Pros awesome sound quality
Cons noise cancelling module not ergonomic
Summary the sound quality is comparable to my bose triport @ $149.00. a must have for audiophile on the go. review submitted 2nd day using device.
Pros Comfortable. Sounds great. Blocks almost all incoming noise.
Cons Mono noise canceling.
Summary I bought these for to block out the noise from an airplane. And they do the trick. But if you notice, there are microphones on each earpiece. However the inverted noise that comes back to the speakers is mono. Meaning if you have someone shouting in one of your ears, you can hear it on the opposite side. The benefit to the is if one of the microphones breaks (or a dog chews it off in my case), the amp still sends back a signal to both earpieces. sly sony. But i still highly recommend these for thier comfort and sound quality. and... for thier excelent noise canceling ability. just watch your dog.
Pros reat Sound, Good Noise Cancelling
Cons Poor Design, Difficult to Use
Summary I got these as an ear bud alternative to a pair of Sennheiser PXC-250's. Fromthe reviews I was prepared to be impressed.
The problems are this:
1) It is very difficult to get the proper fit for the best possible sound and noise cancellation. The ear units are heavy, if you put them in your ears and get as snug a fit as possible, they easily come loose.
Additionally to really get he best sound, and noise cancellation you really need to push these into the inside of your ear canals. This is no easy task, and as funny as it sounds, the only way to do it, is to turn the ear pieces upside down so the actual buds fit snugly into your ear canal.
This looks really weird, you look like you have rabbitt ears sticking out of your head.
I can't believe they were deisgned to use like that.
If you don't do that and just push the buds into your ears , no matter what kind of snug fit you get, the noise cancelling, and isolation are just not that good. Bass is diminshed, and the music sounds tinny.
Plus they keep getting loose and coming out of the ears, unless of course you are lying down, or sitting.
I was very disappointed in the design of these.
Has anyone had any similiar experiences?
Pros Good sound quality, not great with or without the noise canceling
Cons Hissing sound with noise canceling on and no music.
Summary For the money I would highly recommend this headphone set. The ear buds are comfortable with a pocket clip for the battery pack. 1 AAA battery is reguired and if it goes dead the sound quality is still acceptable. The noise reduction is good with about a 40% reduction by my quess. These work well on an aircraft with little disturbance from outside noise. However, someone can still get your attention if they are next to you and talk directly at you. I am not a sound engineer nor a connoisseur of music. I play the music I like and if it sounds good it is good. These are a set of light weight portable headphones that travel well and sound good for the money. I bought mine as a factory refurb for $35. Check around for the best price, you will not be disappointed.
Pros Light and portable.
Cons Music must be on to cancel sound.
Summary I am owner of the $350 Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. These are BIG and heavy. And in the summer time also very hot and sweaty.
So I decided to go with a more modern and smaller unit. I picked the Sony.
The first time I tried it I was a bit disappointed because I had to have to music playing for the noise cancelation to work.
But I accepted it and made myself comfortable in the living coach. I tested the noise cancelation by making some sounds. I talked to myself and passed gas (loudly as I could) I sound was definately cushioned by the noise cancelation feature. Then I looked over at the other side of the living room and saw that someone had come into the house... woops. I didnt hear her comeing in! As embarrassed as I was I was happy that the headphones were able to quiet the entry of a person coming into a room.
Bad news... females voices come through with some clarity despite the noise cancelation. Girlfriends and mothers can be heard with unexcusable clarity.
