  • "It depends on what TYPE of music you listen to!"
    on by HeyItsJoel

    Pros Strong mids and highs

    Cons Rather weak lows

Summary Ok. All the reviews I've read have been raving about these headphones. It just so happens that I'm in the market so I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it locally--paying tax and all.

Like I said I've done my research and people seem to have a love/hate relationship with these buds. The majority of which seem to be the former rather than the latter. What I didn't read from the reviews is the application in which these buds would excel at or fall short of in terms of the TYPE of music you listen to. I listen to all kinds of music and I wanted to see for myself if I would like them enough to keep it.

Long story short, it goes like this...if the majority of music you listen to is ROCK, POP, CLASSICAL, LIVE BAND, VOCALS and COUNTRY, then the E2c is for you! The reviews are right about the clarity and resolution you get. It's amazing.

But, if the majority of music you listen to are HIP HOP, R&B, JAZZ and SOUL where the lower end need to be more prominent, then I'm sorry my friend but you will be left wanting. The reviews were also right in that the rendition of bass E2c puts out is, for lack of a better word, ...weak. :(. Yes, I made sure that there was a good seal around my ear canals and everything. Tried all the tips that came with the buds too!

I like my music to thump. My tunes need to make me move! Without adequate bass, it's just not going to happen. So, my curiosity-- as it stands --is satisfied. The E2c's are not for me.

I gave it a rating of '6' because, like I said, they are good with certain types of music. In my case, my headphones must good with ALL types of music. I wanted to like them but I can't justify the $99 price tag if I'm not completely happy. So back they go.

  • "STILL Looking for good headphones!"
    on by LizAnne044

Pros When they are in right, they sound good

Cons Its hard to get them in right!

Summary Found E2C at Sam's Club - 59.99. I have never been so dissapointed in fit. They are WORSE than $10.00 earbuds - just about have to TAPE them into my damn ear!! Tried different size foam, still, not good fit. The wire itself is to heavy and pulls at the earbuds, which slide out - I am a runner and was hoping to finally find a DECENT SET OF EARBUDS!! No such luck!
I would actually like to throw these as SHURE!

  • "!IF YOUR LOOKING TO BUY THESE READ THIS!"
    on by andremen66

Pros PROS - snug fit, amazing sound, durable

Cons CONS - NONE unless you like the bass to over power the rest of music

Summary I did a lot a research before i bought these and to be honest all the low ratings for this product have to do with no bass or muddy sound,...... for one i like bass probably more than most people but when im listening to music i like to hear all aspects of it and these headphones certainly do that with a pefect amount of bass! Now where i bought them i was able to try them first and i will say that the fit wont be for everyone so if you can try them first to confirm the fit because if the fit is off it will hugely affect the quality of sound. In conclusion well worth the money and i would hightly recommend these to anyone who has a good ear for music and enjoys high fidelity sound. oh and they like all other headphones take about 10 to 15 hours to break in so be patient,... you won't be disapointed!

  • "Excellent Earbuds"
    on by magnusmclintock

Pros Excellent fidelity, very comfortable when worn properly

    Cons Can be pricey

Summary I go through headphones very, very quickly, but I feel these will be with me for a good long time. The sound quality is excellent, and most of the "poor bass" probably comes from people using these with low quality audio. I don't listen to a lot of hip-hop, but i do like iron maiden, whose songs feature very prominent bass, which I never have A problem with coming through, the same my coltrane stuff (giant steps sounds amazing, very clear). I would have paid full price for these gladly.

  • "Great sound but poor quality wires."
    on by mooremusic

Pros Great sound, easy to use.

Cons Problem with wires caused sound on right side to go out.

Summary I've had the E2c's for just over two years and was very satisifed until a wire problem caused the right side sound to go out. I have since read several place where others have had the same or similar problems with the wires. I think I am going to try the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3 - at least those come with replaceable wires.
