  • "A pair of Earphone that's definitely worth buying"
    4.5 stars
    on by fungkevintam

    Pros: -bass
    -Bass
    -BASS!!!!

    -Build Quality
    -Perfect SOund isolation
    -Fun: Cable replaceable

    Cons: -Weak separation of instruments
    -Long Cable
    -Could do better in clarity

Summary: -The BASS response is really strong and solid (wish it could be more solid though). The mids are smooth and highs are accurate. Considering the price of this pair of earphones, you can't ask for more.

-Sound-isolation is PERFECT (Foams do better), i have to get off my earphones every time to hear people properly.

-The cable might be long, but it's secure and tough, meaning that repeating coiling will not damage the cable.

    -The core part(driver in a shell)looks sturdy and well-built.

-Last but not least, SE215 in transparent black looks awesome

However, the separation of instruments and clarity is relatively weak. In worse case(low recording quality songs), all of the music kind of congests into the center.

-Female voice may not have the crystal clearness that there should have.

-Cable is long(well, i'm tall enough, but i still sometimes find it frustrating.)

Despite these cons, if you love bass, this is it. The SE215 suits u more than anything. Replacing a more decent cable(recommend silver braided) will help reduce the "congestion"problem.

Also, the kind of player you use greatly affects the performance of this pair of earphones. iPhone or iPod touch may produce sound that's too stuffy(a bit suffocating). If you are an apple lover, ipod classic will do much better. Other better players include Samsung, Cowon, Sansa Clip, iRiver...etc

However, strongly recommend users to pair SE215 up with a decent player (and maybe a replacement cable) for a more decent listening experience.
