"Terrible Muffled Sounding Bass, Uncomfortable. Decent sounding Treble." on by odonovan2k5
Pros: Decent Highs
Cons: Really Bad Bass, When volume is increased the Bass Distorts the entire Song.
Summary: I was really disappointed by these IE Headphones.. I had read numerous reviews over Cnet, and for the most part they sounded pretty good. This was the second pair I bought following some Sony Premium IE Headphones that were around $40. Those were returned due to just overall horrible sound. In my honest opinion, the Shure E2C headphones are really uncomfortable, even with the different ear pieces that they offer. The biggest shock was the poor low frequency quality.. I mean it was amazing how bad the Bass sounded. For anyone that really wants some quality headphones at around the same price I would definitly reccomend the BOSE IE Headphones, at around $99. The travel case is way more conveniant, and less tacky then Shures, and the overall comfort is much better. Please take it from me and do not purchase these Headphones.

"Bass-Less accusations?" on by JayR
Pros: Very comfortable, snug fit
Cons: Terrible bass
Summary: This company should be ashamed for charging so much for these earphones. Whoever thinks these earphones have great bass must not be used to hearing a lot of bass. First, I assure you that the earbuds were placed in my ear snugly and perfectly. In fact, when I did it, I felt like I was in an airplane; the air pressure or whatever made it feel weird. It was almost as if I had become deaf to the external environment. With such a tight fit, I figured I was in for a treat. Wrong. The sound was definitely mediocre. The $50 sony earphones I had sounded much better and the bass was much deeper. I tried equalizer after equalizer on my MP3 player and IPOD and the performance was absolute garbage. Definitely not what I expected, so I can only imagine how upset someone would be if they purchased this company's $500 earphones. I hate that these Shure earphones sounded so crappy, because they were the snuggest-fitting earphones and they felt comfortable. They weren't loose at all. But I knew after a few minutes, these $90 headphones were going straight back to the store. I just wish Sony's earphone cords werent so fragile and susceptible to fraying, or else I wouldn't have even bothered with these clowns.

"Engineering disaster" on by pescipio
Pros: Good sound
Cons: Uncomfortable, painful to wear
Summary: While the buds sounds good if you can jam them far enough into your ear canal, they won’t stay put. The very design, the tube that fits into the ear and the round bulb conspire against the listener. Then there’s the over the ear wire wrap that irritates the top of the ear.

"GOOD EARBUDS. SHOULD'VE STICKED TO ER6's THOUGH" on by Inspektah_Gadget
Pros: Strong wires, very durable. Comes with a bunch of sleeves to match your comfort level. Very good bass sound. Great at isolating sound. Come in a durable, carry pouch.
Cons: The biggest factor in any earphone/headphone should be comfort. Did Shure consider this in any way? The way they are shaped can irritate your canal. Falls out of earbuds very easily.
Summary: I have had the ER6's for about half a year and those are the best earphones I have ever bought. But they were starting to deteriorate and since I didn't have a warranty with it, I sold it and did research on what should my next earphones should be. Well after a couple weeks of debating, I decided to go with the Shure E2C Earphones.
Great earphones, can't lie about that, their bass is at a great quality, durable wires. Perfect length where you can keep your MP3 player tucked in your bottom jeans pocket. Comes with a bunch of earbud sleeves for best comfort level. Yet it still doesn't feel right when I put it in my ears.
I can't explain it clearly, but I'll try. The big ball that, I guess, controls the sound and everything (attached to the earbud sleeve in stock photo) is very uncomfortable, It has to be tucked by your canal in order to get the sound isolated and stop the earbuds from falling out. Yet it doesn't help with me. Plus, if you go to the gym, this is not the best choice as they most likely WILL come out your ears while doing physical activity (i.e.- running).
In summary, great earbuds, yet not perfected. The ER6's from Etymotic I feel are better, yet lack bass, which is why I gave the E2C a better than average score because its great sound capture does overshadow a few of its flaws.
