"If you buy these headphones, you're stealing Sony's money!!" on by eandradams
Pros: Great sound, loud but clear, great bass
Cons: Not for portable use?!?
Summary: These headphones should be $60.00 minimum. I am listening to music on my iPod as I write this, and I still feel like I stole from Sony.
The bass response is full and rich, the highs are clear and sharp enough to cut someone. The middles and vocals are full and present.
As for DVD watching, these phones do a good job of representing directional sound for a product that makes no claims in the area whatsoever. Whether it's "My Dinner with Andre'" or "Saving Private Ryan", sound reproduction is excellent.
With full pads around the ears, and a wide band across the top of the head, you can wear these cans for hours without discomfort (unless you crank 'em too much for your eardrums). The 10 meter cord can feel too long at times, but comes in really handy for late-night television.
My only con is that some people might think that these headphones aren't for portable use. Well, let me tell ya--These sound so good, you won't mind the looks you get.
If you're still reading this review, I have one question: Why? You should be buying these headphones already. You won't be disappointed. -
"Great, for the price" on by martin hacquard
Pros: Very confortable, very light, single side cord, good base with interestingly fonctional base boost on headphones
Cons: A little fragile, a little bulky in size, intended for indoor use only
Summary: This is no doubt an odd move for Sony who has for years offered nothing in this segment at such a price. This is by no means an audiophile quality headphone, but rather an effort to compete with low end quality home headphones. In this regard Sony has no doubt released a great product that offers great looks, terrific wearability and sound that is very adequate for this price range. Highly recommended for computer or home audio-video use.

"Great on-ears for an amazing bargain!" on by gadgetguy145
Pros: Great sound, powerful bass, decent price, clear vocals
Cons: Might get some funny looks when wearing outside, sound modes have no noticable differences
Summary: When I found these on Argos for £20.00 I was torn between these and the Sennheiser 201's. I honestly admit (after reading some reviews) that I made the right choice. The sound quality is spectacular, with rich, piercing vocals, party-worthy bass and sounded great whatever genre of music I was listening to.
They had a lovely build quality but I found that they were clearly not intended for portable use, but with sound this good you wouldn't care about the funny looks!
A perfect upgrade for the stock iPod earphones for people with a budget. -
"Clarity at its best." on
Pros: Amazing clarity both in music & movie mode.
Cons: Low bass when compared to other Sony headphones.
Summary: This pair of headphones is an excellent choice home theater & the design is also very good almost as good as AKG.
