I bought these when I returned the headphones I got as a gift (also from Sony, forget the model, $44 at Futureshop then on sale for $14 after Christmas, whoa.).
Walmart had them on sale for $50, another local store had them for $100. I liked how they sounded, but didn't want to pay $100 for them, glad I found them for cheaper.
Comparing to the headphones my cousin got, Beats By Dre, these headphones rock! Why spend $150+ on "fancy" headphones that my Sony headphones can do, for a lot less money.
Bass is astounding. A lot of dubstep is played through these, and all the notes sound perfect. Sony has never let me down, and this is exactly why. Good job!
They are rather huge though...

I concur with most reviewers about the sound. However - BEWARE! These headphones have very thick soft cushions (hence they're very comfortable) but the fit is not tight. So they're great if you're a 'PASSIVE' listener, i.e. sitting still or relatively non-abrupt head movements.

If you're an ACTIVE listener and like to 'rock' or dance (ie bobbing your head) to the music, these head phones are USELESS. Because the cushions are soft, the drivers move around in relation to your ears, and the sound becomes totally distorted and warped, ruining your listening experience.

So, to all those expressive music lovers, these headphones are not for you. But for the non-head-bobbing listener, or for movies, these are great.
