Pros Natural Sound, Can be very loud and clear without distortion, Noise cancelling, Powerful
Cons Lacks ear poppin bass, Can get uncomfortable
Summary They felt tight when I first put them around me head. It is very clear and has a brilliant sound but it lacks bass where you want it most like in hip/hop songs. I'm listening to music with these on while writing this review and I have to say brings a good set of speakers to your ears. It gets a fairly good score because it has a brilliant warm sound that plays inside your head, its ability to juggle every type of music. I was disappointed at first, but the its sound manipulated my eardrums into believing bass isn't the answer to a good piece of music. You will notice rumbling bass though lots of as well but not ear poppin' bass. With the exception of rap and dance because they require lots of bass I think this headphone more than satisfies every need.

Pros great sound,value for money(42 euros,Greece)
Cons A bit tight...
Summary These headphones are fantastic.
If you consider the 42 euros i gave!!
The sound is outstanding, you can hear everything, you got an incredible noise redution.
I descovered new sounds and elements in tracks that i hear everyday!!!
Well done sennheizer!
Cons Scratchy mid range.
A bit tighter and more uncomfortable than the other models.
Summary I have had 4 sets of sennheisers that I have used for various things, the 201, 202, 205 (this one), and the 280 Pro. These are great cans, but nothing compared to the 280 pro. Still great sennheiser quality tho. More clarity than 202 but scratchier, in the mid range especially. Both are better than the 201. The 205 is by far the most stylish of all of the models, and has a great design. An overall good set of cans, but if you want true sound quality go for the slightly more expensive 280 and you wont be dissapointed.

Summary The Sennheiser HD 205 is one of the best headphones you can get out there for a decent price. I am not an audiophile or a serious sound specialist or something. But I do listen to music almost all the time of my life. Almost all kinda music like Rap, hip-hop, Rock ( my favourite ), Techno and almost all kinda music as long as it is good at keep you entertained. I also listen lot of Indian music, which are quite a feast of instruments and vocals.
The Sennheiser HD 205 does a wonderful job of immersing me in to world of music. I could listen to all the sounds clearly. The bass is so precise and good. I have other headphones and earphones. Also good external speaker setups. But whenever I wanna listen to music I use the Sennheiser HD 205 because everytime I listen from the Sennheiser HD 205, I feel so good.
First day I bought Sennheiser HD 205, I hated it so much coz I cant feel any bass. Also the sound quality was so bad. Feels like a cheap headphone. I thought I just lost a lot of money for these crappy headphone. Then after some weeks the headphones started to sound really good. Especially the quality of sound increased and bass became to sound pretty deep. And now everything is perfect as in perfect. Now I am so happy that I bought these headphones because the quality I get when I listen to these so perfect.
Also when you listen to music, especially a bit louder, these headphones wont hurt your ears. The bass is perfect for music and it is not overpowered. Even when listening to techno mixes, you could feel the base so strong and still wont hurt your ears.
When you listen to movies in Windows media player, I always turn on the SRS WoW effect. This will change the output of these headphones to a more bass oriented output. So you could enjoy a movie as a movie.
Noise cancellation of these headphones are super. And this one time I took these headphones for a trip on train to use with my laptop. After I put the headphones on my head, the surrounding noise actually went down. And when I started listening to music/Movies, I could not even hear a sound from my surroundings. These headphones do a good job of blocking outside noise. But even though it is a wonderful noise cancellation headphone, I would not recommend it for taking outside as it has this long 3m cord which is kind of annoying.
Bottom line is, these headphones are really good for music than it?s for movies.
1) Amazing sound quality
2) Wont hurt your ears due to overpowered bass
3) Nice build quality
4) Good noise cancellation
5) Can turn the volume up without hurting your ears.
6) Good price per performance ratio
1) It feels a little tight on the head when you wear it.
2) Long cord
3) Need some run time to achieve the full performace ( Burn in time or something)
I hope this review would be helpful those people who are still looking for a review from a regular user?s point for view.
Pros 3D sound, very good, smooth bass and smooth highs
Cons Supra-aural means they may not be comfortable for everyone, recessed mids
Summary I bought these to complement the sound of HD497, which I found a little too bass-shy (atually, they give out creaking noises when the bass is continous or strong, which indicates that their magnet/driver isn't very powerful). The HD205 sound pretty neutral, almost as neutral as HD497, but their bass is incredible when cranked up with an EQ. It's smooth, non-fatiguing and yet very powerful - a wonderful feature. The mids aren't as good, except the lower mids, as they can't really be heard properly, they might be blurred, I'm not sure. The higher mids and highs are pretty good, but some people migth not like the 3D effect that these headphones deliver, it makes the listener feel that the music is getting closer or farther. So far it's to my liking, but I can't say if it stays that way for a long time. The sound isn't as natural as that of the HD497, but at this price point one must make compromises.
Overall, these sound pretty good, smooth and neutral (without an EQ). They are also seem pretty durable and look good.
