"difficult fit, but very good sound"

4 stars  | on by npmd

Pros

similar characteristics in overall sound to Shure se series but somewhat tinny at the high frequency end. Pretty precise bass. No buzzing.

Cons

The over-the-ear piece doesn't stay. It's difficult to keep the earpiece in while simultaneously keeping the over-the ear piece in place. It's often one or the other. And the thin wires get tangled every time I put them back in the case.

Summary

Not my favorite earpiece, but since my daughter broke her Shure SE4's, I gave her mine and bought these on sale. I'll have to go back to Shure, for sure. Sorry:)

"Fantastic sound compared to other ear buds"

Pros

Great, great bass
Perfect mid-range
Excellent high end, if not quite as strong as the more expensive units
Excellent noise supression

Cons

Carrying case big and clunky

I had the opportunity to compare the IE6's with Sennheiser's IE7's & 8's, and against with a number of other high end ear buds and my old Panasonic noise canceling buds in a store. What a gift!
- The Sennheisers blew the other brands away in the bass - strong, clear and mellow
- The mid-range was superb, especially vocals
- The high end was not as sharp as even more expensive units, but I felt that the cost-benefit of spending 50% or 100% more didn't justify the added top end detail.
The store had an airplane noise simulator, and I tried the passive noise cancellation of the Sennheisers against active noise cancellation from my Panasonic buds and from Bose over the ear headphones. The passive cancellation was equal to the Bose, and better than the Panasonics (which admittedly cost only $60).
Finally, I looked at design. The Sennheisers have no stress points in the cords, so they will not fray as my Panasonics did.
Since buying, I have used them on two long plane flights and they remain comfortable for 6 hours at a go. I really like the over the ear cord management. But most of all, I love the sound that I get out of my iPod now. This is the way to go!

"Great! Awesome!"

Pros

Hi I just bought Sennheiser IE6 and I must admit it's great and clear sound, a lot of bass, and you can hear every single sound!

Cons

Nothing against

Summary

And it's loooud, but even then you have the same, top quality!
If I would buy headphones, I would buy the same again!
Don't wait, it is best choice.
