"Retractable Cord Cool, Fit is Cool, Sound Quality Okay, But One Serious Design Flaw!"
Pros: Build Quality, Fit is Excellent, Sound Quality is not bad, Retractable Cord is cool.
Cons: Design lets surrounding noise in easily!
Summary: PROS:
-Retractible cord is very functional and very cool.
-Fit is also functional as well and comfortable. I wear glasses and most earphones these style that hang on your ears usually never work with glasses on, but these do for some reason. Also the spring lock feature works fairly well to keep the hook taught on your ears without the wobble you usually get from these design.
-In silent environments, you can hear that the sound quality is pretty even and good. Anything louder than your library and you don't hear much.
-Colors and options. I've seen like 9 different color combos for these on the web. In Japan one guy or company actually fit a micro SD Card MP3 player into one of the earcups so you get an all-in-one package.
-Really good build quality. Good value!
CONS:
-The reason I stopped using these is the NYC Subway. Outside of the library or morgue these earphones let in every sound that is around you and the music you want to hear fades below everything else. Before buying these, I had Sony Fontopia MDR in-ear buds (which sealed out all the outside noise) and those caused an ear infection so I had to get over the ear style headphones and I got these. So immediately when I wore these I was VERY DISSAPPOINTED when I realized how loud everything else was during my commute. The sound quality is pretty good, but the design lets in too much noise to be able to enjoy what you're playing.
-I wished the foam bits were removable or replacable with something that is more seal-able (like rubber) which would be good for keeping outside sound out.
