Pros great sound quality
Cons headband comfort
10 inch cord
sound mode switch does nothing
Summary Sound quaility: Great 4 out of 5
bass heavy but not over powering 4 out of 5 stars
mids sound good 4 out of 5 stars
high sounds good 4 out of 5 stars
With the 70 ohms, the volume is not going to be loud. ex. on a ipod touch in order to get a descent amount of volume one would have to put it up to 70 percent.
comfort not the greatest 3 out of 5 stars
all the pressure is directed on the top of the head
the cord, 10 ft long, is way too long but feels and look very durable
ear padding is great though. soft and comfortable it goes around your ears and not on it
seems sturdy enough to not break when dropped.
compared to other headphones
sennheisers hd 438
The sony's are way better in sound quality.
More bass heavy. The audio sounds more clear and real.
The hd 438 sounds more balance in all high, mid and lows. Takes more volume to hear than the sonys mdr xd200. Sounds quiet.
However it is more comfortable and fits perfectly. The option to switch wires is very appealing. Plus the hd 438 original price is about 100 dollars. Way too expensive for what they can give.
Overall I recommend the sonys in price and sound
Sennheisers PXC 450.
Between the two the sound quality is very similar. The pxc 450 might have a slight edge.
Comfort goes to pxc 450s.
The pxc 450s are noise cancellers and the sony's are open ear headphones.
The price of pxc 450s is 449. Way too expensive in my opinion.
Overall I recommend the sonys in price
Skull candy crushers
The sonys are way better in sound.
The skull candy crushers sounds muffle and distorted. More bass heavy
The comfort depends on the person. If you like your cans around your ears then you would want the sonys. If you like it on the ears then you would want the crushers.
The price is very similar.
Overall I recommend the sonys in sound.
Bose® Over-the-Ear Headphones
They both sound great. The sony might be more base heavy and might sound dull compared to the bose
The bose seems to cancel outside sound better
The comfort goes to bose.
The sonys seems more durable.
The bose are worth around 100 dollars.
Overall I recommend bose if comfort is important for you if not the price for sonys is better.
Grado: SR80i Headphones
They both sound great. The sonys might sound a bit dull compared to the grado.
Comfort goes to grado.
The sonys seems more durable
The grado's are worth around 100 dollars.
Overall I will buy the sonys in price.
"Good Headphones"on by hylyx
Pros Cheap, Crisp sound, Comfortable on ears
Cons Big, to use indoor
Summary I just bought it, $24 in a retail store in my country, better sound than my old in ear sony headphones, good bass sound, no big difference switching from movie/music mode, good option if you want to change your old entry level headphones...
"Great buy."on by President_Panda
Pros light, great sound output, comfortable.
Cons Fragile, amplifies outside sound when nothing is playing.
Summary I bout these for thirty dollars at Target and I've been entirely satisfied. If you're looking for a big pair of stereo headphones without paying too much, then these are a great choice. The sound quality is emmersive, and while these aren't noise cancelling, they do block out outside noise rather well. One interesting thing to note is that when there's no music playing and the headphones are silent, they tend to amplify outside noise and actually make it seem louder, but this really isn't a problem. The headphones are light - much lighter than you'd expect, and the padded, ergonomic earpads are extremely comfortable. Overall a great buy, as long as you're not a complete audiophile.
Pros VERY comfortable on your ears
Cons a little flimsy feeling
Summary I just purchased these headphones today looking for a nice but reasonably cheap pair of tradtitional headphones. They sit on your ears very comfortably. They have good noise isolation because on the way home from purchasing them people were talking to me in the car I could barely understand them. The headphones have good bass also. These headphones are an awesome bargain for $30. I would suggest that you buy these if you are looking for headphones in this category and price range.
Pros Comfortable, good base, long cord.
Cons They're kinda' massive, and hard to carry around.
Summary I usually use these while gaming. They have loads of base, I can wear them for a few hours without discomfort, I can crank the volume without every sounding "clipped" AND I have freedom to move around the room. Overall, good headphones. Just don't try to take them anywhere if you're going to have to take them off at any point.
