"The editors of cnet missed the best sound on non noise reducing headphones around." on by brianwpalmer

Pros: The best sound outside a studio. Frequency respone 5-30,000. Terrific sound. Still around $100.

Cons: Nothing except size that some don't like, but after they hear them, anyone who appreciates music wants one.

Summary: Users of this cite rate them 9.4. That score is unheard of and there is a reason. I am a musician and have had these over 10 years. Truly phenominal sound reporduction. The bass is clear and low, even on low volume- unheard of on other headphones. Tremnendous sound clarity and instrument clarity throughout the cound ranges. People will hear things on their favorite music they never heard before. I have had some of the same problems as others with the foam eventually getting worn on them, and the cord wearing out, but after thousands of hours of use it's to be expected. But, I am going out to buy my 2nd pair (and maybe my third in case they stop making them- for when the second wears out) beacuse I have tried hundreds and nothing even comes close. I realize the new noise reducing headphones may be an advantage for limited situations like a plane but I'd compete these head to head on sound production anywhere else BUT A PLANE, and believe these would win hands down.

"The Best Investment in Full Ear Headphones" on by rainierakarain

    Pros: Encloses the entire ear
    Responsive bass
    10 foot coiled cord
    comfortable for prolonged use.

    Cons: Earpad cushions deteriorate (replaceable)

Summary: I have no idea how CNET missed one of the best full ear headphones ever. I bought these headphones at Fry's electronics and have never regretted it. The bass thumps well without being lossy. It is also responsive to the mid and high ends of music. These headphones are comfortable for a full day use although be weary that they do get warm after awhile and produce ear sweat. I did notice that after prolonged use, the earpad cushions detiorated. I would recommend buying Beyerdynamic Earpad Cushions (compatible with the V6). I've been told that they are more comfortable than the stock cushions. These headphones are a definite buy.

"Impressed by Sony" on by Araunah

    Pros: Quality, Price, Noise Cancelling

Cons: Cord wound like old telephone cord.

Summary: I can't hear myself type when I use them. The sound produced even at max volume can't be heard by others around as long as the headphones are pressed against something, either themselves or your head. Perfect for work. Its adjustable head strap works ok. Comes with a leather or fake leather bag to put the headphones in, can't tell but I think its fake leather.

I was going to get V-Moda bass earbuds, but I am glad I got these instead.

"Best headphones I have ever tried" on by klitfin

Pros: The sound. So pure and natural.

Cons: I have had mine for about 20 year. Have replaced the earcuffs twice. Only con found.

Summary: If you want the best try these. Nothing I have ever tried comes close. I have found many people with these. My wife had them before we even met, the same with my best friend.
