"ProLine 650: High quality and so nice sound!"
5.0 starson by swiddPros: The S-Logic stuff really works, the bass is awsome, clean and crisp sound in all kinds of music
Cons: Price, but no really, it's worth it!
Summary: First of all, I'm no audio expert or anything. After moving out from home into an apartment with neighbours and roommate, its became difficult to play loud music without getting some bad attitudes. So I decided that I would need to invest in some headphones.
So, I read this review that said the Ultrasound Proline 650 was "a must for geeks". That pretty much touched my heart, and settled the decision to buy them. You could say that I have a little to much money to spend, because 280 dollars for a pair of headphones really is a high price.
I recieved the package yesterday, and I'm allready so impressed that I feel the need to tell other people about it here!
The german product did not smell as nice as electronics produced in Asia, but the package was nice and high quality. But I love the smell of new electronics, and I was sorry to discover that there was no nice smell in this one.
The S-Logic stuff really is awsome. I cant tell where the sound is coming from! Normally, when I play CS or battlefield2, its a nobrain for my ears to tell that the sound comes from the speakers in front of me. Or if I use earplugs, the sound is dead and come directly into my ear. Its easy to tell and the sound give no feeling of being in a room. With the Ultrasone however, its like I'm in the room. When I play battlefield, I can tell distances and I get the feeling of being in a real space. When I watch movies, its like being in the room with the people. And when I listen to music, its an incredible high quality sound. The bass is awsome!
I've seen other people saying that they hear things they've never heard before. That is SO TRUE! The music that I've listened to like forever, suddenly have more details to it. Certain sounds in the background becomes more defined, and it's like the music contains more instruments and is more "a whole" than what I'm used to with my regular desktop speakers. The sounds that usually is just background noise in the music becomes part of the music, and more of the music is available.
Some people also said that the headphones are hot. I live in Florida, so obviously the headphones are hot. In fact not just hot, it's like my ears are on fire. But that doesnt bother me at all. The headphones does not give any noticable pressure on the head at all, and they are very comfortable.
And some people have said that they feel hollow when you have them on without music. This is also something I felt, but it was not hollow in a negative sense... I would perhaps like to call it "roomy" instead.
I tried to tune up the volume to some music, and I had no discomfort after listening at this volume level for several hours. Probably not so good for my ears, but its certainly good for my listening experience!
Ultrasone included a CD with classical music, fireworks, applaus and some other german propaganda. I guess the works of the nazi propaganda minister during WW2 still is not forgotten. But the propaganda-CD was worth half the price. I'm not a classical music fan, but this really was a nice listening experience. It demonstrated the difference between normal headphones and this S-Logic-stuff. It is like being in a room, or standing on a bridge watching fireworks. Just close my eyes and let the imagination flow. The headphones certainly doesnt limit the feeling of being somewhere else.
I recomend anyone who wants high class headphones to buy these. It is a huge difference from all those other headphones that claim great sound. These give not only great sound, but sound with distance and defined strength. Add high geek factor, better gaming performance, awsome bass, nice design, high quality and out-of-body listening experience, the price is all worth it.
