Pros match Nano Red, bass is amazing, VERY comfortable
Cons None for its price
Summary Cnet is right - As a rock, hip-hop, and dance music lover this is the holy grail of great sound, incredible bass, and very comfortable fittiings. When I listen to club and rock music, I actually feel like I am there.
The older Sony EX71 are similar size and fit to Bass Freq, but the bass is not as precise, and the overall sound is "fuzzy" compared to the crispness of Bass Freq. Bass is strong, but not muddy or overpowering. The highs and mids are also great, a very crisp sound overall.. not at all muddy or distorted. (Much better than my previous in-ears, the Sony 71 and Griffin EarThupms.)
I also own the Shure E3Cs, which do have a more flat and slightly more detailed sound than Bass Freq, but they cost three times as much and I easily prefer the overall feeling of sound from the added bass. Also the Shures require a much more uncomfortable fitting in the ear, and you have to wrap them around your ears which make them very hard to put on and take off.
I cannot highly recommended this product enough, especially for the price
Pros Good sound quality; comes in several colors; passive sound isolation.
Cons Bass can get too heavy sometimes; highs are a bit soft.
Summary These earphones are a great value at $35. My primary reason for buying them was to help block out the sound of the subways. After getting them, I gotten to like everything else about them.
These earphones passively block out sound, so there's no need for batteries unlike noise-cancelling earphones. Unfortunately this means that you're going to the noise when the wire brushes onto your shirt. You can secure it to your shirt with a clip or something if it bothers you. I didn't have that problem with my old Koss 'The Plug' 'phones because they used foam instead of silicon, but they stuck out of my ears too much.
The bass is amazing. It's great for music but even better for watching movies. On my portable DVD player and my Gigabeat S60, the explosions almost blow me away. On my iRiver T10, with the 'U BASS' equalizer setting, you do get the impression that you're at a concert.
These earphones come with a cable management system, but I've never actually used it. They don't tangle as easily as they're made out to. I have bigger problems from my Gumi earphones. They feel about as durable as iPod's stock earbuds.
The Bass Freqs sound great for earphones in this price range, but they're only good at best. Mids and lows are pretty good, but highs aren't as crisp as I'd like them to be. But hey, you can't do much better for $35.Updated
Not that it affects the performance, but I also like how these earphones match most of my wardrobe.
Pros Lots of Bass
Cons everything else (sucks)
Summary IGNORE C-NET'S POSITIVE REVIEWS!!! These headphones suck.
These headphones are generally not worth it. They do have lots of distortion free bass, but that's about it.
If bass is **ALL** you're looking for then maybe these are for you.
There's hardly any treble or clarity whatsoever. It's as if someone turned the treble all the way down on a boombox or something.
Just as bad is that fact that no matter what size rubber insert you use (it comes with 3, they are necessary or you'll have NO bass) these headphones create a very uncomfortable suction on one, or both, of your ears. Sometimes it creates so much suction that the drivers in the earbuds can't work anymore because their is to much of it (the driver can't moved forward or backwards much so it can't create much sound!!!).
GO WITH THE SENNHEISER CX-300, if you want good bass AND great all around sound in this price range.
After buying these I regretted my purchase and wished I had just gone with my original decision to purchase the Sennheisers
Pros da bass baby
Cons not shuch great mids but deff not awfuul
Summary these headphones are absloutly amazing if your a bass head you caint go wrong with these buds i even rate these buds over my sony extra bas mdr xb 700s and the price makes this buy even better these should be 100 daller headphones deff would recomend
Pros Dog got a hold of first pair, So I tried to make do with Apples included headphones, but they're uncomfortable and have no bass, so I've bought a 2nd pair, went with green since they're only $12 on ebay, (cause green is ugly?)
Cons Nothing, that's why I'm back for a second pair
