"Best pair out there for $10"
Pros: For the price, they sound great, if you push them into your ear they sound better, but work just fine without that. They also don't move, the only way they come out is when I get the cord stuck on a corner, and then usually the plug comes out.
Cons: They last about nine months for me, and then the right ear starts to falter and then dies a week or so later. A month after that the left usually follows, but then you run out to Target and buy another pair.
Summary: I'm hard on my earphones, I stuff them into an over full backpack then sling it across my back and walk to my next class all day long. And I get the cord stuck on odds and ends that pull out the cord from the player or the buds from my ear. I'm on my sixth pair now, they usually last me about 2 semesters then the right ear goes out. I let that bud dangle and wait until I get annoyed enough with only getting the left channel then run out to Target or Walmart and buy another pair.
I think they've got great sound quality, but I know I'm too hard on headphones to invest in a more expensive pair so I haven't heard the difference between these cheapies and the real deals. From the choral music I listen to, I can make out the low E flats and the soprano parts don't distort.
When I get a new mp3 player I always try the headphones that come with them for about a day and realize that I've got the player volume above half-way and the people around me can hear the music better than I can. When I switched to these I could keep my Creative Zen on 2 or 3 and still hear it above the buzz of a classroom of chatterers.
