine came with a 4-gig memory card and it didn't work. Not only did it get stuck in my phone and had to be removed with tools, it hung on a file view both on the phone and on the PC. It never would let me copy a file to it. Other than the above... decent product, but I still returned it.

great concept but poor execution

Pros: Good product idea

Cons: The bluetooth connect is very poor with the T-Mobile Curve

Review: I should start by saying I purchased the headphones to workout with. The style and the features were perfect for me. I was excited to use the headphones.

The problem is that the connection to the Curve is very bad. The signal breaks up every 10 to 15 seconds. I currently use traditional headphones with my phone when i workout, so the songs are not the problem.

I called Motorola and they suggested I exchanged the phone and try again. I did and had the same problem. I call back and they tell me there must be something wrong with the phone and I have to call Blackberry. I call Blackberry and we test everything, including reinstalling the operating system but I still had the same problem. I did test another single ear bluetooth device and everything worked.

Not sure what the issue is but it extremely frustrating when you buy a product, call for the support, and all you get is it must be the other device's faultand they cannot help me. Motorola should do a much better job with their support. I understand that they cannot know all of the details on how their products work with all the phones that are out there but from my estimations, the Curve could be one of the most popular phones out there..

Needless to say, I returned the phone after spending 6 plus hours (hold times are ridiculous) on the phone with support and trouble shooting. I hope nobody else has to go through what I went through.

Cons: fitting, not quite into the bright red

Don't take these to the gym

Pros: Suprisingly decent sound, decent bass

Cons: Odd fit, completely unsuitable for the gym

Review: I've been looking for a stereo bluetooth headset for the gym only, and based on Moto's description these seemed perfect. As I said above, the sound is surprisingly good for bluetooth - bass is rich and volume level is good. The fit is a little odd, but I've found this to be the case even with mono headsets - the earloops seemed to be designed for giant ears and offer little in the way of stability.

After about 20 minutes on the treadmill, the sweat started to make the headset slip out of my ears just enough so I couldn't hear the music - I found myself having to keep pushing them in every minute or so. The headset was an even bigger disaster for the rest of my workout - you cannot lay on your back on a bench and keep these in your ears. The headset's behind the head design make this impossible.

Bottom line: These seem to be a well built, very good quality headset that couldn't be more ill-suited for the gym.

I am very satisfied with the purchase for my needs!!

Pros: Great sound quality for stereo

Cons: Range...see review for comments on range.

Review: Why are you buying the unit? If you are active and will have your phone with you in close range while using it then I think it's a great purchase. If you wander aimlessly and dont take your phone with you don't expect to get very far. I went from one level of my house to up another in a 2200 sq ft house and started to hear alot of issues with the music not being able to catch up and alot of interuptions. I am not sure how great range is usually with bluetooth so if I am lucky I got that far then I guess I should have given it a better rating. Anyway it wears well and fits securely in my ears. I do agree with some other reviewers that it will do nothing for sweat and I am not really sure I would want it to and make it all smelly. So for me I got a great deal on a great product.

Great headphones for pretty much anything

Pros: Lightweight, good quality sound and build, long battery

Cons: Sucks outdoors, if you will use outdoors, don't bother

Review: I use these all day long at work, in my office, when I am in the field, and on my PS3 for gaming. They are awesome. Any USB can recharge them and I love them. The only drawback is that the outdoor coverage is spotty even when the source signal is within 5 feet. But I use these while sitting at a slot machine in a casino and have clear sounds and signals. So I don't get where the interference is but I end up putting my phone under my hat and I wear them outdoors. So unless you are willing to have a funny looking lump under your hat, dont try to wear them outdoors. Other than that, I don't go anywhere without them and my blackberry for the music.

best sports headphones on the market right now

Pros: stay on, syncs w/ all my stuff easily, 5 hour usage, control buttons

Cons: could be a bit smaller for women or people with smaller heads

Review: Sound is good, they hold their charge for 5 hours, the rapid charger is way nice (extra), and syncs easily with all my Blue Tooth peripherals (phone, MP3 player, laptop).

I can walk around and do stuff around my desk without getting the cord caught on anything. Range indoors is about 25 feet.

Like the fact that I can forward songs, adjust volume, and pick up a call with a touch of a button on my headset.

This version definitely has a couple of upgrades that the older model didn’t have, like the buttons are easier to press (more sensitive), it beeps when you press a button so you know the headset acknowledges the fact that you pressed a button, and when you charge it, there are 3 distinctive stages that the LED indicates you are in during the charging process.

In summer, supposedly this headset is coming out with Hi Def version, but with blue tooth, not sure if that would make much of a difference regarding sound quality. Plus I read a couple of reviews on the HI Def version in the international community and the rating was average.

Nice unit but not on the cheap side

Pros: Nice concept

Cons: It cuts out occassionally, Can't find new ear pieces

Review: I'm using it with the V-9 Razr, Works fine except the MP3 cuts out at times. Sound is good though. I'm an electrician and I need to be hands free while working. This allows me the freedom of movement and it stays in the ears. One touch and you get the call. Music resumes after call.

Not the best but decent for the price

Pros: Sleek, beautiful

Cons: Size, shape

Review: This bluetooth headphone is one of the more sleeker looking headphones I've seen. Sound quality is excellent and people will be impressed when they see you wearing it.

Connection was excellent for me both inside and out. My phone detected it fine and everything worked fine. My iPod also detected fine (with the bluetooth attachment).

The controls on the side of the head was also great. Everything I did worked. The little beeping sounds are also nice because it tells you what you did.

However, the overall feel of the headphones was extremely uncomfortable. They were fine if my neck was stiff, but I tend to move my neck around a lot (cracking, tilting head back during work to stretch, rest on side of head to sleep, etc.)

The earpieces itself are also get uncomfortable after a long period of use. Unless you can get them at a perfect angle that fits your ears (believe me, it's possible), you'll start to feel a little pain around your ears. I don't think it's that bad but if you continually feel it, I would suggest seeing the doctor.

Overall, I think these headphones are great. I certainly wouldn't be getting another headphones to replace these ones anytime soon. The only thing I wish motorola did with these headphones was the the ability to change the length of the earphones. The only reason it got a low score from me is it's feel.

If you can brush away comfort and your all into looks, then these earphones are perfect. If you have a small head or a long neck, then prepare for mini-hell everytime you wear these.

Not for outdoorsmen/women

Pros: Gread handsfree device for indoors

Cons: Not for outdoors or mobile activities

Review: I bought this device primarily to listen to music while I work out. Unfortunately, the metal earpiece which is covered by the rubber bud, cut off once sweat got on it. Eventually, it stopped working. Even before that, while working out, the heavy part of the headset in the rear kept sliding so far down the back of my neck, I had to constantly adjust it. When walking outdoors, the swing of my arm interrupted the connection between the headset and the phone on my hip which was really frustrating. For the price, it's not worth purchasing if you can only use it while doing minimal to no moving around.

DO NOT BUY if you workout

Pros: good sound quality

Cons: DIES within a week at the gym. DON'T GET WET!

Review: Motorola is a good company with a temendous amount of experience in getting things right. However, the Motorola S9 is very easily broken. If a person works out at the gym, sweat will eventually kill these bad boys because the power charger interface leaves the whole underside of the headphones bare to sweat and the elements. Sure, it has a flap that is suppose to protect your investment, but I have had 3 of these sent to me for a return after my first set and all died with the same chronic problem... They just can't handle the sweat generated while working out... THE ONLY WAY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THESE IS IF YOU STAY INDOORS WITHOUT SWEATING!!! :) I hope this helps..

Great, not for active people

Pros: Lightweight, controls on earpiece, good sound

Cons: NOT sweat resistant, uncomfortable unless perfectly adjusted

Review: I bought these for working out, and like most people on reviewing this product, they died. It took mine 2 months, but nonetheless, they shorted and no longer work. When I called Motorola customer service, he was well aware of the problem and gave me no grief when I was looking for a replacement. It makes me wonder why Motorola markets the S9 to those with an active lifestyle but doesn't make a headset that can stand up to an active lifestyle.

As the CNET review points out, if the headset is not perfectly set, they pinch and can hurt a great deal. However, if they are set perfectly, they are the most comfortable headset you could imagine.

If you are looking for an indoor headset, these are ideal. When cleaning around the house, I can set my phone down, walk away, and still get great reception for a considerable distance. Reception outside, however, is iffy at best.

In summary, I'm basically echoing everything everyone else is saying about this headset. It is a great pair of headphones with great sound, but is not for active people or outside use.

Not for those who are active

Pros: Fit, style, lack of wires

Cons: Not entirely moisture proof

Review: I received these headphones as a gift for my birthday less than two months ago with the specific purpose of using for working out. Wires can be annoying on a treadmill. After use maybe 15 times, the volume controls short circuited and no longer work. I am sending these in for replacements, but after doing some research this seems to be a common problem. If you plan on using these for any type of activity where sweat may occur, be warned.

Thanks for this one I love it to an extent, it is one of the best headsets I’ve used

Pros: Out of the box it set up with no problem to my phone

Cons: doesn’t like to move with your head

Review: Thanks for this one I love it to an extent, it is one of the best headsets I’ve used.
Performers I give it an 8
Out of the box it set up with no problem to my phone I have two of them and the second one that I don’t use as often, but when I tried to switch the headset to the other one I found that it is not an easy switch over, and due to the time needed I didn’t try my computer. The power on/off is the other thing I’m not too happy with you should not have to press down on the power on for 2-3 sec to make it come on, off maybe.
Comfort I give it a 5
For the most part it is ok walking, some running, but looking up or around, it doesn’t like to move with your head and tends to pull on your ears when looking up. Hats can be a problem too in cold weather.
Usage 7
Limited to one device in a world that tends to use two (phone and computer) to three (business phone). The volume buttons must be balanced with the device. The volume will not go all the way down if your player’s volume is all the way up. Note that the buttons are perfect easy to use and just a gentle touch to work.
My recommendations for the next one would be 1 flexible joint’s for a better fit and movement of the head. 2. A listen button to hear what is going on around you (people / train / planes / general announcements) Note I like my music but I don’t like being antisocial. 3. Ability to setup up to three devices and switch between them as you need them/use them. 4 Minor things gel ear buds, volume control, better “on” time.

Here's a more accurate review

Pros: Cool looking, Low front facing profile, touch controls are really intuitive

Cons: Music cuts out outdoors, Bulky in the back

Review: I am a gadget freak, so these were at the top of my list as soon as they came out.

Before I start I will state how I am using them: I have paired mine with my Motorola Razr V3, and my iPod Touch (which has the Motorola iPod Bluetooth Connector attached to it)

While I agree with some of the article. I disagree with how glowing a review the article seems to give. (Makes me think somebody got a free pair of headphones out of it).

Don't get my wrong, these headphones are cool. They are sleek looking.

Before I praise them, let me bash them for their major flaws:

1) The bulk in the back: since these are a behind-the-head model, you get a nice low profile if somebody is looking at you from the face or side. But lurking right behind your head is the battery, and presumably the electronics that run the thing. To give you an example of how big the back part is: The length of the bulk is roughly 3" around the back of your head, which doesn't really matter. It's behind your head. The height of the bulky bit is almost 1 inch. So it's bandaid shaped. The problem is, it is also 1/2 and inch thick, and sticks out another 1/2 inch from the back of your neck.

So what? What this means is that if you are a traveller - these headphones ARE NOT FOR YOU. You cannot rest your head against a plane, train, bus, or car-with-headrest seat without it being uncomfortable and pushing the headphones off your head.

This is the one major flaw with this design. OK ... so now you may be thinking - I just want them for working out, and walking around the house.

No problem, as long as you don't run into the second (documented by Motorola) flaw with these headphones.

They DO NOT WORK OUTDOORS. If you are walking, these headphones cut out constantly. Motorola knows this, and even documents the fact that if you are outdoors they "may" cut out on you - well they will...constantly. Especially if you live in a city I suspect. I noticed my blackberry when it goes off cuts out the music as well.

Motorola recommends you keep the unit in a top shirt pocket while outdoors. While this does minimize the cut outs, it does not eliminate them.

So. No jogging, biking, etc. with these puppies on your head, or you will be listening to 45% silence 55% music the whole way.

If you are sitting at your desk with the ipod or whatever sitting stable, then you're fine. No cut outs at all. And walking around a room is ok if you don't go too far away from the transmission source.

You must keep these in mind if you want to use these headphones and be 100% happy with them.

Me? I'm about 80% happy, but ranked them a 6 out of 10 for grossly missing their mark.
GREAT idea, sucky implementation.

And having said all that, I still love them. It's nice to just reach up and tap the side of them to get to the next song or adjust the volume. I can even sometimes do it through my gloves in the winter.

Sound quality is good. The phone microphone isn't very good though. People will have a hard time hearing you if there is ANY kind of background noise. It's not terrible though...kind of like being on a junky speaker phone.

If you have an iPod Touch, you will notice that the iPod connector doesn't really go with the actual iPod. It's white, it's a weird shape: 1.5" x 1" but just as thick as the Touch. This means it kind of hangs to one side. There is nothing holding the connector TO the iPod other than the actual interface port. Which means I am worried it may end up getting lose, or worse, I'm worried about snapping it off of the iPod. There is no way you can put this in a jeans pocket with the connector on it without being fearful of it snapping in two.

So Motorola has a good idea...and they are almost comfortable, and they almost work. But are they worth it?

For the cool factor? Yes. Everyone in the office was saying: "Oh my god are those bluetooth/wireless?" And seemed genuinely impressed with how they looked.

For the comfort and functionality... Motorola should be slapped in the face.
Updated
In addition to my other post where I give a more accurate review of the design flaws, I just wanted to add this. It's in response to some of the morons that expected these headphones to support "stereo" phone calls.

These are stereo headphones. They work on the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile).

THE DEVICE YOU PAIR WITH must support this to get stereo music. HOWEVER - Your phone calls will still be mono. um. Duh???

That's not the headphone's problem. That's the phone. It isn't transmitting the phone call using A2DP protocols.

I don't know of ANY phone that does transmit "stereo" phone calls. Besides I don't want to hear somebody inside my head. That's just creapy. :o)

So read the damn specifications before whining about your phone calls being mono.

Read my other review to find out the real flaws with these headphones.

Nice design but definitely not for "active" use.

Pros: Nice design.

Cons: Extremely sensitive to moisture. Mine broke after 4 workout sessions.

Awesome! Good sound, great features, great design

Pros: Sound Quality, Controls

Cons: Can be uncomfortable if earbuds are not set up correctly, USB charging socket flap doesnt close well

Review: I have been looking for a set of headphones to go with my Treo 650 for quite some time. I have a Jabra JX10 and a Motorola HS350 but I needed stereo. The Treo 650 does not support stereo out of the box so I had to get a program for it called Softik Audio Gateway.

The headphones sound great. They are not the best headphones I have ever used as fas as sound, but they are in the top 5. I have a pair of wired sound isolating headphones that came with a portable XM Satellite player, and they are the best sounding headphones I have ever heard. The Motorola S9 sounds almost as good, but lacks the full frequency abilities of the XM headphones. The XM headphones put you into the music, and you cannot hear much of anything when you have them on, even if they are not on. In contrast, the S9 still allows you to hear much better to what is happening around you at lower volumes.

The cool thing about the S9 is that it pairs with multiple bluetooth devices, and it remembers which device it was paired to last. So if I turn on the headphones and both my laptop (Toshiba X205-9359) and my Treo are on, it will choose whichever one it was used with most recently. One feature that is incredible is that if a phone call comes in while you are listening to music, it will pause your music and allow you to answer your phone call. If you reject the phone call or when you are done with the phone conversation, the music will resume playback. It will do this whether they are being used to listen to the music on the laptop or on the phone itself, so it actually pairs to multiple devices simultaneously.

As a handsfree kit, the sound only comes in through the left ear, possibly because the microphone is in the right ear. I was talking to somebody just last night on my phone handset, and when I switched to the S9, I was told that I actually sounded louder and more clear. This is great because I have had people say I dont sound very clear with other headsets I have used. Also, to put into perspective the sound quality of the microphone, the Treo 650 has a reputation for excellent clarity on the handset.

I love taking my S9 to the gym. All those other people with their trendy iPod Nanos have nothing on me. They have their iPods on their arm or belt, with their wires dangling around just waiting to get snagged. I put my Treo in the cupholder on the treadmill or bike and I just do my running or cycling with my S9 on. It is great. When I go to the machines, I can leave my Treo in my pocket or I can put it on top of the machine while I use it.

The range is pretty good. When I am at work I have my music playing and I leave my phone on the charger while I walk around with my S9 on. It lasts for about 7 hours on a charge and since it is a USB connection, it charges from my laptop of from any charger that a Motorola RAZR or Blackberry charges from.

When the headset is charging, the light is red. When it reaches 20 percent charge, the light turns yellow to let you know you have about an hours worth of a charge to use it. When it is fully charged, the indicator light is green. When it is in use, the indicator light flashes blue.

I got mine at Fry's for $99.00. There is a version that works with the trendy iPod that costs $130.00 The iPod model adds a control unit to the bottom of the iPod.

For both the Treo and my Toshiba, the S9 controls for volume and playback worked flawlessly. The phone controls are on the left, with a soft pushbutton to answer, redial, and end phone calls, and a touch button above and below to control volume for both phone calls and music. On the right side is another set of buttons that work identical to the ones on the left, except the middle one does play and pause while the touch buttons above and below do previous and next track.

I have tried different programs on the Treo for music playback (Real Player, MOcean, TCPMP and PocketTunes) and the S9 control buttons worked with all these programs. I like PocketTunes the best because of its ability to play in the background.

Drawbacks? I used the original earbuds that came with the S9 and they started hurting my ears. But I listened to it all day at work for a whole week. Then I changed the earbuds to the round ones that come with it and they are very comfortable now. Of note, CNet says the headphones come with 3 different sizes of earbuds, but this was not true with mine. The are 2 sets of earbuds just like the ones in the pictures, and then one set of the earbuds that I changed it to that are more comfortable for my ears. The only other problem is the flap that covers the charger. It never looks like it fully closes flush, and it takes a little fiddling to get it closed.

Other than that, it is the best hundred dollars I have ever spent! I highly recommend these headphones.

Nice looking design, functional, and decent sound if it works with your phone.

Pros: Great controls. Lightweight. Battery life.

Cons: Comfort. Sound.

Review: The S9 paired fairly easily (only 2 tries) with my phone, a PPC6700. I used them while at work for approximately 6 hours. They were comfortable for the first hour or two. By the end of the day I couldn't wear them. The sound was good while it would play but I would have like some more volume. Every 30 minutes or so the sound would cut in and out for about 10 seconds then it would play fine. This could have just been my phone but I tried the Logitech Freepulse headphones and didn't have a problem with those. I think the Logitech get a little louder and for the 2-3 hour session are more comfortable as well.

Sounds Great When Its Working

Pros: Sounded great indoors

Cons: Poor Performance Outdoors

Review: When I bought this headphone and paired it to VX9900 (enV) it worked great in the house. I then wanted to try it outside while while walking my dog. I was so dissapointed at how choppy the MP3s sounded. I tried moving the phone closer to it, and had some success, but its suppose to work up to 15 ft away from the phone. I ended up taping the phone to my arm like a walkman, and it kinda worked but then every noe and then the headset would disconnect and reconnect to the phone. I ended up returning it the Verizon Store. Not worth the money unless you are planning to use it indoors only.

good idea. needs work

Pros: realitvely good fit. good sound quality

Cons: no noise cancelling. microphone picks up a lot of noise too.

Review: in the early days of bluetooth i was dreaming of a stereo headset that looked just like this. However, this product doesn't deliver. it's not even that compact, probably should've been foldable. the bluetooth connection is not truly stable. the controls are hard to work accurately, they're iether too sensitive either non-responsive. regular buttons should have been used, i guess, instead of the "touch-sensitive" (which i think are stupid for buttons that you cannot see at any time). Motorola didn't include any software or instructions on how to set up and use with a PC. battery acts weird, sometimes it lasts the full rated 6 hours, sometimes dies after 2. if you look the S9 on forums, there are hundreds of reports of people that returned 2-3 pairs that kept breaking (mine not yet).

Pros: at least I can still hear from the speakers

Cons: Buttons stop working after your 2nd WorkOut

The buttons stop working on the side of the headset after your 1st or 2nd Work out.

eBay buyer beware I own both OEM and fake

Pros: Good sound,

Cons: Pinch a little if set it wrong

Review: First of all I whant to say the OEM S9 is very good I have a OEM and a fake one wich both are exactly the same for except of the control buttons wich on the fake one you have to press hard. the boxes are the same they open the same way, the fake one didn't came with the pouch. I'm telling this because they're the same on the outside so far, sound is also the same and battery life the same, but when connecting to my HELIO OCEAN phone the fake one lost connection quickly the OEM motorola holds conecction at longer distance. you will be surprise on how identical the OEM and fake one are. So before you review this S9 make sure yours came with a hologram label wrap on one of the headphone sides itself. Just in case I don't work for motorola or anything like that, I buy a lot of things reading the reviews of other people and there a lot of S9's out there fakes on ebay and on big online retailers, even motorola doesn't have the updated images of the counterfeit S9's. if you buy the OEM you will love it. If yours didn't came with the pouch and buttons aare hard to press, also if is missing the hologram sticker, you have the fake one. They work good but they're fake

Just average

Pros: style, microphone quality

Cons: not very comfort

Review: I liked the design, very sporty. Though I did not use it very much at work since it kinda made me look like I was a little too comfortable. I ended up selling it online and getting a different device from www.bluecrests.com. This bluetooth C3 was much more flexible as it allowed me to swap ear pieces and I used my bose earbuds while still enjoying stereo sound from my P990 phone on it's cradle on my desk across the office.

So Close... But no cigar yet

Pros: Great sound and easy to pair with other devices

Cons: Sound keeps breaking up outside...

Review: I bought this unit with high expectations and when I first put it on it wasn't very comfortable (others have said that as well). I changed the ear piece to the cone and that fit MUCH better and did a great job of isolating the sound and enhancing the lows. It sounds GREAT! It linked up to my phone quickly and I was very happy with the purchase.

Then I went outside... So what exactly is the point of having a sports headset that doesn't work outside. I'm an electronics guy and I simply can't believe this thing starts breaking up in the outdoors where there should be a lot less interference. I went to take the dogs for a walk and the cutting in and out was BRUTAL. Motorola says to hold the transmitter closer. I had it in my chest pocket (less than 20 inches from the device). It should be good for 30 feet so I hardly think that is the problem. I then thought maybe the connection between the phone and the Ipod to the headset was causing confusion. Turned the phone off and no help. I was really disappointed as I so wanted this to work and it was so so so close!! Also, everything was just charged so power is not the problem. The other issue with this design is wearing this with a jacket that has a collar. The collar and the neck piece were in constant conflict.

I returned them today and I'm going to try the Jaybird headphones. Hopefully that will be met with more luck.
Cheers!

Great Single Workout

Pros: Great Sound Quality, Good Fit, Easy to Use

Cons: Only One - the controls short out with sweat

Review: Although I have used my Ipod and the included headphones for years during workouts, I decided to "upgrade" to bluetooth capability and use my Motorola Q to control my music. Being an avid buyer of Motorola products for many years, I decided on the S9 - especially after the review by CNET.

After buying the headphones and easily connecting them to my Q, I loaded the Q up with Harry Potter (yes, I know, wierd choice) and ran off to the gym. The workout consisted of a 4 mile run (jog for most). I will be honest, I do sweat. However, these headphones are specifically for "active" people and are touted as sweat resistant. After I got the volume right and queued up Harry and his adventures, everything went great for the entire workout (except my Q rebooted once, side issue).

The next day, I decided that I might try them out at work while I was setting up some equipment in the warehouse. Funny thing is that the volume up, next, and play/pause buttons no longer worked.

After talking with customer service who are undoubtably not located in the US, they agreed to give me an RA number to return the headphones - once received on their side they promised to get me out a new pair. I decided before doing so I would check the web for others with the same problem. My heart sunk when I read the numerous USER reviews that indicate the same thing.

So, instead of sending them to Motorola, I will be returning for a refund. Man, I wish they didn't have this problem because they have incredible sound quality and a good fit.

Guess that I will have to go back to the IPOD and IPOD earbuds. Oh well...

Looks great and felt great while wearing. The volume quality was JUST average.

Pros: Good looking, pairs easily, comfortable on my head.

Cons: Poor volume, has static often while working out at the gym.

Review: I bought the S9 upon CNET's recommendations. It paired easily with my Motorola RAZR V3xx but there was a lot of cutout in the transmission from the RAZR to the S9 plus volume was OK in a quite setting but using it in the gym was a joke. I could barely hear the music over the "standard" noise of a typical gym. Then I paired it with my NEW Blackberry CURVE 8300. The S9 paired just as easily with the CURVE and the cutout in transmission was gone. Also the volume was better but still was totally inadequate at the gym.
I'm totally dissapointed with the S9 simply because the reason I bought it WAS for use during my workouts which is what Motorola advertises in a big way. Well, that notion bombed big time. In my opinion, the S9 is not worth the consideration as a stereo boothtooth headset for working out at a gym or any other place that isn't a VERY quite environment.

Practical headset

Pros: Only one headset needed

Cons: Rear neckband does not sit flush with neck

Review: Now this is a practical two in one unit. I have owned this for three months and use it daily. As a frequent traveller and gym goer, I can now carry just one unit - no more corded headset for music, no more bluetooth headset for phone calls. It truly is sweat resistant, too. I run and sweat tons, and this unit does not experience any of the shorting of other units, does not become damp because it does not have foam earpads, and there is no weight to them which means when you turn your head, there is no momentum.

The audio quality for music is good. As for phone, I would rate quality about an 7.5 out of ten.

It was dead easy to set up out of the box, just like any other Motorola bluetooth unit or other bluetooth units for that matter.

There is one problem I find when benchpressing/lying down (for those who do not benchpress) and that is the rear headband interferes with lying down. All you do is adjust the angle so that it is flush with your neck, but that is about it.

Battery life is what amazes me. I think I am getting about 5 hours of use, and charging it about once per week.

I am a discerning gadget man. Given all the features of this piece - it's lightweight, superior workout performance, all in one unit, ease of use out of the box, battery life, I will not need to purchase another headset be it for music or phone calls until the next version of this comes out!

Very good product

Pros: wirelss connectivity

Cons: bluetooth for phone lacks quality sound

Review: I just purchase the unit for use with my new Apple ipod Touch (16gig). I also purchased a Motorola and Sony stereo ipod bluetooth converter. I purchase both the find out which was better.., it was the Sony by a good distance. The headphones work perfectly with the my Ipod and I could not imagine going back to a wired headset. I had no illusions that the S9 would be anything other than just barely acceptable for phone calls and I was correct.
My intent (I also own the Bang and Olufsen Ear2 bluetooth, best bluetooth on the planet for phone calls bar none) was to use the S9 for music only and take advantage of its' ability to interrupt a call and let me know I have a call coming through. I usually answer the call with the S9 and if it is a short call I will take the conversation with the S9, if its going to be longer, I will ask my caller to hold a minute while I switch to the handset (Motorola RzrV3) via a couple of quick keystrokes on my phone and then just pop the S9 off. This works well for me as I usually use the S9 at the office (software developer) or while working out.
In the car I use the Ear 2.
I think it is worth the money, though I am still guaging the actual battery life of the unit.
How Apple could create something as Edge of Art as the ipod Touch and then leave it to the user to have to purchase an external bluetooth adapter I may never understand.

Great headset

Pros: Small, sound, no wires

Cons: A little heavy, buttons difficult to navigate at first

Review: Plain and simple this is the best headset on the market right now. Took a little getting use to at first but no wires and great sound what can I say. You get alot of looks in the gym with this thing too. "Where the heck are the wires on that thing? I have to go out and get one of those." I'm still learning how to navigate with the buttons but I will get used to it. The calls come in clear and music great quality as well while working out in my loud gym. Had no complaints of caller not hearing me or me hearing the caller. I would highly recommend to anyone tired of dealing with wires and wanting hands free headset for working out in the gym or running.

Poor sound quality & ergonomics; 820 much much better

Pros: Size and weight

Cons: Frequency response; control "feel"

Review: I have had an HC820 since its introduction and the S9 is not even close in sound quality. Moreover, I find the operation of the controls on the S9 extremely difficult. I find the "squeeze/push" action hard to get used to.

I have had problems getting it to work with my Palm 650 and computer.

Pros: I like the idea and design.

Cons: It simply does not seem to work as other bluetooth items have.

Review: If I could get this to work I would love it, but it does not work with my current Palm 650 and/or my computer. I had checked with verizon, the airport computer store and Sam's. They all said the S9 would work with my 650. It does not.

Not worth 100$

Pros: small, sleek design is attractive

Cons: background noice, poor sound quality

Review: I have a Plantronics 590 and wanted a smaller set that was less obtrusive.

The S9 design is good but unfortunately there is a constant humming noise even with no sound playing, and you have to turn up the volume higher than I like for the song to overpower it.

Sound quality much better on 590 than S9

Call quality is okay on the S9 if you are in a dead quiet room. They pic up more background noice on calls than the 590. So strike two for S9.

Strike three is the price. Not enough value for for the cost.

Don't buy.

It's great, when it worked

Pros: It allows you to get all of your blue tooth gear hooked into one unit with great features

Cons: They stop working for no reason

Review: I bought my S9 at Staples. For a month, it was the greatest purchase ever. The battery life was fantastic. I was able to switch between my audio on my PDA and my cell phone seamlessly. I even got a blue tooth for my computer so I could transfer sound between all three.

It was a fantastic purchase.

Then after a month. It just stopped working for audio and only for the cell phone. Then it just stopped working.

The headset cost too much to replace every month, and the more I read about everyone else's similar problems, I am disinclined to purchasing from motorola again.

Freedom at last! Look no further for your wireless headphone solution.

Pros: Excellent form and functionality

Cons: Default earbuds terrible.

Review: Tired of being tied to computer for music and computer VoIP calls, I went searching for what proved to be a very small (and expensive) market for wireless headsets.

After ruling out the super-expensive and/or bulky ones, I moved down-market to ones under $100 where I "lucked out" on a sale of this product.

I was pleasantly surprised. Here's what I found:

Excellent sound quality: When playing music, I found the stereo sound from both my computer and smartphone were superlative.

Being picky about my music quality, I have about 6 (wireline) headphones sitting around collecting dust that did not make the grade. Once I changed the default packaged, painfull and uncomforatble earbuds to another set (included) I was thouroughly amazed at the sound qaulity. So much so that I'm going to try it in my gym as a great alternative to messing with wires while on the machines.

A perfect blend of high and midrange with rich, fat bass that felt like two speakers thumping in your ear. All with no discernable distortion...and no outside static. Truth is, I've not found one wireline in or over-ear overheadphone that came close.

As for phone capability. I must admit that I'm not crazy about hearing out of one ear when two earbuds are availalbe....however it was better than my H500 for clearity and background noise. Considering that you get both phone and stereo capability it is still very much worth it. (took half-point off for the one ear thing)

As for functionality: You can find just about any of the device controls you'd need (answer, mute, volume, song selection etc.) can be found right on the headset, with a very small leraning curve to get used to them.

The controls are light-touch but not too light that they would be mistakenly activated. The response time is comparable to selecting the command right on the device (phone or computer) themselves with an appropriate indicator beep(s) to confirm command.

You'd think with all of this, you'd end up with a bulky and heavy headset that can only be used while sitting down...certainly not while jogging or such, WRONG. This is as light as any wired in-ear headphone that I've ever used...frankly I don't know how they pack all the functionality, good battery life and sound in such a small light-weight package.

Think this is pretty much as good as it gets as far as this type of product goes.

The only reason I gave it a nine was the one ear phone deal and the default earbuds.

They were so hard and uncomforatble that I could not fit them properly in my ears whihc took away most of the sound quality and made it necessary to take them off in under ten minutes.

Discovering the soft-rounded ones that were inlcuded in the package proved a world of difference.

My two cents....the packagers may want to consider using these as the default packaged in view of how many people may have returned the unit without giving it a fair shot.

Otherwise, if you're on the fence about them, time to jump off....I have no regrets about doing so...and..they seem to be on-sale all over the place these days.

Slightest Bit of Sweat Shorts Out Unit

Pros: Good fit and sound

Cons: Multiple pair have died from sweat exposure, long turnaround time for warranty replacement

Review: For around the house stuff or activities that don't make you sweat these are great. But the design and whole idea behind these was they were good for sports and unreliability kills them for me.

I wear them running and have broken two pair, about 25 minutes into my run. The left earphone stopped working on the first set and the volume and control buttons started acting on the own the second time, beeping, lowering the volume, and basically malfunctioning.

There are a lot of people with the same complaint (see: http://andnowyouknow.net/accessories/58-20070620/). although Motorola has been good about replacing the first two pair, I've had to pay return postage and have been without them for 3 weeks each time.

Great while they last

Pros: Good battery and fair sound quality

Cons: They keep breaking!!

Review: I'm on my 2nd pair. On the first pair my volume up and song forward touch controls stopped working. By the evening, none of the controls worked. This happened when they were 3 weeks old. I returned them and got a replacement. After a week with my 2nd pair the volume up control stopped working. I think I'm done with the S9. Hopefully I can find an alternative...

On a side note, the volume of the second pair got much louder than on my first pair.... odd. I guess thats the story with these headsets. Very very poor quality and quality control.

This Headset Is Da Complete Bomb!

Pros: Stylish, Unique. Very, very decent stereo separation. Some of you Mega Bass fans may be somewhat disappointed, even though the bass response is well more than adequate for freedom from wires!

Cons: Getting nearly 3.5 hrs. of playing time from my headset. Get into the habit of capping it off w/ the recharger every night. Wish headset could have longer batt life for longer train trips.

Review: 1. Have seen friends buy this retail. Why? I got mine brand new from eBay for UNDER $50!!! And it's HUGELY well worth it. Lots of stares and questions from all realm of passers-by about what it is and where to get it. Wish it came in blue or sun yellow!

2. Absolutely make sure that your audio device is Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) capable in order for it to be compatible w/ this headset. When I first shopped for this headset, I knew NOTHING about Bluetooth compatibility profiles. Verizon.com/bluetooth changed that and taught me a LOT...WAY MORE than any of the salespersons in all the usual electronic stores (no names, please).

3. Spend LOTS of time reading the brochure that comes in the box and even MORE time in your easy chair fitting yourself w/ this headset BEFOREHAND so that you can enjoy yourself on the bus, train, etc. and not have to mess w/ it once you've adjusted / bent the flexible parts to custom fit perfectly. Go ahead; it's amazingly durable.

4. I'm waiting for LG Chocolates (I have the snazzy Blue Mint) to eventually upgrade to include the Audio Visual Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) so that the remote features in the headset will work w/ my phone. Currently, LG Chocolates do not have AVRCP, but I learned this well before I bought the phone and the headset. Fortunately, the LG Chocolate Blue Mint is a very cool phone to handle, esp. w/ the navigation wheel, soft touch buttons and large viewing screeen, so I don't mind controlling my audio from the phone itself.

5. If there is ANYTHING "con" I have to say about the Motorola S9 is that it's signal reception power could be improved. I'd LOVE it if I could have my phone in my horizontal leather belt holster rather than in a sports armband when using the stereo audio. As much as I LOVE the way the sports armband makes my gym-body biceps look even larger and more defined, sometimes the sports armband just does not go w/ the attire. Additionally, while in flight on an aircraft, Bluetooth usage is not allowed at the time of this writing. All considered, however, even the fashion police would consider getting one of these, even if they had to use an armband w/ their iPod, Nano, or multi-function Bluetooth wireless unit.
Updated
Have spent weeks and weeks searching. Finally found this solution. I hope it helps all those of you who are frustrated at finding replacement earbud pads for your Motorola S9 Motorokr after the original ones got damaged or, more likely, fell off and got lost!

If you lose the original earphone caps on this unit (caution: they really DO come off too easily when putting the phones on or taking them off), see www.sumajin.com, a website based in Singapore. They have their brand of replacement foam earbud pads IN GREAT COLORS, called Funky Pads, which were originally designed for MP3 and iPods. They will take a while to ship from Asia; however, well worth the wait! They look great, feel great and fit the S9 ear speaker units completely and wonderfully. The Sumajin replacement foam ear pads are very thick and have smaller fitting holes so that the pad will enclose the S9 ear speaker unit. The edge of the pad holes even slip into the tiny slot circling the base of each ear speaker unit for a more secure fit and to keep dirt and dust from getting to the more sensitive parts of the stereophones.

"Sweat resistent"... they are NOT!

Pros: Elegant design, easy to use, comfortable

Cons: Three units have failure due to sweat

Review: Motorola markets the S9 headset towards an "active" lifestyle. The product documentation claims that they are both moisture and sweat resistent. I am in the process of returning my THIRD headset in two weeks due to failing touch-sensitive buttons. I use these while exercising (weight training, NOT cardio). All three headsets have failed during my workouts, most likely due to sweat shorting out the touch sensitive buttons. Unfortunatly this isn't an isolated issue. I have read many other reviews on other websites from users who have had the same problems.

It is unfortunate because the S9's are very comfortable while working out. The headphones stay in place, and the unit itself is very discreet.

MOTOROLA... Please fix this defect in your design!

I gad them for over a month and decided to return them

Pros: lighweight, easy pairing,

Cons: impossible to use them outdoor,

Review: I paired theses headphones with the Motorla Ve Maxx. I was amazed with the clarity when using them indoors. However, I like biking and the problem came when using them outdoors. The sound was choppy, and it was impossible to listen to any music! I kept the phone on my upper arm, very close to the headphones, but it didnt help. So, I figured out ... what is the point of keeping them since I cannot use them?

I'd rate it higher if it wasn't so easy completely disable its functionality

Pros: Size and weight are great

Cons: Fragile ear buds that have no support replacement. Sound quality can suffer if it doesn't fit correctly. Backheavy if head not large enough

Review: Comes with three sets of different sized ear buds, and if one fits it shouldn't sound too bad. If it doesn't fit snugly sound quality drops drastically. If you can find the right fit, sound is not bad for the benefit of the wireless convenience. On people with smaller heads, it can be a bit backheavy, but this shouldn't be too bad if you are used to the over the ear type design. Overall construction isn't too bad, but the ear buds are really fragile and the larger ones can actually rip. The bad part ( and hence the low rating despite my like of the overall product ) is that the general drift on the net ( and so far as I can tell by the circular nature of the support calls ) is that you cannot buy or get new ear buds. This is a rather silly point to be having to make about the rather inexpensive portion of a product. If they are that concerned about the cost, at least sell them. Without the ear buds, the product is uncomfortable and basically unusable. I'm not going to buy a new one just to get new ear buds. Anyone know of any off brand replacements that fit?

This technology hasn't yet been perfected

Pros: Inside: Awesome call and music quality- can walk far away from device (three rooms away). Surprised that others said I sounded clear on the phone (despite location of mic).

Cons: Outside: Music "breaks up" during jogging. This seems to have nothing to do with movement, but just with environmental issues. Bulge in back of unit rubs up against hoodie or collar of jacket.

Review: If you're using this item for indoor use, whether it be for music or phonecalls, then purchase it immediately. If you're planning to spend a lot of time outdoors with it, you might want to think again. Music seems to break up just enough to the point that it's annoying, and not enough that you'd be able to justify a product return at the store. I'm not sure if I'd buy this product again knowing what I know now. Though, I do like this thing.

AWFUL -- is it just me??

Pros: I actually LOVE them -- Great styling, comfortable, "easy to use" interface

Cons: I've gone through 2 pairs, and they both stopped working after 2-3 weeks!!

Review: I actually love these headphones, but the reliability on them for me has been truly a nightmare. I bought the first pair when I got my new Treo..... they worked great!!! I was hooked!!! Then, suddenly, the control buttons decided to stop working..... the tracks would advance or go back by themselves.... somehow they must have gotten possessed. So I went back to the store, exchanged them for another pair, and 3 weeks later, the same thing is happening! Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Anyway, if you want a neat pair of headphones, get the S9s. I think the sound is great for music, calls are clear, they're comfortable to wear during phone calls if you're driving or if you're at the gym. But if you want something that lasts for more than a month, you're S-O-L.

Pros: Good form factor; good sound quality; great functionality when working

Cons: Buttons stop working during workouts; mic picks up lots of background sound

Great A2DP System

Pros: Great For Stereo Music, Good Bass

Cons: Pressure on the ears, calls only on the left side

Review: I have been wearing this set for 2 weeks now, they are hard on my ears and I have try to all the ear set to accommodate them I put them on top of my hat and over my sunglasses arms and it works good, I love the headphones the sound is great with deep bass. I wish the calls can be set to stereo or if you could have the choice of mono or stereo. I have pair them with my Blackberry curve (work), Laptop, PS3 and Ipod (with Jabra adapter), work with all of them, but I have a Blackberry Pearl (personal) and it do not work because the Pearl its not A2DP, check the list of phones with A2DP.

My set is the red one, also you can find it all black. On the left side you will find: less volume, call or answer call and More volume. On the right side is before song, play/pause and next song. All the controls (if you can call them that) they are more like touch controls and work great once you get to find them with practice. You can still hear the ring tone on the phone, but the head set rings also making it easy to know there is a call to be answer. Calls are ok, there are time when the caller can not hear me and I have to talk loud but over roll they are good, when you play music and you have a call music pause and you can hear the ring tone, after the call the music resumes.

Pairing the headset was a flash, it has a bottom on the back for power and a cover for the mini USB charger (do not work while charging), it can be wore while you work out but if you jump my be uncomfortable after a while, they are light.

PS: I ride a motorcycle and the hear peace will not feet under the helmet.

Motorola says it is not aware of any issues with the S-9

Pros: Nice Compact Stereo Bluetooth device

Cons: Reported issues with water/sweat on unit

Review: I almost bought this unit but did my homework and even contacted Moto and they are denying issues with the S9. I asked when their next update was coming out, but they are still marketing the S9. Hopefully the reviews have been honest, if so, guess Moto is standing tall until the updated S9 comes out and then may fesses up. Guess that is the marketing game.

Major flaw

Pros: Good sound, good idea

Cons: Not what advertised

Review: I will be returning my 3rd set today. I'm not sure if I'm getting a 4th or my money back. These work great for 1 or 2 workouts then the buttons stop working. These are NOT designed for active people. The slightest bit of sweat/moisture fries the side buttons. $100. for disposable, 1 time use headset is unacceptable.

Goodbye MOTO

Pros: Nice design, great concept

Cons: Product doesn't match the marketing

Review: The design and concept are exactly what I was waiting for. This was the perfect match for my bluetooth phone/mp3 player.

The problem is that the product doesn't live up the marketing hype. My first pair worked great for about two weeks. The second lasted a little longer, because I took a month off from running. After two weeks of running the buttons on the second pair stopped working.

Motorola is replacing them under warranty, but I'm confident they will get them back after another two weeks of running.

Don't waste your money if you are buying these to use during a workout.

After 3 others, I finally found S9

Pros: Lightweight, comfortable, sleek, non-obtusive, great sound, easy to use, great controls

Cons: No USB cord

Review: I love this phone. I own a LG Chocolate and have tried 3 other stereo/phone accesories before finding this one. The first one was corded, but because I couldn't charge the phone and listen at the same time I moved on to a Bluetooth unit (I have since found that I could purchase an adapter that allows me to charge and listen at the same time...which is what I was going to do as my 5th option...but then there was S9).

My first Bluetooth unit was another Motorola (Soundpilot). Everything about the listening experience was fine, and I could hear the callers great. The major problem is no one could hear me. The whole intent for me was to be able to have something that I could switch over to easily to take a quick phone call and then get back to my music/audio book/etc. without a lot of fuss. Another problem with the Soundpilot is I still found myself detangling cords on my wireless headset.

The second bluetooth unit was the LG Bluetooth Stereo Headset. It worked great, and was the best of all three Bluetooth units in regards to the other person being able to hear me. It was too large, though, and my ears tended to get pretty hot. Not to mention the quality of the phone itself wasn't very good. In fact it was terrible as it cracked after only 4 days use.

I was about to switch back to a corded option, when I decided to try the S9. I have to admit that I thought it was going to be too space age looking on me (I am a little on the conservative side), but I find that it blends in very well on my hair line. It is very comfortable. It did pinch my ears a little like others have stated, but all I had to do was adjust the rotation of the little cups and they fit great!

I would love it if the battery lasted longer, but it is as good if not better than the others items in this category.

It does pick up more background noise when on a call than I would like, but I have another Bluetooth option if I know I am going to be speaking on the phone for longer periods of time. I got the S9 so I could enjoy my music and books in stereo and be able to take calls with ease (I found myself with only one bud in my ear and my old "stickly for phone" headset on the other so it would minimize the manipulation of multiple items to get to the phone call).

The controls are very easy to use. I have only had it for less than a week, so I am anxious to get it past the 2-week mark and see if it outperforms some of those who have had control issues.

I would definitely recommend this to others.

I agree that it would be nice to have a USB cord shipped with the unit, but the armstrap that came included with mine is great!

Great idea but with problems

Pros: battery life, great features when they work

Cons: No durable at all, can't replace battery, hands free function sketchy

Review: I love these things for mountain biking and working out at the Y. I use them with my LG VX8600 phone. Enjoy them while you can. I have had the volume buttons quit on two sets so fare. I don't think they can handle sweet like the box says. I have not abused them ether. I guess if they don't work then there not much worth anything when it comes to rating them. Sorry Moto!

Excellent headset for the gym -- but not without it's flaws.

Pros: Great sound. Comfortable. Bluetooth. Excellent to use at the gym!

Cons: For those who wear glasses - this does offer a challenge.

Review: I've been wanting a new pair of headphones for over a year - but never broke down to get new ones. A friend of mine bought these, I tried them out - and went to buy my own pair. I admit I was a bit skeptical at first using these at the gym, but let me tell you -- they are excellent. Even jogging on the treadmill with these on is easy and comfortable. Now, I do wear glasses and since the band is a little thicker, I have to put the headset on first, then my glasses. A slight annoyance, but worth working around. The back piece is a little on the large side so you will notice it on the back of your neck with situps.

These also work while making calls (NOTE - you will ONLY hear sound in one ear piece as indicated in the manual). I made a few calls with these and no one knew I wasn't using the phone mic.

I use this in conjunction with my Moto Q and they make an excellent pair.

Pros: Good sound, nice form factor, easy to set up

Cons: Could be more comfy

Review: Nice headphones. I own 2 pair of Shure's (SE 430 and SE530). These are not quite the quality of the Shure but pretty close for less than half the price. Pros: in ear audio

Cons: tight fitting design,

Review: After using the Moto BT820, I got these thinking they were a good deal. The controls take some time getting used to, the fit is unconfortamble for periods longer than 2 hours, and the call quality is mediocre. Mostly good

Pros: Sound is decent, functionality is good

Cons: Bluetooth has horrible connectivity

Review: I had high hopes for this product and have been mostly happy with it. Here are some of my observations and concerns:

1. Head size-I have a larger than normal head and was concerned that the headset wouldn't fit correctly. However, it does fit and feel comfortable although I wouldn't mind about a 1/2 more on each side.

2. Battery duration-I've been happy with the battery duration. It holds on strong for about an hour and a half of listening to books on tape which is more than enough for my purposes.

3. Treo 650 compatibility-The headset worked out of the box for the phone function but I had to buy additional connectivity software from softstick to get the headset to work with my Real Player and Audible book tape software. Once I bought the additional software for about $20 it worked great.

4. Bluetooth-My biggest disappointment has been the bluetooth range. I like to put my Treo 650 in a belt pouch and listen to books on tape when I go walking but was disappointed to find spotty connectivity when the belt was around my waist. I ended up having to put it in an armband to get it to work without constantly cutting out. In fact, it works better when the Treo is across the room than when its around my waist area. This would be acceptable for a cheaper unit but for how much I paid for this, I was very dissapointed. The whole point of bluetooth is to be able to put this in my pocket and not have to hassle with wires.

5. Durability-I was initially impressed with the simple design and thought it would be able to stand up to exercising, walking etc, but lately I've found that the forward button will randomly engage in the middle of listening to a book tape. This is very frustrating when your suddenly bumped to the next section in the book and lose your place. It seems to go away ,for a while, if I massage the buttons, but with how new this is, it shouldn't be happening at all.

My final analysis always boils down to whether I would do this again if I had a do-over. In this case I would do over if the cost was about $50 dollars but at $100+, I wouldn't do it again. I would just stick with the old style headphones.

overall great item.

Pros: good sound, good reception

Cons: not quite flexible enough, noisy for person on other end of phone.

Review: I have used the S9 for about 2 weeks now, paired to a Samsung Blackjack phone. I must say that, overall, I am very impressed with the performance.
It paired very easily with my Blackjack, and when I turn it on, it pairs quickly again. The reception is excellent - I have gone as far as 40 feet (straightline) before I started to experience static. At times, however, when the phone is in my pocket, depending on how I turn, it tends to drop a little. Usually, though, my phone is on my hip, with no issue there.
I use this headset in some pretty harsh conditions. I service commercial a/c equipment, so I find myself using it on roofs, in equipment rooms, and in attics. It performs flawlessly around all the equipment, and does not impair my work if I need to squeeze into a small area.
I can hear a conversation just fine, but it seems that people on the other end can't hear quite as well as I would hope.

Talking: Background noise does tend to be an issue with this headset. I usually overcome this by talking louder, but it is somewhat annoying. I would change this if possible.
I would also like the headset to be a little more flexible. While pretty much comfortable for the most part, it would be great if it had some adjustability to the length of the temple pieces. But, I am pleased enough with the comfort.
I am also, at this point, pleased with the battery performance.

Buttons: It took me about 1 week to get accustomed to the location and sensitivity. Now, I have no issues with them (and my fingers are not the most agile). Motorola could improve them, but I can live with them.

Overall, I am satisfied with this headset.

Best wireless sound quality.

Pros: Great sound. Easy to use.

Cons: Slight discomfort when wearing.

Review: These headphones are great. The sound quality for music is spectacular. Call quality is lacking. Voice only plays through one ear, but this is easy to live with considering I bought them for music.

After wearing for a while the earbuds do begin to hurt. But I have found that this can be prevented by simpling turning the earbud tips to fit in you ear better.

Must have for anyone who wants to go wireless with their music. They work great with my LG Wave and also very well with my laptop.

Buy Buy Buy!!!!

Pros: Great sound quality; Plenty of volume

Cons: A little tight on larger heads (like mine)

Review: Bought these at Sam's last night as a package deal with an iPod bluetooth adapter.

I was blown away. These kill other little ear buds. Wires suck. Sound is excellent and I actually had to lower volume to not get hurt eardrums. I had no idea i could use them as a speakerphone as well...should come in handy when playing ps3 on net. The only thing I have foud wrong is that they are a little tight around the back of my large head as others have noted. Do not pass up an opportunity to get these. ROCK ON!!

I am so lucky that i was born in this TECH age

Pros: Sound quality, weight, style of wearing, ease of operation

Cons: It hurts...

Review: Today I bought my moto s9 headset for Rs. 2850 (arnd $70).First I tried to pair it wih my laptop. But the built in bluetooth in the laptop only managed to give a choppy sound. This really freaked me out. I thought I was handed a defective piece. I also decided to use a bluetooth dongle before returning it and guess what..I discovered S9 deserves all the praise it has been receiving.

Its a masterpiece. Sound is crisp, clear and rich. It weighs only a few grams. After listening to songs for hours I was encouraged to watch a movie, and sound was so damn good, I was patting myself on my back throughout the movie.

I also like the fact that when u r charging it, the status light turns yellow from red after it headset has been charged 25%. So u can keep track of the charging process.

Changing tracks, adjusting volume, playing and pausing tracks are just a breeze. Some people have criticized the controls, but i find them perfectly fine.

I hate to admit it, but headset hurts after wearing it for sometime. May be the earbuds r large or may be its supposed to be like this.
But belive me, deciding not to buy S9 would hurt u even more.

Mark my words, its the BESTest :) headset out there, if u like to hear music through ur BT headset.

Now stop reading all these reviews, go and grab one S9.

Cheers to S9

I bet it works great, but it won't stay on my head.

Pros: It has all of the features I want and is just right for me, except...

Cons: it's not big enough for my head!

Review: I never realized I have a "big noggin" until I bought this headset. If I put them on and look down or straight ahead, I'm ok, but if I look up at all, they start to pull out of my ears. I never got a chance to really try it beyond that. Back to the store they go.

Why not have just a LITTLE BIT of adjustability?

perfect compliment for a stereo bluetooth phone

Pros: no wires!!!!!

Cons: call quality is not the best

Review: I just picked this up with my vx8550 and its just amazing how small the headset is and how well it performs. mine also came with an armband to hold my phone while at the gym.
my only complaint is that in call mode the sound is only in one ear, I would have prefered to hear the sound in both ears during a call.
If you work out a lot or you do active stuff, this is a must have!

Great inside but not out doors

Pros: Lightweight with decent sound. Easy set-up

Cons: Control buttons are small and hard to use

Review: I paired theses headphones with the Razar V3xx. At first I was amazed with the clarity when using them in the car or indoors. The problem came when using them outdoors. The sound was choppy and listening to MP3s was next to impossible. The instructions said to move the phone closer to the headset but even holding the phone at the back of my head didn't help.

I like it so far, but def takes some getting used to

Pros: buttons are easy to use and it doesnt make you look like a cyborg

Cons: can be uncomfortable for people with bigger melons and the sound quality is so/so

Review: I like being wireless as one of my biggest fears is to have a brain fart at the gym and pull my phone off the treadmill ledge while I am watching my slingbox and breaking it. Just for that reason it is worth it to me. This is definitely the most normal looking of the stereo bluetooth headsets.

it took me a while to get comfortable with it. i changed out the earbuds and finally found it to be comfortable. it is tough to use w/ glasses / sunglasses though as it is makes them slide around. all in all i like it, but I figure there will be something better in the next year or so.

Wow! best bluetooth stereo headphones on the market by far!

Pros: looks great around your head, sound is excellent, very loud, comfort, easy to use buttons

Cons: your voice is recognized through a small speakerphone, will pick up background noise.

Review: Let me start off by saying I have done a lot of research on these bluetooth stereo headphones. I have a LG chocolate and I have been looking for these to replace my mp3 player and to use something more convenient when working out.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to buy these b/c i thought they looked the most subtle and seemed to look very cool when ur wearing them. Most of the other stereo bluetooth headphones are gigantic and make you look like a nerd. Research told me that most the of the stereo bluetooth headphones are still poor quality when listening to music but I wanted one anyway.

I bought the s9 for $74.99. I wasnt expecting much, but I found out that this thing is great! Everytime I use it, I can't stop smiling b/c its so cool!

Some people were complaining about the comfort. I have a normal size head and it fits perfectly! I can't feelany of the wraparound piece, it just feels like I'm wearing regular earbuds.

The sound is fantastic! I can't hear any difference between these and my best pair of headphones...seriously! tremendous bass sound, everything is crystal clear.

a problem with most bluetooth stereo headphones is the loudness factor, they don't get loud enough. You won't have a problem with that when using these. I have these set to volume 4/10 and its perfect loudness. When set to 10/10, you can listen to the song clearly w/out even having it in ur ears.

The buttons are great. They are very easy to use. Don't listen to the other guy that said the volume control is screwed up. It does make a very subtle beep but the music doesnt pause. The beep is actually good b/c you know when u lowered or raised the volume.

the only con I can come up with is when your talking to someone with these, you are talking through a small speakerphone b/c there aren't any pieces close to your mouth (if there was, it would look pretty lame). It will pick up background noise that the other person you are talking to can hear. I normally bought these for listening to music though, not calling people. Other than that I can't think of any other cons.

I really don't know why this isn't scored higher. Maybe it just works well w/ the LG chocolate or something...it's great b/c the color matches perfectly with it too. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made in buying electronics. I'm so happy with it. Buy it! you won't regret it.

Not such a good fit...

Pros: Audio quality, range, style, controls

Cons: Astonishingly uncomfortable

Review: I bought my S9's without doing my homework -- my bad. But I got lucky -- I have to say that the S9 is one of the neatest toys I've played with in recent memory.

The ear mounted controls make listening to and controlling music, as well and making and receiving calls a breeze – plus you get to feel a little like Lieutenant O’Hura. For best hands-free calling performance you’ll want to use the S9’s with a phone that has good speech recognition.

In addition to the great controls, the audio quality of the S9 is very good as well. Clear highs, nice midrange, and warm bass -- all well balanced at both high and low volumes.

Be forewarned, however, that while the headphones are capable of great audio your device may not be. For instance, my Vista Tablet PC rocked with the S9, while audio from my phone was "fuzzy." Listening to the same music on my phone with wired headphones produced beautiful audio. Clearly some phones could use better A2DP profile support (I’m talking to you HTC.)

The styling of the S9 is nice as well. And they are light-weight. But the real issue isn’t always weight. In the case of the S9, a product that I would otherwise rate as a 10, there is a major problem that makes it loose 5 points: the S9 is the most uncomfortable device I have ever worn over my ears. The CNET review hints at, but largely sidesteps, this very serious issue.

Because of the hard plastic used in the construction of the arms, the S9 squeezes against your head just above the ears. After just 30 minutes it this can become extremely uncomfortable. And don’t even think about wearing sunglasses or a hat with the S9 as both compound the problem significantly. A lesser issue is discomfort in the ear opening where the drivers rest, although this could probably compensated for with a different size earpiece, of which several are included with the S9.

To summarize, the S9 is excellent technology that works well, but it’s industrial design is severely flawed if Motorola intended to target consumers that would wear the S9’s for hours at a time. I suppose I could just have a big head, but I wear a medium in a baseball cap. Go figure.

This S9 turned out to be very good better than what I thought it would have been

Pros: The music sounds great once you put on the ear buds which come with it

Cons: Talkin on the phone is great if your by your self with no noise

Review: Living in 2007 it's all about fashion and the S9 is just the perfect stereo blue tooth to get. The sound quality is perfect if your connection is good. The buttons are very easy to get used to and are touch sensitive. The down fault is that Motorola spent to much time trying to enhance the voice and so when you receive a call the S9 picks up every noise in the back round.

I am a body builder and the weight room can be pretty loud. The S9 is great at blocking the noise. Very light weight product.

If you have a Motorola HT820 it is almost as good as this but it's to big and doesn't give you the bass that you thought you would get from it.

Last and for most do not buy this at Best Buy or Circuit city because they will put a whole in your wallet (about $120.00) get it online or a music store like J&R's. I got mines at J&R's during the July 4th sale for $80.00 and tax.

This is a must get product if you love wireless music, love looking stylish, and you love being up to date on your technology.

Pretty good, but have some glaring deficiencies.

Pros: Small, lightweight, comfortable (for my head.)

Cons: Sound, microphone vulnerable to ANY wind (even the AC in my house.)

Review: I bought these because they are the smallest and most discrete bluetooth headphones available that don't involve ANY wires (like the Plantronics 260.) I got them to go with my LG VX8600 (flip version of the Chocolate.) They pair easily and have pretty decent range. The controls are a little futzy and take some getting used to, but overall I think the interface is pretty good considering how tiny all the pieces are. The big disappointment is the sound quality. The cnet review said they weren't the clearest sounding headphones they'd ever heard. That's a HUGE understatement. All music sounds a bit muffled. The call quality is worse, people can be difficult to understand, and when switching between the phone and the headset people say they notice a huge difference. So, these are very nice in terms of ergonomics, looks, and are just really dang light and small. For those qualities alone I am giving it a "good" rating, but for something that is sold as a music product, they leave a lot to be desired.

This is a great product for the active lifestyle!

Pros: No more wires, and stays in your ears. Decent battery life with constant use. Decent sound for bluetooth device.

Cons: Tactile feel of buttons need some attention. Okay, not great for phone use.

Review: I've loved this product ever since I got it for father's day. I paired mine with my LG Chocolate, and I must say bluetooth is the way to go for the active lifestyle. I go running and biking with these and they hold up well to the sweat and elements. Wearing your phone on an armband is a must for optimum reception in the open outdoors. Have yet to run a marathon with these, but they held up during my 10 mile runs. I only wish the tactile feel of the buttons was more pronounced however.

Great until the buttons stop working...

Pros: Great sound, comfortable to wear

Cons: Control buttons stop working, on my 3rd headset

Review: This headset almost ended my search for ones that I liked enough to keep. They sound great, are comfortable to wear, even for extended periods.

I bought my first set, they worked fine for a couple months, then 3 of the 4 touch-sensitive buttons stopped working. Had them to long to return, so had to ship them to Motorola for replacement, and shipping is not covered.

Got so used to having them, couldn't do without -- so bought another one and figured I'd go with 2, having a charged one at all times. After a couple weeks now, the volume controls stopped working, and the forward/back buttons are working inconsistently.

Primarily worn during workouts, I don't think this headset likes sweat -- it's the only thing I can think of that is frying the control buttons.

Hopefully, they'll iron this out with future builds, but the initial ones that have gone out seem to be duds. The first one I purchased online, 2nd at a local Best Buy.

sounds good but not 100% sweatproof

Pros: comfy device, good sound

Cons: little bulky, salt from sweat will kill it

Review: I bought this stereo bluetooth headset for my new Moto Razr V3xx to take on a fishing trip. Also had to buy a MicroSD card to store music on my phone.

I did no research to know what other headphones were out there, so I was kind of going at it blind. This model just happened to be newly released (bought in Apr 07), but I had no idea.

This was my first Bluetooth device, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleased at first at how well it worked. Sounded clear and plenty loud.

After the trip, I began using the headset while cycling and inline skating. I tend to do many hours at a time on the bike or skates. But one day recently it was in the 90s and I was sweating like crazy. The next day the buttons were not working and I noticed that there was quite a bit of salt caked up around the speakers. Don't have to be Sherlock to know what happened. So I simply took the S9s back to Best Buy and traded them in on a new set. But this time I started using the large, soft earcups. Sounded even better! But now it might be more dangerous to bike or skate since the fat earcups tend to block out more ambient sound.

I love them, but they aren't as sweat resistant as they are claimed to be.

Great headset from Motorola

Pros: Lightweight, not dorky looking, decent sound

Cons: needs an adapter for regular iPod

Review: I use these all the time with my Samsung Blackjack. Sound is good and range is amazing - much further than advertised. Controls are easy and switching from music to phone mode is automatic when calls come in. Really like these and hope they work as well with the iPhone when it comes out.

Worth buying

Pros: Great sound

Cons: Battery life could be better

Review: I bought these to be able to walk around my house and listen to tunes from my computer. The sound is great. I've read someone stating the bass is weak, but for me it is fine. Controls are great, you can switch between tunes both forward and backward as well as pause and increase/decrease volume.

Range depends on the bluetooth hub your using bluetooth is not as good as wireless 802, but it is good enough with the range around 30 feet and the ability to go through walls.

Phone implementation is fair. The mic (hidden in the earpiece) is shakey but alright. Sound only comes through the left ear and that is disappointing. Pairing with my LG cu400 was a snap.

Comfort is alright, I agree with the CNET reveiew in that the earbuds can pinch if not put on correctly.

Cost is too high a price point of $50-80 would be a lot better but right now this is pretty bleeding edge and there is a strong demand for this type of product so Motorola will get away with > $100 prices for a while.

Documentation with bad, the manual is small and the troubleshooting section a joke. Sadly this is the way things are in today's.
world.

If you are connecting to a computer remember to change your sound output via the control panel -> sounds -> audio from your sound card to bluetooth audio device.

Bottom line: I love this product even with it's imperfections.

They sound great

Pros: Great fit and the sound is perfect

Cons: My Samsung Blackjack breaks the signal

Review: I love this headset. It fits well and the ergonomics are right on. My one problem, and it may be my Samsung Blackjack cell phone, it has a break up sound problem when I put the phone in my pocket. I also noticed if I rub the front or back of the phone on my shirt, the sound begins breaking up. It does not do it with wired headphones, but who wants wired headphones? If I just lay the phone on my desk, the headset works perfectly

outstanding

Pros: sound, lite weight

Cons: price, 6 hr battery life

Review: Fantastic device! Pricey, but I'm glad I sunk about $100 into getting these headphones. Very lightweight. Never thought they would stay in my ears while running 5 miles at a time, especially when lubed up with sweat, but they haven't fallen out yet. Sound quality is excellent. The headphones are paired with my Treo 650 smartphone. Needed a little extra software for the A2DP streaming music output, but now all is great! Even though I'd like the battery charge to last appx 20 hours of use, I am satisfied with the 6 hours of use because I know that more battery length would mean a much heavier device. It really does weigh about 1 oz and it's hard to imagine that there really is a battery in there... somewhere. How they got all that technology into it is beyond me.

Motorola s9 Bluetooth Headset

Pros: Lightweight, confortable

Cons: Rubbish case included and a little fidly to stop the music or pause it due to the touch sensitive controls

Review: I bought this headset a week ago. At first, I wasn't sure about the comfort of them and the fact that they sit just above the back of your neck. I have been using normal Sony earbud headphones with my Sony Ericsson W850i for the gym and had enough of catching the wire and pulling my phone off the running machine!! The first time i used them, they were ok but the more I used them the more I liked them!!! They are fantastic, excellent quality, excellent sound, confortable and discreet with a brilliant idea of putting the controls for skipping track etc on the side. In conclusion, well worth buying just persivere with them until you get used to themif you're used to earbud style headsets.

Pretty damn good

Pros: Light weight, sleek design, easy controls, clear sound, great for bragging rights

Cons: Awkward fit, calls only come in on the left side and extremely HARD TO FIND!

Review: After messing with a few wireless headphones and hundreds of wired headphone i decided on these. I read about these for about 2 weeks and finally started hunting for them. I went to every bestbuy and circuitcity i could find and came up with the same results.... SOLD OUT! well, i finally got one yesterday after 3 weeks of searching. When i got them, they fit kindda funny? the back of it is designed to float and not rest on the back of your neck/ head like most headphones. Well once i got over that, i tested it out. Soud was good and it didn't fall off when i was running. It like the simple controls and the manual is really easy to understand. my only gripe is, like all the other reviews, calls only come in the left side. Over all i am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Once the black on black set comes out, i will buy it for my girlfriend.

with good phone, you will be blown away

Pros: lightweight, sound quality

Cons: controls take time to get used to

Review: I have them with my Nokia 5300 and I'm absolutely amazed by the ease of use, sound quality and weight (what weight?). You will easily forget that you wear them, listening to the music. Incomming call ?, music pauses, changes to a ringtone, you tap just above your left speaker and start to talk. Everybody I talked to thru them, could not believe the sound quality, and you even cannot find the microphone on the damn thing! I played soccer with them today with no problem at all. Good job Motorola. I see in many reviews people strugling. Advice? Get the phone with Bluetooth 2.0.

Pros: Functionally Sound w/ Style

Cons: A bit pricey and still have a minor geek effect

Cons: They do not support SCMS-T protocol so you may need to update your BT software.
