These are great headphones for 10dollars
Pros: comfortable, decent sound
Cons: lot of the higher tones escapes, heard by everyone around you.
*Im a little confused about CNET how product like this can get a rating like 6.8 yet a higher end sony say the MDR-V150 gets a lower one. on inspection it looks like the people rating those headphones are rating based on the bst a headset can be, while the majority of ppl here are rating for the bargain...it shouldnt be this way. these headphones clear arent as good as those ones.

Great sound, great deal, comfortable
Pros: Great sound, clear at all frequencies; great price; comfortable; very durable
Cons: Not as compact as earbuds
I love the sound on these things. As a lifelong musician, I struggle to find good sound from consumer electronics. These bad boys are the only phones I use with my ipod. Do yourself a favor and grab a pair.

Perfect Budget 'Phones for mp3 players
Pros: Behind-the-Neck style, Good base response, Long cord, >$20 price.
Cons: Can be tight, Foam rips after extensive use.
Some may say that these Headphones may have too much bass response, and in truth, i have to agree. But when paired with mp3 players that too often are lacking in bass (iPod) this headset makes up for this, creating a wonderfully balanced sound with remarkable clarity, especially considering it's price. So these headphone not only help the sound of mp3 players, but it comes with better than average sound quality, cheap price, and they are certainly more comfortable than the "in-ear" headphones.
As I said before, they are the perfect budget 'phones for iPods and such.

good sound for money

The deal breaker is that these headphones are too TIGHT.
Pros: 1. Good mid-range and treble. 2. Lots of bass (for those who love pounding bass)
Cons: 1. Lots of bass (for those who DO NOT love pounding bass) 2. Fit is much too tight
COMFORT: These headphones are not comfortable. They are very tight-fitting ( my head is normal-sized), and although I assume they were designed this way to keep them from slipping, the end result is that they are painful to wear longer than about 20-30 minutes. I purchased these to listen to music on my computer while I work so non-slippage is irrelevant to me. I need comfort for long periods of time, and the lack of comfort is a significant strike against them.
Therefore, I cannot recommend these headphones. However, if you have a smaller-than-average sized head and a love of bass (or an equalizer to turn it down) then they may work for you.

Good price, poor sound quality
Pros: The MDR-G42s are fairly comfortable whether you're running or just listening to tunes.
Cons: The sound quality is so-so, and the bass reproduction is downright poor. They crack when listening at moderate to high volumes on my MP3 player.
