"Bass Lovers this is it..."4.5 starson by vaqar001
Pros: Excellent Solid built. Unique Bass. Big sound stage. Warm sound. Great Isolation compared to all other IME's
Cons: Price is extremely high. The carry case is a bit bigger in size. Wires tangle easily and quiet often. Nothing else so far.
Summary: These are actually made for bass lovers. The bass is quiet deep and has a strong punchy feel to it. but great bass does not mean that ie8 are not good in highs and mids. Highs and mids are excellent and ommit a warm signature which i feel is good and pleasent to your ears. The manual bass adjustment is a very unique concept and works as it is defined in the products description but keeping the bass screw at half is more than enough to make your mind blow away. The over all sound stage is just huge. But the most important thing is the isolation, i just love the isolation of ie8 it seemed that they were made for my ears on special order as out of the box they fitted perfect in my ears. I have heard people talking about the UE tripple fi IME's but what good is an earphone when 80% of people have fitting issues. To me ie8 are the best option. The carry case is a bit big and clumzy but it manages the headphones and its accessories quite safely. Design is just awosome and the built quality is long lasting. Replace able wire again make them unique. A must have listening tool.Correction the adjustment screw is for sound tuning as described on the box not for bass. Secondly i feel that the bass is a bit consoled in some songs. these sound great while playing some songs but sound tereble whle playing others. this might be due to bad recording but not quite. i know you need to burn the dynamic drives before you come to any conclusion. but so far after 1 week of use for 3 hours daily the mid bass is tereble and anoying, lets see after 200 hrs of burning as recommended by other reviewers on other websites. Hope they start sounding good. in comparison to my cx300II's these have a big sound stage but the only issue so far is the bass. i have the cx300II's since 7 months and they are completely burnt and ready for any thing and believe they soung great for what their price is. But as far as ie8 is concerned im still waiting for their dynamic drivers to burn so that they strat sounding good. lets see will keep posted.
IF U ARE NOT INTERESTED IN BASS GO BUY SOMETHING ELSE. BUT IF YOU ARE THESE ARE THE ONES SO FAR FOR U.

Updated on Dec 30, 2009Final Update. These are really good headphones and the bass has just started to flow now and has become more punchy. I just like using them. SO atlease 50 hrs of burning might be helpfull.
Updated on Dec 11, 2010Ok today it has been exactly a year since i reviewed these ther first time. have to say the sound quality has been changing throughout and has reached a term i should call superb. Simply love carrying them with me so addicted to them. Bass is just perfect and every thing negative regarding sound quality i complained about has vanished. So the conclusion is the more u burn these the more Quality u get. Cant explain in word u have to experience these for ur self. Just love them they are almost perfect :-) and the built quality is amaizing. Sennheiser rocks.I should say its a one time expense but a great experience so if ur thinking to buy ie8 dont think go ahead with ur eyes closed.
