"Truly AWESOME Headphones with a couple minor flaws" on by StanfordBear

    Pros: + Going Wireless
+ Superior sound that is excellent for all music genres
    + Kleer technology
    + Excellent noise isolation
+ Can be used as passive headphones
+ Design of transmitter dongle allows for use of devices without need to remove cases
    + Sturdy

Cons: - Headphone controls for track advance/reverse do NOT work when you are using the Syncs wirelessly
    - To charge the headphones and the transmitter dongle, you have to use the same charger
    - These are pretty big headphones that do not fold up

Summary: I've been using the Sync by 50 for a couple weeks now. In fact, I have them plugged into my MacBook Air right now streaming Pandora as I type this review. Since I also own the Beats Studio as well, I have to say I strongly prefer the Syncs. Here's the reasons why I love the Syncs:

    PROS:
+ Totally awesome for Bass-heavy music like Hip-Hop/Rap.
+ Great overall for all genres of music as well.
+ Being wireless is a huge convenience. From use on a plane or just around the house, this is a tremendous plus in my book.
+ Kleer technology provides a perfect, static-free, solid connection that blows away the Bluetooth headphones that I own.
+ Despite the lack of active noise-cancelling, there is excellent noise isolation and I have not been bothered by competing ambient sound.
+ Unlike the Beats which are unuseable without power, the Syncs can be still used with the included cord as passive headphones if you run out of juice.
+ Feel much more durable than the Beats.
+ Very Stylish (especially in white IMO). The flashing blue lights are a nice touch. Also great that you can easily turn the feature off/on if you want.
+ I like that the Kleer transmitter dongle is designed not to run completely flush with an iPhone or Macbook when plugged into the headphone jack. This allows me to use the transmitter perfectly without the need to remove my cases from these devices.

Now for the bad about these...

    CONS:
    - The headphone controls for track advance/reverse do NOT work when you are using the Syncs wirelessly. I thought my pair was defective until I read the manual. Apparently you can only use these buttons when you are connected via a USB or a 30-pin connector. This is ridiculous since I will never be using these headphones with either of these connections. The whole point of dropping $400 is to be able to go wireless. For 4 bills, I reasonably expected all the features to be able to be utilized in wireless mode.
    - To charge the headphones and the transmitter dongle, you have to unfortunately use the same charger. If you're in a time crunch, you better forget about charging these up. For such a high-end product, they should have really designed a dual-charging charger or simply given you 2 chargers.
    - These are pretty big headphones that do not fold up like the Beats. Because of this, the travel case is also definitely not as portable as the ones that come with the Beats. You do have to keep in mind that the lack of folding hinges however is the very reason that the Syncs feel much more durable than the Beats.

OVERALL: I feel the pluses really outweigh the negatives. For a truly novel wireless listening experience, I can overlook the design flaws I mentioned. Knowing what I know now, I would easily buy these again and I definitely would purchase these over the Beats if I could only pick one.

"pretty good headphones when compared to my beats studio" on by JDPCR7

    Pros: wireless
    appearance
    sound

    Cons: made of plastic
    fingerprint magnet
    EXPENSIVE

Summary: first off these headphones are very expensive (i didn't pay full price, and got them with points) but you may get lucky and be able to find a good deal on them. the range on these headphones is great and the sound quality is on par with the beats studio that i own and these are wireless! yes they are not perfect as they are made of plastic but it does seem more durable then beats especially since the headband is "shatterproof" they charge in about 2 hours or so and last around 17 hours, the blinking S in not for everyone but i t hunk its pretty cool. yes they my creak, the screws are exposed and the dongle is a bit weird but thats really nitpicking if you ask me, overall i say these headphones are really and i would recommend for anyone looking for wireless passive headphones. on a side note they are not active noise cancellation but when compared to my beats studio that are noise canceling, theres not that much of a difference.

"This is how C-NET reviews a $400 set of headphones?" on by toolow66

Pros: At least the review mentions that The Sync by 50 headphones headphones aren't noise cancelling, though that feature sometimes conflicts with better audio quality.

Cons: Umm, do they sound any good?
Just saying they're "lossless" proves nothing & is probably misleading; somr compression is likely necessary for the wireless signal (not to mention the already hacked-down algorhithms for tracks stored on most players).

Summary: Wow, even the mighty C-Net's reviewers suffers from The i-Blinders Effect; i.e., style and packaging are what matters, the innards not so much.

If you're reviewing headphones that cost more than most pro studio top-of-the-line cans, some analysis beyond "the plastic creaks" is expected!

In any case, I've found the celebrity earphones by Dr. Dre, Ludacris and now 50 to be pretty lacking in audio reasons for such exaggeratedly high purchase prices.
