"Bad Headphones :<"0.5 starson by DeviousJoseph
Pros: Brand Name, Love Sony.
Cons: Tight fit (resulting in ear fatigue), muddy sound, highs non-existent, distorted at high volumes.
Summary: Maybe I'm a little biased toward my MDR-V700s, but these V150s suck.. I had forgotten my V700s at home on a long trip cross-state, and talk radio, blech. So I begged and pleaded to stop at a Best Buy, blah blah blah, that's beside the point. I ended up with these pieces of garbage. I always test my headphones to every point possible. From durability to sound quality, these are quite possibly some of the worst headphones I've ever used.. The ones I got with my last CD player were better. First thing I noticed was the long cord.. It got tangled in my legs when I took the twist tie off. Long cords are better if coiled. Second thing I noticed was the tightness on my ears.. At first I thought, "Hey.. at least they won't fall off." :) But as I was playing with the EQ on my mp3 player, my ears started to hurt badly.. Back to the sound quality, I had to pretty much skyrocket the upper range on the EQ to get any highs at all.. Fail? They're very muddy, but I managed to get around that by playing with it for a while. But even then, and probably a personal fault as they're not rated for only a certain amount of power, they get a little distorted at high volumes. I always listen to my music as loud as quality allows, but with these things that's not very loud.. Unlike my V700s, which I sometimes use as portable laptop speakers. Since it was a spur of the moment thing, I didn't get a chance to read up on reviews, and had I done that, I probably wouldn't have even picked them up to read the specs on the back. I'm just glad I kept the receipt because they went back the very next day. Although it's a good thing I did, because now I've gotten a chance to review them, with the little knowledge I've obtained from using them for a couple hours. I also get the chance to say, and I've already told a friend of mine: I would -not- recommend these headphones. ~end~
