Pros I’ve challenged sound engineers, home theater aficionados, and musicians to try my Ultrasone 650’s and to not be impressed. To a person, they are astounded; one and all. Skeptics seem to fall hardest for these phones.
Cons I can't find any.
Pros Wow, where do I begin? These are just stellar. It sounds like you're either in a dance club or front row of a rock concert! The treble is so crystal clear and the bass just thumps without the noise saturation found in so many other audio devices.
Cons You can turn them up so loud without ANY loss in clarity that you'll want to frequently turn them up above healthy levels. They're that prestine and precise. P.S. does anyone here know how to prevent background hiss when you turn up system volume in W
Pros After using several Sennheiser headphones and the Shure E3's I find these to be in a league of their own. One needs a quality source like the Cowon A2
Cons Difficulty in finding source for purchase. Cord is too long for portable use.
Summary HFI-650 have been upgraded with the HFI-700's. So my comments relate to this advancement.
After using several Sennheiser headphones and Shure E3's, I am experiencing greater accuracy across the frequencies and broader spatial coverage that takes one beyond traditional head set sound. Using a source like iAudio/Cowon provides on their MP3's (X5 and A2) is required. Something an iPod can not deliver.
The bass is clean and not overpowering with high frequencies presenting instruments sound that is not heard normally. DVD quality is excellent. There is no hiss like in the Bose QuietComfort 2's due to their noise cancelling feature. Isolation is still good.
They need to consider a cable for MP3 users.
Pros I had to set my equalizer back to Flat, they are that perfect. Amazing sound and clarity; I'm rediscovering music I thought I knew. Solid construction. The hearing protection works; my eardrums didn't feel abused after hours of listening. The surround
Cons None. Although, the cord was so long it may be too long.
Pros Long cord, fits well over my ears, not very heavy
Cons First impression was yuck, what an ugly color! They are not silver and black, but a weird yellow-green and black. When I put them on they felt good, but they sounded hollow before any music was put on. Not a good sign, and when I heard through a few songs
