Ultrasone DJ1

"Best headset I have ever heard for the price" on by skydrivr
Pros: Very clear and precise sound, travels well, better looking than the other ultrasones
Cons: Reveals flaws in the recordings, not ultrasones fault but it's the only draw back I can think of
Summary: If your looking for a great pair of headsets to travel with, don't want to spend more than two hundred bucks but still want audiophile sound then these headsets are for you. I'm a pilot and am on the road three to four days a week. I use them to listen to my iPod and music, games and movies off my laptop. The sound is the most precise and expansive sound I have heard from a pair of headsets under 500 bucks. I have listened to Shure, Bose, Panasonic, Sony and many others. Ultrsone out shines them all. Hook these up to a Boostaroo and you have a high-end stereo system in your pocket(I have B&W speakers at home so I know what high-end sounds like). I thought the cord (which is curled for DJ's) might be an issue but it works great. Throw the curled part in your pocket and you find the cord moves as you move because of the spring action of the curled portion of the cord. I noticed someone gave a poor review of another ultrasone and said the sound was hollow. This is not true. The S-logic makes you feel as if you are in the room the music is being played in. I can close my eyes and picture where the musicians are standing. I can hear details in the recording I could never hear on other headsets. For example when a symphony stops playing there is a lot of residual sound left bouncing around. With these headsets you can hear the fade out to the very last. The detail is amazing. On music with synth or other electronic sound effects it will blow your mind how much you're missing. It does a good job with mp3 and iTunes music. While these recordings lack the detail CD's provide they sound better than average. They are solidly built and look great. Great quality for the price. You would need to spend a ton more to get much better and then you probably wouldn't want to travel with them. They are a very good buy.

"Super clear and precise sound" on by sch102
Pros: The headphones have a nice light feel around the ear. The sound makes it seem like you're in a room with the artist playing. Clear, crisp, precise and good price.
Cons: If you love lots of bass, these aren't the headphones for you.
Summary: Good value, great sound, super comfortable.

"Amazing set of headphones that rivals other famouse headsets." on by djmarkian
Pros: Lightweight, covers your ears comfortabley, amazing sound, and price.
Cons: Not much cons as for now.
Summary: I have used 2 other dj headphones prior to this like the popular sony mdr-v700, and the technics rp-dh1200. And I gotta say this one had the best sounding most comfortable fit especially to my ears. And it fully covers your ears to really hear how you would monitor everything. The price its basically in the same range as the sony's, pioneer's, and technics. The most important is though it will be safer for your hearing.
